☆Stars of Gold - Prologue☆
Prologue
When Ryan Tobias was a young girl, only at the age of five did her family, her pureblood family, I might add, move to France. The country, beautiful, the people, wonderful, but Ryan knew that her father wasn't so fond of the country. You see, her mother was French, moving over to England back when she was a young girl only in her twenties, falling in love with her father, a pureblood Slytherin man who wasn't so fond of half-bloods.
So, it was a shock when the man fell in love with a Veela.
Ryan Tobias was part Veela.
Soon, did Ryan and her family move back to England, just before her eleventh birthday, so it wasn't a shock when Ryan got a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, bubbling excitement and hidden smiles, Ryan, with her love for books looked upon the houses, as much as her father praised Slytherin's, Ryan did not see herself as cunning, nor ambitious.
But rather, she saw herself resembling a badger, a Hufflepuff.
But of course, once accepted into that house, the house of Yellow and Black, did her father become a different man, evil soaring through him, like a light switch went off in his brain.
Ryan couldn't hide in her books anymore.
She was loud, angry too, but nothing could replace her fear when her mother was killed, right in front of her, by none other, than the Slytherin pureblood.
She stole his money, ran away, only at the age of fifteen did Ryan move into her own apartment, fixing it with spells - much to the ministry's disapproval - and furniture that she had stolen from people, an adventurer, she was.
She was beautiful, it was hard not to be with Veela blood running through her veins, but as far as that goes, Ryan couldn't care less of her appearance, in fact, she barely had time to make herself presentable.
Over summers spent in her wonderful apartment, her sanctuary did Ryan's unruly messy hair clasp in a bun atop of her head, it may be a little dangerous that she used her wand to keep it in place, but that wasn't a worry to her, she didn't care, really.
Freckles dotted her skin, littering her face, her arms, everywhere, like little constellations inking her skin with the stars in the sky, they were beautiful, and so was she.
Although the girl, guarded, she was, worryingly skinny because of her family's punishment habits, well, her father's punishment habits. She had a loud mouth on her, she wasn't afraid to talk back to the man, so he would make sure to lock her in her room, keeping her in there for more than a few nights.
Without food.
But on those nights, the girl, with an unhealthy love for her books, and her stories, would tuck herself away, writing of love, of a better life, of a happier time with her mother by her side, and the father she once knew.
And now, in her own apartment, or tucked away in the common room of the Hufflepuff basement had Ryan found the love.
And well, for Ryan, there was also the added factor, that she was completely, and totally in love with Remus John Lupin.
