Exhausted
Sarah parked the car and grabbed Jessica's bags to bring them in.
"Sarah let me take something, I'm not unless!"
"I know, but you're my guest and you're pregnant, you shouldn't be doing anything but relaxing."
"Are you sure? I feel bad."
"Of course I'm sure! Don't you worry about it, sweetie!" She smiles.
"Thanks, Sarah. I guess I'm just not used to.. well, being treated like I'm pregnant. Or that I even matter."
"Of course you matter!
Has Sam been making you do things you're not supposed to?"
"Yeah.. He doesn't help me with anything. At the beginning of my pregnancy.. Well all of my pregnancies, I was SO sick! I couldn't even think about food without getting sick, and every morning and night I had to cook for him.
He makes me clean the house, which I know isn't bad, but he doesn't help me at all. This isn't just dusting and sweeping, which that alone is bad on my back. This is cleaning the high things, having to sand on chairs, smelling cleaning products that make my head spin. He's just a horrible person."
"Oh sweetie, I hate hearing that. But at least you're away from him now. Just get him out of your mind, he's not worth or time or energy."
Jessica gives her a small smile and they walk into her apartment.
"So this room right here, is yours. I made sure you stayed in this one, because there's a bathroom. I know you probably go fifty times during the night with these babies." She laughs.
"At least!"
"Hah! Also, it has a huge tub, so you can relax in a hot bath no matter how big you get." She smiles.
"Thanks, Sarah. This is perfect.. You're so sweet.. I don't know what I'd do without you."
"Awe.. I'm happy to help, Jess. You're my best friend, and I love you."
"I love you too." She smiles.
"...So uh.. What would you like to eat? I'm sure you're starving."
"A little, but I just want to take a nap, I'm so exhausted. Is that okay?"
"Sure it's okay! Change into some comfortable clothes and sleep as long as you want, I'll make us some dinner so that it's ready when you wake up."
"Thanks, Sar."
"No problem, Jess."
***
Dorothy and Albert's POV.
"What is this?" Dorothy looks at a letter that was left for them.
"It's from Jessica..."
"What does it say?"
".. Oh my God.."
"What?!" Albert panics.
"She left."
"Left?! Left to where?"
"She went to New York."
"What she do that for?!"
"It says,
Hi mom and dad, I'm sorry you're finding out this way, but I left. I left Sam and I'm moving to New York to stay with Sarah. I want you to know that I'm not running away from you. I can't take Sam anymore. I can't take anymore of the abuse. There is a lot of things I have hidden from you, because I was scared, but I can't do it anymore. I lost three babies because of him, and now that I'm having twins and everything is going smooth, I needed to get away before something horrible happened. You can visit me and the babies anytime you want, but please, please do not tell Sam where I am!
I love you and the family so so much, and I hope you all understand why I left.
Oh my God, Al, how did we never know about this?! Our poor little girl has been in a terrible marriage and we had no idea about it."
"That bastard. I'll kill him!" He walks towards the door.
"No Al, you can't go over there! We can't let him know that we know about Jessie!" She grabs his arm and pulls him back.
"Well what am I supposed to do?! Jesus Christ, how could I have not known about this? Our baby was hurt and we were clueless."
"Oh I feel sick to my stomach." Dorothy says.
"At least she left, and she's safe."
"Yeah.. But, Al.. Jessica is a celebrity, She can't hide from him forever. How will she hide completely fro the public?"
"I don't know.."
"Especially in New York! She has to go somewhere else!"
