After dinner Sarah drove her and Jessica back home.

"I had a very nice time tonight." Jessica smiles.

"I had a nice time too.  This was our first date!  I never thought this would happen!" Sarah laughs.

Jessica chuckles and Sarah holds her hand and leans in to kiss her lips.

Jessica kisses back, then smiles softly.

Sarah brings her hand to her lips and kisses the back of it.

"I hate that we can't sleep together tonight."

"Why can't we sleep together?  What if I'm just helping you with the babies?"

"Well yeah, but we can't cuddle.. You know I love cuddles." She smiles.

"Yes, I do know that!
Might be a little bit suspicious.  Well I guess I'll sleep by myself tonight." Sarah pouts.

Jessica grabs her cheeks and speaks in a baby voice.
"Oh I so sorry! I so sorry!" She kisses her lips and Sarah giggles.

"You're so cute!"

"Thanks.. Let's go in!"

"Let's go see the babies!"

"Oh my babies!  They're asleep!  Mom, they're asleep!" Jessica whisperers with a smile.

"They just went down.  Little Addy is quite the screamer, huh?"

"Yes!" Jessica and Sarah both nod.

"She's always crying!" Jessica chuckles.

"That's how you were!"

"Really?"

"Yep!  Payback, little girl!" Dorothy points her finger at Jessica.

"Hah! Thanks mom."

"So how was your first night out without the babies?  You and Sarah have been at it alone for a little while."

"Yeah!  It was great.  Nice to be out and see other humans over the age of four weeks old."

Dorothy laughs and says, "I bet! You two are doing amazing! Jessie, I am so proud of you."

"Thank you." She smiles softly.

Dorothy hugs her and says, "I'm gonna head to bed."

"The little munchkins are pretty tiring, huh?"

"Yes! But it's been a while since I've gotten this much exercise, so it was good! Plus I love spending time with my precious little grand babies!" Dorothy smiles at them sleeping peacefully in their bassinet.

Jessica smiles and says, "Thanks again for watching them. Hopefully they won't be too loud tonight and let you sleep!"

"Oh it's okay! I'm here to help, so if you need any, just call me."

"Thank you."

"Well the babies are still sleeping.. I guess I don't have to hang out and help you." Sarah says in a sad tone.

"Yeah I guess not..."

Sarah turns to and looks at the door, then walks over and wraps her arms around Jessica.

"Just call me if you need anything. I'm right down the hall."

"Thanks." Jessica lays on her shoulder and mumbles, "I'm gonna miss my cuddle buddy.."

"Awe baby!" Sarah holds her tighter and kisses the top of her head.

"As soon as those babies cry, I'll be right here, okay?"

Jessica nods her head.

"Hey Jess, do you have--
Is everything okay?" Jessica hears her mother's voice.

Jessica pops her head up and Sarah pushes her away.

"Mrs. Lange!  What are you doing up?!" Her eyes widen.

"I was wondering if you had an extra blanket.  Why is this house so cold?!"

"Sorry mom.  Yeah, I have some extra blankets."

"You know, Mrs. Lange, you're right!  Let me go turn up the heat a bit." Sarah walks out of the room.

Dorothy watched her walk out and says, "Are you okay, baby?  Are you upset?"

"I'm just tired.  Here you go." Jessica hands her two extra blankets.

"Thanks baby.  You get some sleep." Dorothy kisses her cheek and rubs her arm.

"Goodnight."

Dorothy walks out and heads to her room, and shortly after Sarah walks by making an Oops! face making Jessica laugh.

Two hours later.

"Oh what's the matter, Addelyn?  Are you hungry?  How can you be hungry at this hour?" Jessica says in a cute voice.

Addelyn cries louder and scratches at her face.

"Hey don't do that!" Jessica moves her hands.

"Don't do that to your pretty face!"

Addelyn arches her back and fusses even more.

"I'm coming!  Don't hurt your little voice."

Jessica starts feeding her and she immediately latches on and just stares at Jessica.

"Look at those pretty eyes!  You're mama's beautiful girl, aren't you, gorgeous?"

Addelyn grabs onto Jessica's finger and makes cute humming noises as she eats.

"You're really enjoying mama's milk, huh?  Is it good, sweetie?"

Nathaniel started to fuss so Jessica looked over.

"Oh Nathan, what are you fussing about? What's up, little dude?
Is Sarah gonna come?" Jessica waits a second but doesn't hear Sarah.

"I bet she's asleep!  She's enjoying her room to herself, isn't she?!"

Jessica finishes nursing Addelyn, then quickly burps her.

"Just a second, Nathaniel, mommy's coming baby!" She says pepping Addelyn up on her boppy pillow.

"Hey!  I'm right here, silly boy!  There's no need to cry, handsome!"

Jessica nurses him and looks at Addelyn who was squirming around and scratching her face.

"Addy, stop doing that!"

She starts crying so Jessica picks her and walks over to the babies drawer to grab her little baby mittens.

"You need to stop scratching your face!  You have marks on your cheeks, Princess.  That's not good!" Jessica speaks in a baby voice.

She lays Addylen back down and she rubs her hands on her face making the gloves fall off.

"Hey! Why'd you do that?" She says cutely as she struggles to put them back on.

"Having another set of arms would be great right about now."

Addelyn arches her back and turns red from crying so hard.

"Princess, what's the matter?! Did something bite you? Do you have an itch? Do you need a diapy?" She says scooping her into her arms while still feeding Nathaniel.

Addelyn slowly calms down and Jessica chuckles.

"Well look who's Ms. Spoiled! You just wanted to be held, didn't you? Well you are mama's princess! It's okay!" She says in a cute way before kissing her forehead.

The next morning Sarah walks into Jessica's room and sees her passed out with the babies sleeping peacefully beside her.  She had her hand laid across their bellies, protecting them even while she sleeps.

Sarah smiles at their cuteness and walks over and places a kiss on Jessica's temple.

Jessica is a very light sleeper, so she slowly opened her eyes.

"Hm?"

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up, go back to sleep."

"You didn't come help me like you said." Jessica says in a sad tone.

"I know, I'm sorry!  I was out, babe."

"Must be nice." She says laying her head back down on the pillow.

"I'm sorry.  Were they up all night?"

"Yeah.  I had to grab Addy's little mittens, she keeps scratching her face."

"Still?"

"Yeah.  Her face is all scratched up."

"Poor baby!"

Jessica yawns and stretches.

Sarah looks down at her and gives her a soft kiss.

"I had a dream about you last night." Sarah says just inches from her lips.

"Oh you did?  What was it about?" Jessica giggles.

"Well you and I were-"

"Breakfast is ready!" Dorothy pops her head in and sees Sarah practicality on top of Jessica.

Sarah quickly stands up and says, "Dorothy!  You sneak up all the time, we're gonna need to put a bellyon you!" Sarah laughs nervously.

"Heh! Well breakfast is ready."

"Thanks mom!"

Dorothy walks away and Sarah looks at Jessica.

"We almost got caught!"

"I know!" Sarah laughs.

During breakfast Jessica fed Addelyn while Nathaniel sat in his little baby swing sucking on his binky.

Her phone buzzed, so she picked it up and read the message.

*Hey do you have a few minutes to talk?*

Jessica scoffed and rolled her eyes as she not so gently tossed her phone in the table.

"What's wrong?" Sarah asks.

"It's Sam."

"What does he want?" Dorothy asks her.

"He wants to know if I have a few minutes to talk.. I don't even want to hear what he has to say."

"You don't have to talk to him, Jess."

"I have no choice. The divorce isn't final yet.  I'm still his wife, and he can still do something stupid."

"What do you think he'll do?"

Jessica looks down and nods her head.

"Just.. *Sighs* Something I don't even want to think about."

"I'm sorry, baby." Sarah rubs her arm.

Jessica brings her eyes to Sarah and gives her a look.

Sarah notices and looks at Addelyn.

"Baby!  Baby!  You're the baby, aren't you?!  You and my boy!  Nathaniel!!" She stands up and walks over to him.

Dorothy gives her a strange look and Jessica just rolls her eyes.

"I'll be back.  I can't even enjoy my breakfast.  I just have to hear what he has to say." Jessica excuses herself and walks to the living room.

"Hey Jess!" Sam answers.

"Hi... What did you want to talk about?"

"I'll be in New York in two weeks for a few months!"

"You will?"

"Yeah!  So once I get settled, the babies can come spend some time with me."

"What?  Samuel, no!"

"No?!  Jess, they're my babies too."

"Sam, you don't even know them!  They won't feel comfortable staying with you."

"They're babies, they don't know anything."

"They know that in their mommy and that I love them."

"Well I love them too."

Jessica huffs and rolls her eyes.

"Who's fault is it that they don't know who I am?"

"That's YOUR fault Samuel."

"No it's not.  When I get their in two weeks all I'm asking for is the weekends with my kids."

"They're newborn babies!  Jesus Christ, they can't be away from me!"

"Why not?"

"I'm nursing."

"Well pump some of that shit and give it to me."

"It's not shit it's what feeds your children and NO you will not take them from me."

"You really can't keep them from me, you know that, Jess?"

"You can come over to the house to see them, but you may not take them.  They have to stay with me."

"Whatever.  I'll see you when I get there."

Sam hangs up and Jessica starts crying.
Sarah walked in and hugged her.

"Hey.. Hey, what's wrong?  What did he say?"

"He's coming to New York in two weeks and he'll be here for months.  He wants the babies to spend the weekends with him.  He can't have them, Sarah they're too little!  They need me!"

"I know, I know.. It'll be okay.  We'll think of something.  Just don't cry, you'll make yourself sick, babe."

Jessica let's out a sob and lays on Sarah's shoulder.

"We won't let him take them, okay?  Everything is going to be fine."

Jessica sniffles and nods her head.
Sarah lays on her and Jessica pulls away slightly to look into her eyes.

"I love you so much.."

Sarah smiles softly and says, "I love you too."

Jessica leaned in and gave Sarah the softest and most loving kiss.
