Jessica drove to Danny's and knocked on his door.
He quickly opened it and saw her standing there. Her eyes were red and puffy from crying the whole way over.

"Oh Jess.."

A sob escapes her lips and she practically throws herself on Danny.

"She said she can't forgive me.. Danny, I love her!"

"I know you do, Jessica."

"How do I fix this?"

"I don't know, Jess. I wish I knew, but I don't."

"I just hate myself so much!  I was treated like shit for years, and now I have this amazing wife and I fucking ruin it!"

"It'll be okay.  She'll see that you really do love her, Jess.. and she'll forgive you.  It'll take time, but it'll happen.  I've watched you two on set before.. Jessica, she loves you.  It's not over."

"You really think so?"

"I do."

"Thanks.." Jessica sniffles.

Danny loves Jessica with all his heart, but he knows he isn't the one for her.  She was in love with Sarah.  For now he was going to be there for her as her best friend and father of her child.

"Thank you letting me stay here. I didn't get to grab anything, do you have a T-shirt I could burrow?"

"Sure."

Danny grabbed an oversized shirt and brought it back to her.

"Thanks."

"No problem. You can stay in the guest bedroom. It's pretty nice, you have a bed, bathroom and a tv."

"What more can you ask for?" Jessica chuckles.

"Yeah." Danny laughs.

"Why don't you change into comfortable clothes and we can talk?"

"Okay.."

Jessica did just what he said and came back to the living room.

"I think I need to call Sam and ask him to keep the kids for a while longer. I need to find a place."

"Well when you first called I actually went to ask if there were any available apartments, and there is one just a few doors down.. if you'd like to live here. I just thought I'd help you out a little."

"That does help. Thank you, Danny."

"No problem. We can look at it tomorrow."

"Okay.. even if it's just for a little while.. I just need something."

"Where are you going after this?"

"Well we were going back to Minnesota in January, but now.. I don't know.. I might take the kids anyway, but I need to figure out where she's gonna be because I still want to see Dylan. Then I need to figure out where you're gonna be because we have the baby. Oh gosh.. my life is so fucked up!" Jessica chuckles.

"I'll follow you wherever, I don't have anywhere I have to be, and like I said before I want to be involved as much as you'll let me."

"Thanks.
I'm gonna call Sam. At least that'll buy me a few more days.. I don't know how to tell the kids about all of this."

Jessica left the room to call Sam.  She told him she and Sarah were going through something and that she needed a few days.  She didn't mention Danny or the baby.  Sam agreed to keep the kids for a few more days, which was a huge relief to Jessica.

The next morning Danny made breakfast and set it out on the table.

Jessica took a while to come out of her room due to morning sickness, but eventually made it out before the food turned cold.

"Good morning!" Danny smiles.

"Morning.  Sorry, I was puking.."

"I'm sorry.  Hopefully none of this upsets your stomach more than it already is."

"No, it smells delicious!"

"Great!  Besides being sick from your stomach, how are you feeling?"

"I feel okay.."

"Good." Danny gave her a bright smile.

Later that day Jessica checked out the apartment and told them she would like to rent it.  Now in the middle of everything Jessica wanted to try to make this place look as homey as possible for the kids.

While she went out to buy things for the apartment, she called Sarah.
Like the past ten times she's called, Sarah has sent her straight to voicemail.

She then decided to go by the house to not only speak with Sarah, but to grab her clothes.

When she walked into the house Sarah gave her an evil glare.  "All your shit is packed and is by the door."

"Sarah-"

"I don't want to speak to you, Jessica."

"Sarah, I know this is hard-"

"Hard?  Oh Jessica, it's way worse than that.  What are we gonna do about our family?  The twins?  I am nothing to them, you've said it before!  They are my children too!  I've been there since DAY ONE!  I watched them come into this world, Jessica!  Now that you've done this you're going to keep them from me!  What about Dylan?"

"The twins will still see you, Sarah.  For Dylan, he's my little baby!  I have to spend time with him too so we'll figure it out."

"This is all such a mess, Jessica!  Look what you did!"

"Sarah, you don't have to keep saying that, I feel terrible already."

"You should.  Jesus, Jessica!"

"I found a place to stay until we figure this whole thing out.  I'm getting the kids on New Year's Eve.  I'll tell them we're taking a bit of a break to figure things out.. I'm not telling them about the baby yet.
Oh and I'll call you so we can figure out our schedule with Dylan."

"Okay."

Jessica then walks over and picks the baby up.  He was so happy to see Jessica.  Jessica kissed his cheeks and spoke to him in an adorable voice.

"Mommy needs to leave, so come with me." Sarah takes him away.

"Sarah!"

Dylan starts crying and reaches for Jessica.
"Give him to me!" She says.

"No, we have things to do."

"Well I can watch him while you do whatever you need to do."

"No."

"Why, Sarah?  Just let me take him and I can drop him off later."

"Fine, But take your shit with you." Sarah points to the boxes.

"Sarah I-I.."

"Oh right!  You're pregnant.. those are way too heavy for you, huh?"

"No I-"

"Well maybe you should have brought your baby daddy along for help!"

"Please stop."

"Just get out!" She snaps.

Jessica put the baby down and carefully took the boxes out to her car.  She knew she shouldn't be carrying something so heavy, but she just wanted everything out of there as soon as possible.

Afterwards she packed a small bag for the baby, and left.

She then drove back to the apartment and called Danny to help her with her things.

"Hey Dylan!" Danny smiles and tickles him making him giggle.

"Oh you got your stuff!  Did Sarah help you with all this?"

"..No."

"Jessica, you carried all of this?"

"Yeah..."

"You have to be carful, you're pregnant!  You could have really hurt yourself or the baby!  This is crazy!  No matter what, I can't believe Sarah let you carry all of these boxes out."

"Oh Danny, I'm fine."

"Go inside and rest, please.  I'll bring everything up."

"Okay.  Thank you."

Jessica went up to Danny's apartment with the baby and laid down in the guest bedroom.  Her furniture was not being delivered for another few days, so until then she was staying with Danny.

After bringing up all of her boxes he went into the room and sat on her bed.

"Thank you." Jessica said.

"You're welcome.  Now no more of that!  You have a baby inside of you and need to start acting like you do!"

"I know."

"So how'd you get to take him?"

"She had things to do so I asked.  I have to take him back later.  Dylan, can you say hi, Danny?"

Dylan turns to Danny and studies his face.

"Hi, buddy!" Danny smiles and waves.

Dylan smiles and babbles as he turns back to Jessica.

"He likes you!" Jessica smiles.

"Awesome!  Can I hold him?"

"Sure.  Dylan, go with Danny." Jessica hands him over.

"Hey!  Boy, you're cute!"

Dylan looks at Danny, then turns to Jessica with tears in his eyes.

"Mommy's right there, she's not going anywhere!  You're okay!" He smiles and lifts Dylan in the air.  Suddenly he giggled in the most adorable way.

"Oh he's having fun now!" Jessica smiles.

Jessica watched as Danny played with the baby.  She knew he was going to be a great father just from how he was interacting with Dylan.

"Okay, okay, back to your mommy."

"Welcome back, handsome!" Jessica kisses him.

"Was that fun?  Danny, you're so good with him!"

"Thanks."

"You're gonna make a great father." She smiles.

"You think?"

"Yeah."

"Well Thanks!" Danny smiles in a goofy way making Jessica laugh.

December 31st.

Jessica and Sarah have since spoken and decided to meet at a local restaurant after Jessica picks the kids up from Sam.  They are planning on telling them they are going to separate.

"Momma!  I've missed you!" Addelyn runs to Sarah.

"I've missed you too, princess!  And I missed you too, Nathan!  Did you have fun with your dad?"

"Yeah, we had so much fun!"

"That's awesome!"

During the meal Sarah and Jessica didn't speak once.
After they were finished Jessica started the dreaded conversation.

"Kids, momma and I have something we need to talk to you about."

"Are we getting another baby?!" Addelyn asks with excitement.

Sarah looks at Jessica and rolls her eyes.

"Baby, Listen..
*Sighs* Sometimes when two people live together for a long time like me and momma.. they need a little break from each other."

"What do you mean?" Nathaniel asks.

"Well you know how when you and Addy play, and after a while you need sometime to yourself?"

"Yeah cause she can get on my nerves!"

"Exactly!"

"HEY!" Addelyn hits his arm.

"Listen, guys.  Momma and I need a break.. I found a really really nice apartment that's big enough for you to have your own rooms!"

"Wait, are you getting a divorce?" Addelyn asks.

"No baby!  It's just a little time apart."

"But now what's cool is that you'll have three rooms to decorate and make your own!" Sarah says trying to make it sound fun to the kids.

"No, I don't like that!  It's weird with two now!  Are you guys not happy?" Addelyn asks.

"We just need some time, baby.  Mommy and I are going through something.  But there is one thing we both have in common, and one thing that will always connect us.. that's you three.  We love you all so so much, and no matter what, we just want you three to be happy.  If we stay in the same house and fight all the time, you guys won't be happy."

"But it's just sad.. you were fine on Christmas!"

"I know, Addy." Sarah said in a tearful voice.

Jessica looked down then said, " You can go visit Momma whenever you want, okay?  We're working on a schedule right now, but if you're over there and want me, I'll be right over.  If you want momma and you're at my place, then she'll come get you, okay?"

"Okay.. this is sad, guys."

"I know honey, but we'll work on getting better so we can go back to normal." Jessica says.

Jessica was taking all three kids with her after lunch. Once they were all in the car she and Sarah spoke outside.

"Jessica, don't give them false hope, please."

"What do you mean?"

"I'm not taking you back after you birth some man's child.  I have more respect for myself than that!"

"Sarah, you know I love you and that I never meant to hurt you. I want to go to therapy and work this out.  I don't want to throw everything we have away!"

"You did that the moment you opened your legs to that man, Jessica." Sarah said just before she walked off leaving Jessica standing there alone.

"So this is the place.  Do you like it?"

"It's cool!" Nathaniel says.

"I wanna go home!" Addelyn pouts.

"Oh honey, it's okay!  Go look in your room, I bought you all kinds of cool stuff!"

After showing the kids around Jessica called Danny.

"Danny, it's New Years Eve, go out and have fun!"

"No, I want to just spend the night in."

"Well then come over and help me with these kids."

"Are you sure?  I don't feel right."

"Danny, just come over!"

"Okay, I'll be right there."

Danny walked down the hall and visited Jessica's apartment.

"Kids, you remember Mommy's friend, Danny?"

"I do!" Addelyn says.

"Hi Danny." Nathaniel smiles.

"Hey, Kids!  What are we watching over here?"

"Sponge Bob!"

"Oh I love Sponge Bob!"

"He's so funny!" Addelyn smiles.

Later that night.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

Jessica kissed all of her babies, then hugged Danny.  He kissed her cheek and said, "Happy New Year, Jess."

"Happy New Year, Danny!"

Right after midnight the kids fell asleep.
The twins went to their rooms, and Dylan was sleeping on the couch beside Danny and Jessica.

"This year we'll have a baby.  Isn't that cool?" Danny says.

"Yeah.. I wonder what it is.."

"I don't know, but I can't wait to find out!
.. Do you mind if I feel it?"

"Go ahead, but there's really nothing to feel yet."

"It's okay.. Hi baby, it's daddy!  Happy New Year my little muffin.  I love you so much!"  He kisses her belly and smiles.

"Aw, you're so sweet.  It's so crazy.. there's a baby in there!"

"I know.. our baby."

"Our baby.."

January 9th.
10 weeks pregnant.

Today is the day Jessica is planning on telling the kids about the baby. She was very nervous because she had no idea what their reactions were going to be.  She even asked Danny to be there when she told them.

"Jessica, are you sure I should be here?  I feel like it should just be you and the kids."

"No, I want you here."

"Okay.."

Jessica called the twins over and they all four sat down at the table.

"Kids, I have some news for you.. I don't know how you're going to react, but um.. here it goes.
I'm going to have a baby."

"A baby?!" Addelyn's eyes widen.

"Mommy, you're pregnant?!  We're gonna have another baby?" Nathaniel shouts.

"I am!"

"This is so cool!  What's the baby gonna be?  Is it in your tummy right now?!"

"Yeah, it's in there!" Jessica giggles. "We still have like two months before we find out what it is."

"I'm so excited!  Does momma know?" Addelyn asks.

"Yeah baby, but uh.. that's another thing I need to talk to you about."

"Okay.  Oh and does the baby have the same daddy as Dylan?"

"Yeah, did you do it at the hospital like momma?" Nathaniel asks.

Jessica takes a deep breath. "Well um..
..So since I decided to have a baby after momma and I separated, it's actually not momma's baby.  I asked a very special friend to help me have a baby.. and.."

"Who did you ask?"

"I uh.. I-I asked Danny."

"Danny's gonna be a daddy?!" Addelyn's eyes widen.

"Yeah.. kids, I know this is confusing but, one day it will all make sense.."

"Okay.  When you and momma are happy again and we move back home, will she be the baby's mommy then?"

"Maybe so." Jessica smiles.

"But let's not bring this up to momma, okay?"

"Why not?"

"Because-"

"Is this why you're fighting?  Was momma mad cause you wanted to have a baby?"

"No honey.. it complicated, but you'll understand one day."

"Can we see the baby?"

"Yeah, look at these pictures!" Danny smiles and takes the picture from his pocket he had in there to show them.

"That's the baby?!" Addelyn asks.

"It's so small!" Nathaniel says.

"It's growing now!  Look at Mommy's tummy!" Danny points to Jessica.

"Let us see!"

Jessica stands up and lifts her over shirt.

"Woah!  There's a little baby in there!  This is so cool!"

"I'm glad you guys are excited.."

"We're super excited!  And mommy, Dylan is gonna be a big brother!"

"That's so funny cause he's only a little baby!" Nathaniel laughs.

"I know.. my little baby.."

As time went on Jessica called her family and filled them in on what's been going on.  Dorothy was very disappointed in Jessica, even though she was excited for her newest little grandchild.

"Jessica, cheating on your wife?!  Your father and I raised you better than that!"

"Mom, I know.  This was so wrong, and I hate myself for doing it."

"Are you two going to try to work through this? Didn't you tell me you were going to therapy?"

"We were going to but, that never happened. I really want to work this out.... I don't want it to end, mom."

"Sweetie, I know. You just need to give her some time.  You really hurt her, Jessica!"

"I know.. *Sighs* Oh gosh mom, that's not all."

"What more could there possibly be Jessica Lange?"

"I'm pregnant."

"JESSICA!"

"I'm a horrible person. I screwed up my marriage and completely ruined my family!" Jessica cries.

"I wish I could take it back, momma!  I love Sarah and I hurt her so badly!" Jessica was now crying so hard she could barley breath.

"Jessica, calm down.  You're gonna get sick."

"I met someone that loves me and that treats me so well.. and I fucking ruined it!"

"Language, young lady!"

"Sorry.."

"Jessica, this is a really really bad situation, but just pray and really show Sarah how much you love her."

"I do mom, I love her SO much!"

"I know you do.  Now calm down, I don't want you upsetting my grandbaby!"

"I know, I'll try to calm down."

"Ignoring everything wrong in the situation, I'm very excited for my new little grandchild!  Please keep me updated on them!"

"I will, momma."

Sarah broke the news to her family as well and they were absolutely crushed.
When Sam found out, the kids were the ones that spilled the beans.

"Daddy, Mommy's having a baby! I'm gonna be a big sister AGAIN!" Addelyn said with a big smile.

"You are? Wow, they just had Dylan, that's so soon!"

"Yeah But it's not momma, Mommy's having this baby. This baby's daddy is her friend Danny!"

"What?"

"Mhm! BUT the baby isn't momma's, only Mommy's and Danny's."

"Yeah cause momma and mommy are taking a break from being married." Nathaniel says.

"Are you serious?"

"Yeah, why didn't mommy tell you?"

"I don't know. Um.. why don't you kids get ready and I'll take you two out for dinner?"

"Okay!" They say in unison.

The kids ran upstairs and Sam quickly called Jessica.

"Hello?"

"Jessica!"

"Sam? Are the kids okay?!"

"They're fine, they were just telling me your news."

"Oh shoot! I forgot to mention-"

"For them not to tell me you're a cheater?"

"Oh Sam, you're one to talk!"

"With Danny Huston? Really, Jess?"

"Sam, we shouldn't be talking about this. You should be spending time with your kids, not worrying about My life."

"I just can't believe this!"

"Okay.  Goodbye, Sam!"

Valentine's Day.

The kids were with Sarah today, so Jessica was at the apartment alone. Danny knew she was by herself so he went out, bought her some flowers and brought them over to apartment.

Jessica was in leggings and an old T-shirt, with her hair up in a messy bun when she heard a knock on the door.

She opened the door and smiled.
"Ah!"

"Happy Valentine's Day!" Danny says with a smile.

"Thank you! Oh these are so beautiful Danny!" Jessica takes the flowers and hugs him tightly.

"Come in!"

"Well I actually made some dinner, so I was wondering if you wanted to come over?"

"Food? Yes! Let me just put these in some water."

"Alright." Danny chuckles.

...

"Okay, I'm ready!"

They then walk down the hall to Danny's apartment.

"Oh my gosh, it smells so good in here!"

"Thanks!  Have a seat and I'll serve you."

Jessica smiles and quickly walks over to the table.

Danny serves them both then takes a seat in front of her.

"Thank you for this, Danny. I was about to order a pizza!"

"No problem. You're the mother of my baby, and my best friend, so I wanted to do something special for you."

"Aw! Well I don't have anything for you, but I'll give you a little kiss." Jessica smiles.

"I'll take it." Danny chuckles.

"Hah!  So you didn't have a valentine this year?"

"The only valentine I need is in that little tummy!" Danny points to her bump.

"Aw!" She smiles and holds her belly in her hand.

"Oh gosh, that was delicious, Danny."

"I'm glad you liked it."

"We loved it!" Jessica smiles and rubs her hand over her small bump.

She then gasps and looks down.

"What's wrong?"

"The baby moved!"

"No way! Really?" He smiles and quickly places his hand on her stomach.

"Yeah.. Aw, that felt so nice! It's been so long since I've felt that little flutter!"

"That's so cool. You're creating a life.. I thought I did good just making dinner!"

Jessica laughs. "Hey that was great too! Your dinner made your little baby move! They like their daddy's cooking." She smiles.

"Really?!" Danny's smile grows.

"That's so cool!"

"I know!" Jessica laughs.

She then smiles and goes up on her tip toes and kisses his cheek.

"There's your kiss."

"Thank you." He smiles softly and gently touches his cheek.

Jessica then laughs at the sudden goofy look in his eyes.

Jessica is now sixteen weeks pregnant.
The only time she's spoken to Sarah is when they discuss the kids' schedule.

Today she is taking the twins to school, then she and Danny are going to a doctors appointment.

The relationship between those two is strictly friendship. Danny has pushed his feelings to the side and has really been the friend she needs during this time.

"What are they gonna do today?" Danny asks.

"I think it's just a regular check up today."

"But didn't the nurse say we might be able to find out the gender?"

"Yeah, but that was a big maybe, Danny."

Danny reaches his hand over and rubs her belly. "Get into position, little one!  I wanna find out what you are!"

Jessica chuckles. "What do you think it is? What's your final guess?"

"I think it's a girl." He smiles.

"Really?"

"Yeah, what do you think?"

"Well I've been thinking girl, BUT I had a dream last night and it was a boy, so I don't know."

"They need to hurry up and call us back!"

"Jessica."

"Oh wow! Did I just do that?" Danny's eyes widen.

Jessica laughs and stands up. "Let's go, you dork."

"Okay, the baby is measuring exactly 16 weeks, which in great!  Are you feeling any movement yet?"

"Yes! The first time I felt it was on Valentine's Day-"

"The baby likes my cooking." Danny interrupts making Jessica chuckle.

"Yes! The baby loved it! Since then the kicks have gotten a lot stronger."

"Great! Okay, let's go ahead and take a look at this strong little baby. Are you two wanting to find out the gender today?"

"Yes!" Danny quickly answers.

"I'm hoping we can find out today, because if not, he's gonna be really upset." Jessica laughs.

"Aw, well let's see what we can do!"

...

"This is my child, I feel like they're going to be stubborn." Danny says.

Jessica laughs. "Can you tell?" She asks the nurse.

"Nope, the baby's like it's daddy!"

"Dammit!" Danny whines.

"Jessica, why don't you roll over on your side and see if the baby moves?" She suggests.

"Okay."

Jessica does what she is asked and after a couple minutes they check again.

"Still nothing?" Danny asks.

"Nope!"

"Awe man! You are grounded, baby!" He says pointing to her belly.

Jessica laughs and the nurse suggests that Jessica drink some water.

"I'll grab you a bottle and I'll be right back."

"Okay."

"Water?"

Jessica shrugs. "I guess it'll wake the baby up?  It's gonna be cold on my little prince or princess!" She pouts.

"Aww!"Danny chuckles.

Finally after drinking water she lays back down to see if the baby has moved.

"The water did the trick!" The nurse says.

"YES! What is it?" Danny asks holding Jessica's hand.

"Let's see.. are you sure you wanna know?"

"Yes!" They both answer.

"Okay!" She laughs. "You two are having a baby Girl!"

"AHH! A GIRL!" Jessica cheers.

"I KNEW IT! Oh my gosh, I'm gonna have a princess!" Danny smiles.

"Aw!" Jessica says with tears in her eyes.

Danny hugs her tightly and says, "Thank you, Jessica!"

"Aw, you're so sweet!"

"I can't believe we're having a girl!"

"It's so crazy." Jessica smiles softly as she wipes her tears.

These moments with Danny were so incredible, but she couldn't help but have Sarah constantly on her mind.  She was tired of this break, and wanted to start working on their marriage as soon as possible.

Danny on the other hand was having the time of his life.  Everything was perfect!  Well, Almost perfect.  He had a nice place, some time off, and now a baby girl on the way.  The one thing that wasn't perfect, was that the woman he loved so much, didn't love him back.  She saw him as her best friend, and father of her baby girl; but nothing more.
