Softpaw could barely keep up with the sounds of many questioning this Graystripe and his partner, but she did hear Firestar calling her forward as the clan began to leave. She focused on moving through the cats to catch up with her mentor. He said nothing to her, but kept her close as they made the journey back to camp. She wondered how Splashpaw and Hazepaw were doing, but she didn't question it out loud, the gathering was over and she would have to wait till next time. The grass under her feet made her paws prickle with anticipation. She wanted to run ahead and just keep running till she no longer could, but it probably wouldn't be such a great idea. Shrinking away from her mentor she made her way to the back of her clan mates making sure to trail behind as the hurried the two tired cats to camp. Once they made it to the trees, she stopped following and turned to watch the moor and the sky. Softpaw wanted so badly to be able to run across the moor, but she knew there were boundaries with the clans and it would only cause trouble if she did so. The stars glittered above and the meows of her clan mates were long gone and she let the wind ruffle her fur as she listened to it. She didn't know how long she sat there, but she did know the moon had moved quite a bit from when she first sat down.

"You'd think you were a loner sitting out here." The sudden meow cause Softpaw to jump as she turned quickly and noticed her mentor's orange fur glowing faintly in the moonlight.

"I-I'm sorry I didn't return to camp Firestar." She bowed her head. "I just wanted to watch the sky." She mewed turning and looking back up at the stars once again.

"Silverpelt is beautiful. There's no shame in looking."

"Silverpelt?" She hasn't noticed Firestar sitting beside her till she could barely feel the breeze in her fur.

"It's where our warrior ancestors live. Watching over the clans." His meow was soft as he glanced up at the stars above.

"Firestar? Is it truly ok for Smokepaw and I to be here?" The curiosity was killing her now and her thoughts drifted back to her naming ceremony and Hollypaw.

"Of course it is. Why wouldn't it be?"

"Because we lived with house folk." Her claws sunk into the grass and dirt nervously, dreading what he would say.

"I once lived with house folk." Her stomach did a flip and she faced him again.

"Really???"

"Yes, but I'm glad that I am here now. It is where I truly belong and I believe you belong here too. Now, let's get to camp before anyone misses us." Her thoughts swirled as she followed her leader back to camp, the breeze leaving her completely this time as she took cover in the trees. Firestar has mentioned their warrior ancestors, yet Softpaw didn't know how to feel about that. What if they didn't believe she were meant to be with the clans. It all hurt her brain as she silently made her way into camp, leaving Firestar's side and into the apprentices den to sleep.
