lunar eclipse

It felt like hours.

Kennedy held Stiles under the water for minutes. Isaac looked down at Allison, unsure how much longer he could do this. Deaton looked down at Scott, using the McCall as a reference to when to bring them back up. Kennedy sighed, not sure what to do.

"Okay, okay," Deaton said. Kennedy let go of them, stepping back

"And now what?" Isaac asked.

Deaton looks at them, "We wait."

Lydia and Kennedy sat next to each other on the ground. "We should eat." Kennedy muttered.

"I could go get us some coffee?" Lydia offers. "I need some...anything other than this.

Kennedy laughed tiredly. "Yeah, sure,"

Isaac looked over at Kennedy, seeing the exhausted look on her face. "Why don't you get some rest, I'm sure they'll wake you up when they do." Isaac offered. Kennedy shook her head.

"No, no, I want to be there for Stiles." She muttered. She leaned onto the wall, staring at the tins in wait. Isaac sat down next to her, looking over. She looked back at him. "How long have you liked Allison?"

The Lahey looks up, "Oh, it's not like that," Kennedy rose a brow at Isaac, causing him to slouch his shoulders. "It's kinda new. I'm not really sure what it is."

Kennedy hugged her knees, looking back at him. "And why not?" She asked him. Isaac looked at her, trying to figure out how to answer. He knew the right answer, but could he be honest?

"It's just different."

It's not you.

He swallowed the lump in his throat as he looked at her. Kennedy sighed, leaning her head on Isaac's shoulder. To her, it was nothing more than a friendly, fully platonic gesture, but for Isaac it was so much more. "Well, she's a good person. You'd make her happy." She told him softly. Isaac looked down at her, watching her stare at Stiles's tub. She loved Stiles. It'd never be what he wanted it to be, no matter how many dreams he had of it happening. It would always be Stiles.

It wasn't long until Kennedy's eyes fluttered close, her fingers linked with Isaac's as she finally fell asleep. Lydia came back with coffee, watching the Lahey just admire her oblivious best friend. The ginger smiled sadly, feeling empathy for the werewolf boy who was now trying to move on.

"Doomed love stories always hurt the worst." Lydia whispers, handing Isaac a coffee. Isaac looked up, taking the drink in his free hand. He didn't reply, he didn't need to, because it was true. They were never able to have their fairytale, they were doomed.

༺❀༻

Hours upon hours had passed. Kennedy had gotten plenty of sleep, gotten lots of coffee, and they still hadn't woken up. The Hale was now in Stiles's sweatshirt, needing some sort of comfort. Kennedy sat next to Lydia. "I still can't believe our math teacher gave me a 97% on the test. I deserved at least 98%!"

Lydia nods, "No, yeah, I agree. We got the same answer, and I got it right!" She told the brunette.

"Maybe Jennifer should've taken them instead." Kennedy mumbled, causing Lydia to roll her eyes playfully. Isaac looked at the two girls questioningly.

"Are you two seriously talking about school right now?"

Kennedy looked over, "Sorry, my life isn't about emo brooding werewolves all the time." She replied. Isaac gasped dramatically, pretending to be offended as he put his hand over his chest. Lydia and Kennedy giggled, looking back at each other.

Everyone stopped when Allison jumped up. Stiles and Scott soon followed. Everyone stumbled onto their feet as they watched the three teens.

Scott speaks up first, "I saw it. I know where it is."

"We passed it." Stiles rambled, "There's a stump, this huge tree. Well, it's not huge anymore. It was cut down. But it's still big, though, very big."

Scott nods, "It was the night we were looking for the body."

"Yeah, the same night you were bit by Peter," Stiles
followed.

Allison looks over, "I was there too, in the car with my mother. We almost hit someone."

Scott looks up, "It was me. You almost hit me." He told the girl. They all breathed heavily. Scott looked over. "We can find it."

The three teens looked over, seeing the nervous looks on everyone else's faces. "What?" Allison asks.

"You guys were out a long time." Isaac mumbles.

Stiles looks between them, "How long is a long time?"

"16 hours." Deaton says.

The three previously dead teens all share crazed looks. "We've been in the water for 16 hours?" Scott asks.

Kennedy nods, "And the full moon rises in less than four." She replies.

Everyone started helping the three teens dry off. Kennedy stood next to Scott as he offered the idea of going back to the Alpha Pack. "No, dude, you are not going back with them." Stiles remarks.

"I made a deal with Deucalion."

Stiles looks around, "Does anyone else think that sounds a lot like a deal with the devil?"

"Why does it matter, anyway?" Asked Isaac

Scott looks down at his feet. "Because I still don't think that we can beat Jennifer without their help."

Allison keeps herself wrapped in to. She looks at Deaton. "He trusts you more than anyone. Tell him he's wrong." She remarks.

"I'm not so sure he is." Deaton tells her honestly "Circumstances like this sometimes require that you align yourself with people you'd normally consider enemies."

Isaac raises a brow, "So we're gonna trust him, the guy that calls himself death, destroyer of worlds? We're gonna trust that guy?"

"I wouldn't trust him, no, But you could use him to your advantage. Deucalion may be the enemy, but he could also be the bait." Deaton tells them. The door freaks open, and Kennedy's nose fills with a scent. She turns around, storming to the front.

Ethan stands there, looking at Deaton, Scott, Lydia, and Kennedy. "I'm looking for Lydia."

"What do you want?" Lydia asks, crossing her arms

"I need your help."

Kennedy crosses her arms, "With what?" She asked as Stiles came up, standing behind her.

Ethan looked over, "Stopping my brother and Kali," He trailed off, looking at Kennedy, "From killing Derek."

Kennedy's face falls, "What?"

Kennedy followed Scott, Isaac, and Allison into the Argent's apartment. She was going to go with Stiles, but Allison promised Kennedy a change of clothes, which she definitely needed.

"Just grab anything," Scott says in the phone, "Stiles, I'm not smelling your dad's boxers. Socks?" Kennedy giggles as Scott sighs, "Okay, I'll smell the socks."

Isaac looks coed, "What about me?"

Allison opens the door, "See what you can find in my dad's closet. Anything with the strongest scent." She said as she walks into her dads office. She froze in the door way.

Agent McCall sat in the chair at the desk, "Quite an arsenal your father's got here, young lady." The McCall took a few steps forward, Kennedy and Isaac staying back "Scott."

"What are you doing here?"

"Following one of the only leads I have." Rafael remarks, "Now, since I don't know where you've been, Why don't you have a seat, and we can talk? You too, Isaac, Kennedy Hale."

Issac slowly steps forward, poking his head in the door, "How do you know my name?"

"How do you know my last name?" Kennedy frowned, doing the same as Isaac.

Agent Mccall looks at them, "Your name's one of the few things I know." He said. "To be honest, the rest of what's going on around here has me stumbling in the dark, even over the smallest clue."

"If you're trying to tell me that you don't have a clue, I learned that a long time ago." Scott said, stepping in front of everyone.

"I'm really hoping to avoid the embarrassment of dragging my own son into an interrogation room." Rafael says. Kennedy looks at him with an annoyed look, "Really hoping."

Minutes passed, Kennedy sat next to Isaac and Scott. Scott sat in a chair, playing with his hands. She looked at Isaac, who fiddled with an ice breakers box. Allison sat in the other chair, staring at the McCall.

"I'm not gonna lie. I'm more than a little disturbed, Not only by the number of missing parents, But the fact that it's Stiles's father, your father, and your mother."

Isaac raises his hand, "Mine are both dead." He remarks, taking a ice breaker and putting it in his mouth.

Kennedy gasps, "Mine too!" She chimes, taking a mint from the Lahey. Though Peter wasn't technically dead, as far as the outside world knew, he was. That, and Ben and Sloane are dead, so that counts for something.

Agent McCall holds up his hands, "Save the cliched teenage apathy for your high school teachers." Kennedy scowls, leaning closer to Isaac in annoyance. "The four of you know more than you're saying, and I'm fully willing to keep you here all night if I have to." He threatens.

Scott looks at the arrowheads on the desk, trying to develop an idea. Kennedy groaned in boredom, leaning back onto Isaac. Isaac felt his heart skip a beat. He liked Allison, but it was so new. Kennedy was someone he liked since he was in her 6th grade class and they were table partners. Ever since, not many girls had been on his mind. But maybe it was a good thing for him, to meet someone new like Allison.

"You can't keep us here." Scott said.

Allison shook her head, "Not without some kind of warrant."

"I've got a desk full of probable cause." Agent McCall said as he looked at the weaponry around him.

Allison stood up, "My father is a highly respected private security consultant and federally licensed firearms dealer." She began, "That means he has to own a few weapons." She pointed down at the one in front of her, "Like this 175-pound draw tactical crossbow or this carbon steel marine combat knife, .50ae desert eagle." She looked down, humming as she grabbed a small metal container, "Smoke grenade with pull ring igniter." She said before pulling the igniter.

"Go!" Isaac yelled, grabbing Kennedy.

"Wait, I never got new clothes!" Kennedy complained.

Isaac paused, looking back at her. "Are you serious right now?" He asked sarcastically. Kennedy shrugged, causing Isaac to grab her wrist and pull her along.

Kennedy hops off Scott's bike, having gotten the chance to change when they stopped at Stiles's house. "Are you okay?" Allison asked.

Scott shrugged, "I didn't know what to say to him. I couldn't come up with anything, But what you did, that was awesome."

Isaac looked at his phone, "I still haven't gotten anything from Stiles, you?"

Kennedy shook her head. "I don't get it." Scott said in confusion.

"All right. Well, we can't wait for him. Come on." Scott checked his phone to see if he had anything from Stiles. Nothing.

Kennedy sighed, "Maybe he's not answering cause he wants to keep his eyes on the road," She began. "Come on," The two followed Allison and Isaac.

The storm continued on as they stood at the lookout, Kennedy sighed, wishing she could be here under different circumstances. "Cutting it a little close, aren't we, Scott?"

Scott looked back, "We got a little delayed." He said, "Where are the others?"

"Occupying themselves with other pursuits."

Scott rose a brow, "So it's just you and me against her?"

Deucalion shrugged, "I think you'll be surprised what a good team we make. Along with Kennedy Valet, of course." Kennedy looked down, the name feeling wrong.

"Okay, get Stiles, And then get to the root cellar, okay?" Scott said to Isaac and Allison. "We'll keep Jennifer away long enough for you to get them out of there."

Isaac looked over, "How are you gonna do that?"

Scott looked at Kennedy. "I have a plan." He said. The McCall held out his hand, looking at his best friend. Kennedy smiles confidently, taking Scott's hand.

༺❀༻

Kennedy followed Scott and Deucalion into the abandoned building. She looked around curiously. "You said you had a plan." Deucalion said.

Scott looks at the Alpha, "On the first day of class, Jennifer sent all of us a message. It was the last line from joseph Conrad's heart of darkness." He said to him, "We got a message of our own to send her."

Scott pulled out his phone, holding it up to the door of the building. "You see this symbol? It's a symbol of revenge." The camera turned to him, Deucalion, and Kennedy. "You talk about balance, about saving people. We know what you really want, And now you know where to find us."

The video cut off and Kennedy looked over, "Okay, cool, now what?" She asked.

Deucalion looked at her, "Now we wait." He said to her. Kennedy watched as he walked away from her.

"Did you know?" She blurts. Scott looked at her in confusion. Deucalion slowed his pace. "What I was?"

The Alpha hummed, "I hoped I was correct." He said. "A Seer is very rare."

"What is a Seer?" Asks Scott. "Like what does it mean?"

Deucalion walked up to Kennedy slowly. "Oracles, prophets, and shamans. In the ancient world, Babylonian, Egyptian, and Greek seers often relied on the interpretation of dreams to predict the future, believing dreams to be messages or warnings from the gods." Scott looked at Kennedy as Deucalion explained. "The Druids were said to be seers and magicians. Like the prophets of the ancient Near East, they sometimes held political power as advisers to rulers." He said, "The Druid Cathbadh, who advised King Conchobhar of Ulster in Ireland, foresaw the destruction of the kingdom. Druidic ceremonies of divination included human and animal sacrifice."

"So she's part Druid?" Scott asked, confused by the story itself. It didn't make much sense to either teen, and it'd probably be harder to explain to everyone else later.

Deucalion reaches up, studying Kennedy's face with his fingertips. "It was her Grandmother. Diana Theroux. She was the Emissary to the Valet's, before she was bit and turned into one of them." He explained. "But she managed to keep her ability. The ability to see what other's could not."

A figure in the darkness made its appearance. It was Jennifer. Kennedy frowns when there was now a second figure. "Derek," She whispered. How could he do this? Betray Scott, betray her?

Jennifer and Derek stood side by side. "What are you doing?" Scott asked.

"This might be hard to believe, But I'm actually trying to help you." Derek told them.

Deucalion stood next to Kennedy, "Ooh, like brother against brother." He said finally, "How very American this is." He said, as he folded up his walking stick. "Are you ready, Jennifer? Did you gather your herbs, Pray to your ancient gods and your oak trees, Slit a baby's throat, perhaps? Should we show them why you needed to sacrifice nine innocent people Just to face me?" Kennedy slid off her denim jacket, taking Deucalions as he walked towards Jennifer. His face was slowly changing, "Or is it 12 now?" Kennedy stepped back as he let out a roar, running at the Darach.

Derek's face changed, and his eyes turned blue. Kennedy was shocked, seeing that Derek wasn't an alpha anymore. Derek attacked the Alpha, but Deucalion laughed as he grabbed Derek's arms. Kennedy looked over at Jennifer, who tried to use her magic against him. Deucalion looked down, chuckling before grabbing the two by their throats. Kennedy watched in astonishment as he threw Jennifer backwards. Derek fell to the ground, and tried to go after Deucalion again. Derek flies into tires. Jennifer runs at the Alpha and in one punch shes back on the ground.

Kennedy and Scott look at each other in surprise. Deucalion grabs Jennifer, placing her in front of the two teens. "Kill her." Kennedy looked at Scott, "Do it." The Alpha roared. Kennedy groaned as she fell to the ground. Scott's face changed, as did Kennedy's. Scott looked up, "Now kill her. Your parents are dying. That storm you hear, she's burying them alive. It's her connection to the telluric currents. Kill her, and it ends."

Jennifer shakes her head. "It won't end. Not with me. He'll have you kill everyone you love. It's what he does."

"They're dying, Scott. Your mother and the parents of your best friends. Kill her now, and it's over." Deucalion said, "Become the alpha you're meant to be. Become a killer."

Scott looks up, "They're not dead yet."

"And who's going to save them, your friends?"

Kennedy slowly stood up, Scott following suit. Kennedy smiled as her eyes turned yellow. "Our pack." Scott's eyes turned yellow as well. Deucalion snarls, rushing over to the two teens and grabbing them by the back of their necks. Deucalion snaps Kennedy's arm, causing her to scream in pain.

"Maybe you just need a little guidance." Deucalion snarled, holding Scott's claws out.

"I forgot to tell you something." Scott said, "Something that Gerard told me." The Alpha looked over in confusion. "Deucalion, isn't always blind."

Kennedy pulls out the metal arrow heads Scott looked at earlier in Allison's apartment, throwing them to the ground. Deucalion stumbled back, throwing his arms around frantically. Kennedy covers her eyes, falling to the ground as she feels her arm finally heal. She looks down, seeing her claws are gone. In fact, she felt human

Deucalion looked around, "The eclipse. It started."

Scott stumbled to his feet, seeing Jennifer was gone. "Oh, no." He whispered. Kennedy stood up, looking around in confusion.

Then, a figure was there in the distance. Kennedy squinted as she saw what looked like a bald, scarred woman. "God, what an ugly outfit." Kennedy muttered. The Darach uses her hands to send the two teens backwards. Kennedy lands on metal canisters and boxes.

Jennifer starts fighting Deucalion. Kennedy groans as she looks over. Blood puddles fall onto the ground from Deucalion's skull. Kennedy breathed heavily, unsure what to do.

"Jennifer!" Derek calls out, stepping out. "He doesn't know."

"Know what?"

Derek looked at the girl, "What you really look like. He knows the cost of bringing Kali into his pack, But he's never seen the price you paid." He told her.

Jennifer looks down at the Alpha. "No, no he hasn't."She said finally. Kennedy groaned as she pushed herself up. Deucalion screamed as Jennifer put her hand over his eyes. When she stopped, Deucalion looked around as he finally saw the things around him. "Turn to me. Turn to me!" Deucalion looked over, seeing the normal girl. Jennifer stumbled, causing Derek to catch her. "What is this?"

"Healing him made you weak, just like healing Cora did to me." Derek explained. "You won't have your strength for at least a few minutes."

"Then you do it. Kill him."

Derek shook his head at her, "No." He whispered slowly.

Jennifer frowned in confusion. "What?"

"Like my mother used to say, I'm a predator. I don't have to be a killer." He held her by her throat. "Let them go." Jennifer snarls as she grabs him, pushing him to the ground. Kennedy watched as Jennifer started hitting Derek, over and over again.

Kennedy fell back again, her head hurting from when Jennifer threw her. Jennifer started hitting Derek, over and over. Kennedy watched the moon start to move. The 15 minutes were almost over.

Kennedy stood up, her eyes flashing yellow. She grabbed Jennifer by the hair, pulling her backwards. "Your 15 minutes are up," Kennedy growls before throwing Jennifer backwards.

Derek looked at his cousin, "Thanks," He said. Kennedy shrugged, turning back to Jennifer.

The dark Druid pulled out something from her pockets, throwing up black dust. Kennedy scoffed as she realized it was Mountain Ash. The same thing that almost killed her. "Like I told you, Derek, either you or the parents." Jennifer snapped. She looked at Scott and Kennedy. "Well, I guess I'll just have to take them now. In a few minutes, they'll be dead, and I won't need a lunar eclipse, even to kill a demon wolf." Kennedy looked at the McCall, who had a stern look on his face. She slowly held out her hand, letting Scott take it. Jennifer scoffed. "You've already tried this before." She says, a smirk on her face. "I don't remember you having much success."

The pair of friends share a look. Kennedy loooked back at the Druid, both her and Scott pushing against the wall built by mountain ash. The pressure built around her body as she grunted in pain. She kept her grip on Scott's hand, pushing father in. Derek looked at them, seeing Scott and Kennedy's eyes turn gold.

Jennifer's smile falters as she sees the two make it father than before. Their bodies ached and screamed, but neither of them stopped. The girl lets out a loud scream, which was more of a roar as her and her friend continue to fight. And then, the boys hand breaks through the field. Jennifer steps back seeing Kennedy's arm get through. Kennedy looks at the McCall, and she's shocked when she sees his golden eyes, turn into a bright red. Stepping back, Jennifer glances at the Hale, and her mouth gapes open as the girls now golden eyes, fade into that same red. The two friends tighten their grips on each other. Kennedy grunts, her foot stepping over the black line. Scott is next. Scott looks over at the Hale, and two share a final smile, before both of them taking a final step.

The Mountain ash disperses, breaking the wall entirely as the two teens step in. Jennifer falls to the ground from impact. Scott and Kennedy looked down at her.  Jennifer stumbled back. "How did you do that?"

Scott rose a brow. "I'm an alpha now."

Kennedy shrugged, "Correction, we're Alpha's now," She chirped happily with a smirk.

"Whatever you're doing to cause this storm, make it stop, or I'll kill you myself." Scott threatens, "I don't care what it does to the color of my eyes."

Deucalion stands behind Scott and Kennedy, "It won't change the color of mine, so allow me." Deucalion snarls as he steps forwards. Kennedy doesn't move as she watches Deucalion slash Jennifer's neck. Jennifer falls, her face now her real one. Kennedy looks around the room in shock, seeing the storm begin to finally calm down. She sighs, looking over at the McCall. She giggled, hugging the McCall tightly. They won. They really won. Scott grabs onto the girls small figure, holding her in his arms tightly. Kennedy cries in joy as her arms wrap around his neck, all the worries she had finally leaving.

"We should call Stiles," Scott said, "Let him know we're alive," Kennedy laughed in agreement. wrapping her arms around herself as he calls the human.

"Scott?"

Scott looks at Kennedy as Stiles answers, "Hey, are you okay?"

Stiles looks around, "Yeah, we're okay. We're all okay." He says as he looks at the others. "How about you guys, you okay?"

"Sort of." Scott replied.

"You think you can come get us?"

"Yeah, of course."

Stiles nods, "Great, okay. Um, uh, bring a ladder."

Derek looked at Deucalion, "My mother told me you were a man of vision once." He said as they stood with Deucalion. "We're letting you go because we hope you can be that man again."

"But if you're not, then having your eyesight back won't matter," Scott said to him, "Because you'll never see us coming." Kennedy smiled cheerfully, linking arms with Scott and Derek as they turned away from Deucalion, walking away completely.

Kennedy sighs as she walks along side them. "You know, I think we should get some ice cream after this." She remarks. Scott and Derek laugh, shaking their heads.

༺❀༻

Days pass by, and Kennedy rested her head on Stiles's chest, the two of them looking up at his ceiling. "We have to get ready for school." Kennedy whispers. She was going to be staying with the Stilinski's until Derek came back from taking Cora back to South America. If he came back.

"I know," Stiles sighed, tracing shapes on Kennedy's arm. "We won."

Kennedy looked up, her chin on his chest. "Of course we did. We always do." She chirped, kissing Stiles softly.

"And now I have a hot badass Alpha girlfriend." He adds, kissing her again. Kennedy giggles as Stiles grabs her waist, flipping them around so she's on her back. "I love you, you know that?"

The girl smiles, nodding. "And I love you," She says, kissing him again. Stiles pulls her closer to him as he deepens the kiss. Their lips moved in synchronization with one another's, their hands occupied with one another. Kennedy felt like her heart was exploding. A thought crossed her mind. It was early in the morning, the sun had barely start to come out. But the thought lingered as Stiles's fingers ran through her hair.

The two of them sit up, Kennedy climbing into his lap. Her lips traced Stiles's jaw, causing him to close his eyes followed closely by a small groan. Stiles's fingers gripped her hips as she nipped at his neck. Stiles then realized exactly where this was going. Kennedy planted her lips on his, pulling him closer, which wasn't really possible. Her insistent lips collided with his, more intensely than before. His tongue glided along her bottom lip, Kennedy parting her lips on instinct, the kiss becoming instantly more passionate than before. Kennedy's hands slowly reached to the bottom of Stiles's shirt, which the boy easily let her take off. Kennedy's fingertips raked over his chest as they continued. Stiles paused their movements, pulling his lips away from hers. Stiles held her face in his hands, slowly pulling away as he looked up at her.

"Are you sure?"

The question was important. This was different than the first time, or the second time. Just a few months ago, Stiles and Kennedy were in the Stallard home, on a January night, completing a bet they made when they were barely teens. And now, here they were. They were dating, they were in love. And Kennedy didn't mind that she didn't have the body count of people, who were definitely more experienced than her in this moment. Kennedy didn't mind it was only Stiles, and she didn't mind the idea of Stiles being her only.

Kennedy studied Stiles's face. She wanted to trace every birthmark on his cheek, and study the beautiful constellation it would make. She wanted to be with Stiles. In whatever way that meant. She smiled softly, nodding at him. A grin spreads on Stiles's face as he pulls her in again. Kennedy quietly moaned when Stiles kisses down her neck, similarly like she did to him. His fingers looped around the hem of her tank top, and with a swift movement the clothing item was discarded. Kennedy blushed as she sat there in her red bra, and Stiles looked her over before a bigger smile was on his face.

After their endeavors, wink wink, Kennedy and Stiles walk into school hand in hand. Kennedy's brown curls bounced as she walked, looking back at Stiles who gave her a usual loving smile. She paused her steps, pecking him on the lips. Kennedy turned to face everything in front of her. She smiles as she sees Scott standing there, doing the same. Lydia and Aiden flirted by her locker, which they usually did, and Kennedy watched Ethan walked out of class hand in hand with Danny. Allison walked down the stairs, talking to Isaac as they laughed. Kennedy knowingly giggled, waiting for Isaac and Allison to take the next step into the romance department.

The Stilinski gripped his girlfriends hand, the two of them walking again. Stiles slapped Scott on the back, causing Scott to smile at him. Kennedy squeezed herself in between them. The two boys laughed at her, all of them walking down the hall together. It was the Three Muskateers, their new label for themselves since the Glen Capri. Scott McCall, Kennedy Hale, and Stiles Stilinski. Nothing could be better than this for any of them. They lost so much, and they knew the chaos wasn't over yet, but that was okay. Because, at the end of it all, the three of them would stick together. They were their own pack.
