Katarina Bullock had her fingers crossed in her lap, a habit she'd been doing since she was little. As if crossing her fingers did anything. She made sure the gesture couldn't be seen by the casting director, the show director, and Mr. Riordan on the other side of the zoom call, where they were asking some other girls questions.

It was down to her and two other girls her age. The anticipation was killing her. This was her dream role.

She'd sent in a tape to audition for season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Sure, season 2 hadn't even begun filming but they started the casting process for this early because of the amount of new characters that would be introduced.

Rina was going for Zoe Nightshade, hunter oF Artemis and daughter of Atlas. She's always loved Zoe, her stoicism, her courage, her loyalty.

Also what actor wouldn't want to die tragically in a role? 

Rina's mom, Sandra Bullock, was off camera, holding Rina's free hand and smiling reassuringly. Rina was glad her mom had an off day today. It was a very important day.

Two tones rang on the screen. The two other girls had logged off. What did that  mean? Was she supposed to go? Why Hadn't she been paying attention?

"Oh, my gosh, I'm so sorry. Are we supposed to go?" God, Rina, don't sound so nervous, she thought to herself, mentally facepalming.

Mr. Riordan, writer of the percy jackson books and the most awesome guy ever laughed a bit and shook his head.

"Nope, Miss Bullock, not you." He told her, smiling.

Rina arched a brow, oblivious as ever. Her mom smiled big, though Rina couldn't tell why.

The casting director, Denise, smiled and leaned back in her chair. "Miss Bullock, how would you like to be our Zoe Nightshade?" She asked, beaming.

And that was the moment that Katarina Bullock exploded.

She started laughing, hysterical and excited. "Oh my god, really?!" Mr. Riordan nodded, laughing at Rina's hysterics. "You're perfect for her."

Rina's mom smiled and hugged her, laughing as well.

"OH MY GOD!" 

Rina realized how unprofessional she was being and took a breath.

"I mean, oh my god!" She exclaimed, a little quieter. "Thank you so much! this is amazing!"

Denise, the casting director nodded. "You and your mother will be getting emails in the coming weeks about filming, which will begin directly after season two's release next year. If you want, you can also come to Vancouver to meet the cast and see how filming works."

Meet the cast?! Oh my god, this isn't real. 

"Of course! Thank you so much, oh my god." Rina beamed and Mr. Riordan and the Directors closed the call.

" MOM OH MY GOD I'M ZOE NIGHTSHADE!"
