"Jason." Thalia found herself sighing. Getting annoyed, she looked at her brother angrily. The blond boy paid no attention. The teen continuing to talk to a Cherokee girl with feathers boldly strung into her braided pieces hair.
Thalia looked over her. The girl wore a loose fitting cheerleader uniform. Her skirt reaching her knees (unlike most of the squads), and her shoulders covered in the sleeves of the uniform. It seemed like a giant's clothing on her simple frame.
"Get over here or I'll leave you here, again! Come on, Jason!" Thalia shouted at him, the radio blasting out lyrics to I'm Not Okay by My Chemical Romance. Jason looked over his shoulder, sending his sister a glare.
Thalia frowned.
Two can play at that game. She thought to herself, cranking up the radio. She then honked the horn.
The girl sent her a confused stare. But hesitantly tapped Jason's shoulder and pointed Thalia out to him. She told him something, that Thalia assumed was– There's a crazy lady screaming your name while playing a My Chemical Romance song, it's either an ex-girlfriend you didn't tell me about, or some crazy relative. Point is, she seems pissed!
She saw Jason exhale a deep breath, then waving to the girl. Finally walking over to the beat up 2012 Honda. His face was red, clearly embarrassed by his sister's– Thalia's– actions.
"Get in, loser. I have a practice in 15 minutes. You know how much trouble I'll be in if I'm late." She snarled, then gently patted the Blue Raspberry colored car door.
"Alright!" Jason exclaimed loudly, "Jesus Thalia, turn the music down." He remarked, taking the seat next to Thalia.
Thalia merely did a few small head bangs and tapped the steering wheel with her fingertips. Jason sighed and went to turn the music down, Thalia quickly slapped his hand away from the controls.
Thalia then started to drive.
Jason glared at her again, throwing his backpack behind him to the back seat. Thalia gave an eye roll, but slowly turned down the radio. Eventually turning it off as Jason began speaking.
"You know, you could attempt to wear some kind of athletic attire to practices." He pointed out, staring at her ratty, black short shorts. The holes that they contained were covered in patches, all flowery and "cute" as her friend (Bianca) called it.
She then wore a tight t-shirt. This shirt a crimson color, contradicting with her blue eyes.
The car engine hummed peacefully as they stopped at a red light.
"I don't see what's wrong with the way I dress for practices." Thalia mumbled, "Besides, that's the leader of your worries, Jase." She commented, smirking. Jason's eyebrows raised.
"And what worries would I happen to have, punk football star?" Thalia snorted.
"One, I'm not a football star. Two, that girl you were talking to? She was totally into you! I could see her insides melt as she eyes your lips like candy." She teased, making her brother's face return to the red color of her shirt.
"She's just a friend." He defended lamely. "Sure." Thalia replied sarcastically. "She is! She's being forced on the cheerleading squad by her evil half-sister Drew, and she wants at least one person she can talk to about something other than cheer!" He added, making Thalia shrug.
"Whatever you say. . ." She trailed off, making Jason groan. "Don't you have a guy to drool over instead of constantly getting involved in my love life?" Jason teased her, adding a solid smirk to the end of his speech.
Thalia chose to say nothing. She refused to come out to her brother like that. Not now. Not ever.
"Listen, we're almost there. I'll leave you to wonder around like usual, and then we'll head home." Thalia stated as she drove into the school's drive way.
"I swear you care more about this game than your love life." Jason remarked.
Thalia cracked smiled, "True." She spoke, which made Jason gape at her. "Thalia! Love lives are important!" He defended.
"Aw, have you been lonely, little bro?" Jason sighed.
"You are an unknown hunter of a goddess." He shot at her. Thalia nodded. "And you've been raised by wolves." Jason did the same, nodding mutely to his sister. Slowly coming to a stop, Thalia unbuckled her seatbelt.
"We're here." She stated, opening the door quickly. "Watch out for the car!" Jason exclaimed, eyes widening as Thalia's car door came in contact with another car.
The two metal materials made an evil hiss as they came together. Thalia cringed. It was like nails on a chalkboard.
"Crap." She muttered, slowly taking her door and closing it.
The black paint was scratched off entirely. The specks of black left were maybe half of the amount of dark grey and silver that the car was made of.
"Thalia! Mom's gonna be so mad!" Jason nearly screamed, wide eyed still. Thalia sighed, "I know Jase. Believe me, mom's gonna be so pissed at us!" She yelled at him.
"Me?! You were the one who killed the car's shotgun door! You are the one who is gonna be paying for all this!" Jason shot back at her, pointing frantically at the car.
"My car!" Some woman screamed, jumping out of her car. Thalia's eyes went wider (if possible), and she grabbed Jason's arm quickly.
Thalia caught a quick glance at the person shouting,
Her long, dark hair was put in a messy braid. Dark eyes fuming with anger. Her face was dark, and Thalia could practically see the steam coming out of her ears.
"Run!" Thalia screamed, dragging Jason behind her. Both running down the concrete sidewalk at the wide of the parking space. Thalia not stopping until she saw the familiar iron fence gate of the stadium doors.
Panting, a heavily breathing Jason put his back against the stone walls. "I'm going to practice. You stay with me, in the sidelines. No telling what that person would do it they caught us." Thalia ordered, looking her brother into his blue eyes.
Jason let out an exhausted nod.
Thalia gave him a silent nod in return, both entering the stadium for the first time in weeks.
"Thalia!" A voice exclaimed.
