Chapter 9

Ruby's ship cut through hyperspace, the stars stretching into streaks of light beyond the cockpit. She stood at the controls, a sense of purpose igniting within her. With a playful grin, she reached over and patted Captain Bloom on the head, eliciting a chuckle from him.

"Keep us steady, Captain," she teased before making her way to the room beyond the cockpit. As she entered, she found Kylo, Hux, Luke, Rey, and Finn all sitting around a table, their expressions a mix of anticipation and concern.

"Glad you could join us," Rey said, a smile breaking through the tension. Finn leaned forward, his eyes bright with excitement. "We were just discussing our next move."

Kylo's gaze was intense, and Hux sat with his arms crossed, a calculating look on his face. Ruby took a deep breath, ready to step into the fray. "What's the plan?" she asked, her voice steady as she took her place among them, ready to lead the charge.

Luke moved forward, pointing at the hologram of Snoke's ship projected in the center of the room. It was massive, arrow-shaped, and more imposing than anything Ruby had ever seen. The ship loomed large, its dark silhouette casting a shadow over their plans.

"This is the First Order's flagship," Luke explained, his voice steady. "It's bigger than anything we've faced before, but it has weaknesses. We just need to find them."

Ruby studied the hologram, her mind racing with possibilities. "If it can grow larger, that means it has the capacity for even more firepower," she noted, her brow furrowing in concentration. "We'll need a solid strategy to counter that."

Rey nodded, her determination evident. "We can't let fear dictate our actions. We have to strike before they realize we're coming."

Finn chimed in, "We can use our smaller ships to our advantage, hit them where it hurts."

Hux leaned back, a smirk on his face. "You think you can outmaneuver a ship like that? It's a fortress in space."

Ruby met his gaze, unflinching. "We've done the impossible before, Hux. We can do it again." The room buzzed with energy as they began to strategize, united in their resolve to take on the looming threat.

Ruby turned to Kylo, a gentle smile on her face as she cupped his cheek. "I know it's hard for you to accept, love, but I need you to allow me to turn," she said, her voice steady despite the weight of her words.

Kylo flinched, exchanging glances with Hux and the others, who looked on in disbelief. "Do you two have a secret that might benefit us against the Empress?" Hux asked, his tone skeptical.

Ruby sighed, her gaze drifting to her friends for support. "I'm not human," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.

Luke's eyes widened as he processed her words. He remembered the stories she had shared about her transformation into a monstrous form when his father was threatened. Was she really revealing this now?

Ruby caught Luke's eye and nodded, confirming his unspoken thoughts. "I'm a dragon—a monster, really. It's not like the dragons or Toothless you've seen on Coruscant. I'm bigger, stronger, and much harder to control. Once I let myself go, I become something else entirely." Her expression turned somber as she looked away. "I don't become myself; I lose all self-control. So when I go dragon, you all need to be gone."

The room fell silent, the gravity of her confession settling heavily among them. Luke felt a mix of concern and admiration for Ruby's bravery. "We'll figure it out together," he said softly, hoping to reassure her. "But we need a plan to keep everyone safe."

Kylo's expression softened, understanding the burden she carried. "If this is what it takes to protect us, we'll be ready," he said, determination shining in his eyes. The group exchanged glances, united in their resolve to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
