Okayyyy, before i start this chapter, if you have read 'Ebube' by @Adaezekingz, there's a surprise in here😂😉, you'll see one of the characters, he wasn't really a main character in the book sha but I'm sure you guys will remember him😂and before you ask, i asked for permission from the author before I used one of her characters... with all that said, you can now read😂

Dieko

"Wow!." Nmesoma gasps as she looks around, "Abuja is a fine place o, I can't believe I've never been here."

"Don't sha start walking around, they said we should stay here together." I warn pulling my cardigan over my head, it's pretty chilly out here.

"I must take pictures to post on my IG page." Feyi makes to bring out her phone. I burst out laughing shaking my head. This children.

It's not even a fine place, what is Nmesoma saying?, Oh well, maybe it's because I've practically lived here all my life.

"Hey, you okay?." Feyi whispers putting her arm around my shoulders, "See where we're staying, I don't think it's anywhere near your house."

"I know." I nod.

She's about to open her mouth to say something again when our history teacher, Mrs Nwachukwu, comes back and tells us to be quiet so she can talk, we all know what she's going to say, she's going to remind us that we should be on our best behaviour, that boys must not go into the girl's rooms in the hotel and vice versa, we must be up early for the bus to be able to take us to where the conference is to be held on time, blah blah blah.

"Squeee." Feyi jumps clutching my arm tight.

"Erm, I'll really appreciate it if you like move away from me, you're stopping the blood flow in my arm." I eye her.

"Sorry." She smiles pulling away, "I'm just so excited, we're staying in the same room."

"Really?, How do you know?."

"Haven't you been listening?, She's been calling everyone's names and who and who are sharing rooms, it's me, you, Nmeso and Bridget, just what I hoped for ."

"Thank God, at least I don't have to room with Yemisi, that irritating girl." I roll my eyes.

Feyi laughs. "As much as I love you, I don't appreciate you talking about her like that, she's one of my best friends you know."

"Abeg, leave that one, the kind of friends you keep ehn." I hiss.

"Your own dey for your body, let's go inside, I can't wait to see our room." She squeals.

I roll my eyes as I pick up my bags, the girl is always so dramatic.

"Seriously, Nmeso, put off that music, we have to be up early tomorrow." Feyi groans, I almost burst out laughing.

"Better don't complain o." I tell her, "Because when you used to do it for me in the room, you don't used to know."

"Payback is a bitch, girl." Bridget laughs too.

"You guys are just so annoying."

"I like your friends, Dieko, they are so nice, especially Dorothy." Nmeso gushes.

I smile. "Yeah, she's the nicest of the two."

Apparently, we weren't the only school staying in the hotel, apart from us, there were like three other schools including Creative Minds, I had introduced Ife and Dorothy to the girls and they got along quite well, I was even kinda happy Akin didn't come, it would have been so awakward.

"I really miss Lanre, I dont know why he's not picking up, I've been calling him since." Bridget pouts.

"Ehen, noo, don't start this one this night." Nmesoma protests, "You just want to show us that you have a boyfriend and we don't, that you are taken and we are lonely."

"I'm not lonely with you o, I'm taken abeg." Feyi takes some damatol powder in her hand and rubs it on her face.

"Den den den, shebi I said it, it's that Eri guy, you sha have eye sha, you picked a fine one." Bridget says.

"Trust me naw." Feyi smiles proudly.

I shake my head laughing.

"Um, so it's just me and Dieko then."

"Nooo." Bridget says again, "Dieko is taken too." She gives me a knowing look.

I snort. "By who Biko?, Or did you find boyfriend for me?."

"Don't play dumb with me joor, you think I don't know about you and Timi, Lanre even told me himself, he said Timi is in love, he wanted to know if you liked him back but I was like I can't tell because I can't betray you like that naw."

"Thank God." I sigh, "I can't have Timi thinking I'm one obssessed person like this."

"So you do like him?." Nmeso grins, "Sha be careful, Yemi is going to kill you."

"Why would she?." Feyi asks.

"Is it that you people are blind ni?, Yemisi likes Timi, aspa sinceee." She snaps her fingers maybe showing the amount of 'since'.

"I kinda noticed, she's been behaving weird lately, but I didnt think it was like that." Feyi says.

"Shior, it's like that o." Nmeso hisses.

"What room is she in by the way?, I haven't spoken to her in a while." Bridget butts in.

"Me too." Feyi says.

"I tried talking to her like last week, if you see how she reacted ehn, asif she wanted to bite me, just because I asked her if she likes Timi, you know me I like amebo, I wanted to confirm for myself."

"Aproko will not kill you, shebi I used to tell you, until that girl will beat you." Bridget laughs.

"But she's our friend naw, we are meant to talk sense into her, abi Dieko, what do you think?." Nmeso turns to me.

"Please, I don't care about that girl one bit, she can hang herself for all I care, my own is she should sha not near my man, she's-"

"Your man?." Bridget bursts out laughing cutting me off, "I go love o."

I bury my face into my pillow groaning internally, why the hell did I say that?, Why would I call him my man especially in front of these ones?, We are not even dating.

'Yet.' My subconscious adds.

"Ehen, Bridget, abeg, who is that boy you were talking to today?, That one that has full hair, he's very fine." Nmeso asks.

"Was he wearing a light green shirt?." Bridget says.

"Yes." Nmeso nods eagerly.

"Oh, he's my family friend, his name is Kelvin." She explains.

"Ah, please give that boy my number."

"Maka why?."

"He's your friend naw, use style and sha introduce me to him, I need to meet him."

"Kelvin is not someone you can date o, he's not boyfriend material, his ex girlfriend even broke up with him because he cheated on her and he's way out of your league, he's in Uni, he graduated from Rosevelts High last year, I don't even know why he's here in Abuja cause he's obviously not here for NISSMUN." She explains

"Kai, he cheated ke?, Why is it that all the fine boys are either players or they are way older than me?, where am I meant to find a boyfriend?."

"See you, you'll die single, I've been telling you since." Feyi bursts out laughing.

My new iPhone beeps indicating a message. I bring it out from under my pillow to see a text message from Timi. I open it eagerly.

Timi: Hey:-), can we call?.

Dieko: Nah, I'm talking with the girls.

Timi: So no time for me then?:-(

Dieko: No naw😂.

Timi: It's true, I waited for you this evening by the hotel cafeteria, you didn't come.

Dieko: Lol, why were you waiting for me?.

Timi: Are you joking right now?.

Dieko: No, I'm serious, why were you waiting for me?.

Timi: I told Yemisi to tell you to meet me there, I wanted to tell you something.

I almost hiss, so of all people to tell it was Yemisi he saw.

Dieko: Oh, why Yemisi?.

Timi: She's your friend, isn't she?.

Dieko: Lol.

Timi: 😂😂😂which one is Lol, yes or no?.

Dieko: Abeg, do you have anything else to say?😂, It's kinda late incase you haven't noticed.

Timi: 😂I saw what you did there.

Dieko: 😂😂...what did you want to tell me btw?.

Timi: Oh nothing, it wasn't important.

Dieko: oh...okayyy...who are you rooming with?.

Timi: Noya, Henry and Lanre.

Dieko: Oh cool.

Even though I know it's not cool like at all, why would Noya be sharing a room with my boo.

Jesus, Dieko, get a hold of yourself, relax, he's not your boo.

'Yet.' My subconscious adds again.

Dieko: Is Lanre okay?.

Timi: Yeah, why wouldn't he be?.

Dieko: Bridget said she's been trying to call him but he's not been picking up, she's kinda worried.

Timi: Oh, he switched his phone off, he slept early, he has a headache.

Dieko: Oh, okay.

Timi: I really wanted to hear your voice tonight.

Dieko: Whines😂😂I bet you say this to all the girls on your CL.

Timi: 😂No naw.

Dieko: I hear.

Timi: I have to go now, the guys want me to do something with them, see you tomorrow. Goodnight❤️

He put a love emoji...oh yes, I'm practically dancing around in my head.

I don't text him back because...you know that thing when you don't want to like be the last person to speak for that day...I don't know if you guys understand but sha...I put the phone back on my pillow and look around. Bridget and Nmeso are already asleep, Feyi is awake though, probably chatting with Eri.

I put my head on my pillow with a feeling of contentment within me.

Bridget said it herself, Lanre said he likes me and then the love emoji, and then he texted me first, that must mean he was thinking of me right?. If only I can just hear him say it to me himself...
