Softpaw has left Firestar's side a while ago and the sun was beginning to set. She was at her normal spot again where she could feel the wind on her fur and watch over the moor. Her paws prickled as she watched the sun lower in the sky and the urge to run across the moor was almost beyond her control. The ThunderClan apprentice let her paws carry her forward and soon she found herself at the border. If she crossed there would be bad blood between ThunderClan and WindClan, but she felt as though she needed to and so, she wandered around until she found a mud puddle and rolled all in it making sure it covered her scent before taking off to the moor. The wind was howling and the sun had left the sky leaving Silverpelt sparkling above as adrenaline raced through her body. Her heart felt light as she raced through the heather. The fireflies flew through the air along side her as she made her way to the top of a hill. By the time she stopped she was breathless. Purring she watched the fireflies dance around her as she laid down looking above at the sky.

"I wonder if you really are watching up there." She murmured softly as her head lowered to her paws. Sleep was calling to her now and she didn't seem able to stop her eyes from closing.
The world around her seemed different when she opened her eyes. It was cold and lacked what made true life. Her ears twitched in discomfort as she wondered around till she heard voices.

"A kittypet!" Softpaw jumped away from the voice and noticed two toms along with..

"Jaypaw? What are you doing here?"

"It doesn't matter!" He spat looking directly at her and she tilted her head at him before looking back at the two toms. They looked oddly familiar like.. Brambleclaw! They must've been related, she thought. One of the cats launched themselves at her and she let out a hiss of surprise before diving under him quickly and ended up beside Jaypaw wide eyed and her fur fluffed out. She was afraid, but she pushed the fear down and took a defensive stance. Another cat had shown up behind them, but Softpaw paid no mind and continued to stare at the two toms until a tail wrapped around her shoulders.

"Come with me." The she-cat spike calmly as she lead Softpaw and Jaypaw away. When she started running Softpaw didn't run as fast. She wanted to take her time. She could tell there was tension between her clanmate and this she-cat and she didn't want to get in the middle of things.

"You must become a medicine cat!" The she-cat meowed and Softpaw could feel her pelt burn. She shouldn't be here for this. She forced her feeling away as she padded towards her clanmate slowly, brushing her pelt against his and she could feel his body recoil slightly.

"If it's what you must, then you should accept it Jaypaw. I'm sure you'll be the best medicine cat there is." The anger and desperation rolled off her clanmate as he stepped away from her, tail lashing angrily.

"You don't know what it's like! I want to be a warrior! Not a dumb medicine cat!" He growled, but Softpaw remained calm and simply stepped forward and touched her muzzled to his shoulder.

"I know it's not what you want, but we don't always get to pick and choose." She whispered and soon he was gone and she was all alone with the strange she-cat.

"You speak wisely."

"I have a wise leader. Maybe I get it from him." She purred turning towards the cat.

"Maybe so. Softpaw, I want you to support him through this. He will need someone other than his siblings to lean on."

"Of course" Softpaw bowed her head respectively as the she-cat began to fade. When Softpaw woke she could hear paw steps coming her way and she panicked scrambling up and made a dash towards her border. The paw steps followed but once she got close to the border she couldn't hear them anymore. Taking this opportunity, Softpaw slipped into the river and let it wash away all the mud before crossing over to the other side of the river using some stones to help. Once she made sure she was dry enough, she made her way back to ThunderClan camp and her warm nest.
