Chapter Two: Plans

Paige twisted and turned in her sleep. She growled softly as she gripped the blankets, her wolf tail lashing sideways.

The Evaran slowly opened her eyes and she looked around. She was in a void of darkness.

"Hello...?" She called out. It wasn't like the usual Dreamscape. And that was usually because she didn't see Ulysses or Marcellus or even Darwin. And considering that Silverhowl and Nexusblaze weren't connected to her anymore, she couldn't sense them either.

But she could sense something else. Something that was far greater.

She slowly turned and she widened her eyes as the physical form of Arkeria. The very Universe god that created everything.

"Whoa...," the Dual-Blooded girl murmured, trying not to topple over as she stared up at the god.

She chuckled softly and gently lifted the Transcendant up into her hand. "Whoa indeed, little one," she said, "I have been meaning to contact you and the others."

There was a nervous squeak and Paige looked over her shoulder to see the other Heroes staring up at the two with wide, fearful and astonished eyes.

The Universe giggled softly as she knelt down slowly and she set Paige down next to her friends. "I want you all to go to the Solar System's Earth," she said.

"Um... with all due respect, Erebus, but... why?" Demetrius asked nervously. He certainly wasn't expecting to get a message from the very creator of planets and humans alike.

The Universe chuckled softly. "All I can say is that... someone needs your help down there." "But... who?" Anastasia asked nervously.

"Can't you tell us?" Eric asked, furrowing his eyebrows. There was no answer and before anyone could say anything, there was a brilliant blue light filled the void.

Paige jolted awake with a gasp and she panted softly. She looked at Silverhowl and Nexusblaze who were asleep at the foot of her bed. She looked at the wall before she looked at the moon markings that was etched into her whole body. She bit her lip before she got up and grabbed her phone.

She walked into the bathroom and silently closed the door as she dialed the group chat she and the other Heroes had made. After a few minutes, everyone answered.

"I'm guessing you guys had the same dream too?" Brenda asked.

"Yeah," Osiris sighed, "that was..." "Intense?" Natalia huffed nervously, "I don't think I'm ever gonna get proper sleep again."

"She said that someone needs our help on the Earth in the Solar System," Gregory piped up, "it can't be Atlas or Jolene." "And it isn't Aziraphale or Crowley or Lucas," Brenda hummed, "and they're on the Alternate Earth."

"Well... we'll just have to wait until morning," Harry said, "we'll talk to Albert and Tempest."

"Sounds like a plan," Marley agreed. "Okay," Anastasia relented, "let's... try and get some sleep."

"Alright." "Okay."

"Night night," the Evaran sighed. The other Protectors replied with their good-nights before they hung up. Paige sighed and she splashed some water on her face before she opened the bathroom door and stepped out.

"Would you want to tell Blu? Or Robert or Phillip or Marcus?" Silverhowl asked as she and Nexusblaze laid by the bed.

"I don't know," Paige sighed. She wasn't big on telling anyone what the Universe had just told her and the other Protectors.

If anything, it was the first time that the Universe had actually asked them to do something. Galaxy and Joseph had always told her that the Universe talking to her creations was a big deal. And while there were some good merits to it, there were also some bad merits. Talking to the Universe could be overwhelming and it would be too much to the point where whoever the Universe was talking to would get a nosebleed. The person would even lose consciousness or end up in a coma.

She took a deep breath before she looked at her phone. She made sure to set it on the charger and she climbed back into bed.

She laid down and stared at the ceiling. She slowly fell into a dreamless sleep.

The next day, Paige walked through Iolite City, carrying her backpack. She walked to Albert's house and once she went up on the front porch, she knocked on the door.

Albert opened the door and he smiled at her. "Hey, princess," he greeted as he let her in, "glad to see you."

"Same to you," she smiled and she saw the other Protectors sitting or standing in the living room.

"I'm guessing you all told him?" The Evaran asked.

"Oh, they did," Tempest spoke up and Paige turned to her. The Cirilian didn't look too happy.

"And they told me too," she said, "and the fact that the Universe decided to speak to you all about this... unknown problem is unsettling. Even I have trouble believing it."

Osiris raised an eyebrow, "I thought you were a woman of faith when it came to the Universe."

Tempest huffed, waving her hand, "that's reserved for the Soulians, the Dagohirians, the Necromians and other Willarans."

"And after the crazy journeys that we've had on the Alternate Earth," Albert said nervously, "...I don't know, guys. This doesn't seem like a good idea."

"No," Gregory sighed, "but it's not like we can just... decline the word of the Universe."

The Protectors regarded him with confused and curious expressions. The Irilian stood up. "We've fought in a war, we've fought a freaking Egyptian god and his undead birds! We helped Ivan discover the truth about his past and his powers, we fought crazy Kaiterans that were rampaging through Altnerate Earth and other planets, and we helped Jolene take down a crazy man who wanted to destroy everything! If we can figure out magical bloodlines and find magical cosmic keys then we can certainly help whoever is having trouble on Gaia!"

Harry smiled and he looked at the others, "Greg's right. We haven't gone through hell and high water for nothing when it comes to being a Transcendant."

"Who knew the two of you could be so inspirational," Anastasia giggled. Gregory blushed and everyone laughed.

Paige looked at Tempest. The Cirilian bit the inside of her cheek before she threw her head back with a heavy sigh.

It was just one of those big adventures. What harm could it possibly do?

"Alright, fine!" She finally relented, throwing her hands up, "but you better check in with us every now and then once you guys get to Theia."

"You know we always do," Brenda reassured her, patting her shoulder. "We'll be alright," Kaitlin smiled.

"Let's go to Gaia!" Joanna cheered, pumping her fist in the air and Shiloh, Eric, Anastasia, Thomas and Charlotte cheered as they pumped their fists up too.
