After Ben left, I heard a soft groan from the other end of the room, and I turn to see Kaneki finally coming back. He sighed deep and turns to his side, facing me.

"Kaneki, hun...?" I said softly.

He doesn't say anything but hums understanding I was talking to him.

"How are you feeling?"

"...Mm... I have a headache," he sighed. "...What happened...?"

"Well, we're both in the hospital and we're in recovery. I'm doing fine, and the nurses are very helpful. Also, Janine's dead, Grandma visited, and so did Ben."

"Ben visited?" he carefully tried to sit up, but fails. I tell him to lie back down and he obeys. "When?"

"He left a minute ago."

"Here? With you?"

"Yes, baby."

"What did he say? What did you guys talk about?"

I sighed and I tell Kaneki everything all the way up to the point to him waking up. Even that I gave Ben a chance. He doesn't say anything for the most part until he asked,

"So, I was smelling Janine's ghoul scent instead of Ben...?"

I nodded.

"Dammit. Ugh," he pinched the bridge of his nose annoyed. "I guess I haven't trained my ghoul sense better at all. It kinda makes sence how I believed Ben was a ghoul with my nose messed up. Janine's ghoul scent was all over him."

"Yeahhhhh... Ben's not a ghoul. He even did that freaking T-pose in front of me trying to unleash his kagune!" I laughed out loud making Kaneki chuckle with me. "Seriously! What the hell, man?! Soooooooo weird!!"

"That got me," laughed Kaneki. "I can't believe you really dated that guy."

"I know right?!" and we continue laughing. "Anyways, before Janine snatched me up and flew away, how did you know she was gonna do that in the first place? Like, you ran to her apartment like a maniac!"

"Well, I didn't know she was gonna fly away with you!" said Kaneki, wide eyed. "But I overheard Touka telling Mr. Yoshimura at Anteiku a rumor about a human guy collecting limbs for his ghoul girlfriend, and how Touka thought it was the craziest and stupidest thing a human would do. When I heard the word ghoul, I sprinted out the door and all the way to Janine's place. I was afraid I was going to lose you and Janine was going to eat you right then and there."

"Aw, Kaneki," I said. "I'm still here. Don't worry."

"I was worried! Are you kidding?! That's why I kicked the door down!" he exclaimed, and I lightly laugh at his expression.

We continued talking until I finally removed the blanket from my waist. I carefully walked to his bed being only a couple of steps away, and I sit beside him. I leaned over and peck his forehead.

"Thank you for saving me, Kaneki," I whispered. "...Again."

He grabbed my cheek for another kiss. "You're welcome, Y/N.... Again."

"Hmmmm..." I rubbed noses with his and kiss his lips. And again. Another. One more. I couldn't stop. "Mm. Kaneki," I said between kisses. "When we both get better, like really, reallllly better, I wanna do it. I want our alone time."

"You want it?" he smiled.

"Of course I do. Yes. Yes! I want it and only with you," I kissed him. "I want everything, and don't forget the condom. I want just you and me. Dark room."

"Little clothes?"

"Let's try none."

"Wow," he chuckled softly against my lips. "Since when did you want me this bad?"

"Since your lips first kissed mine," I dragged, gently licking the corner of his mouth. "Now I can't stop." I kiss him deep.

He kisses me back, his hair white. "I love you, baby," he groaned low.

"Shit," I breathed.

"What?"

"That was fucking hot."

Kaneki laughed out loud and I laugh with him.

"I love you too," I finally said, and nestle my nose close to his. We hold onto each other until my eyes began to droop and I move into a comfortable position beside him on the bed. We both passed out into a quiet nap never taking our hands off each other.

Days past, and Kaneki and I were slowly getting better bit by bit. I managed to recover much quicker than Kaneki considering Kaneki's fight with Janine took so many blows to Kaneki's head and body.

The only thing that was slowing me down in the recovering process was my forearm, the one Kaneki ate. I had to get stiches for it, but it wasn't as severe as the shoulder wound I had from that other random ghoul before. I still had to get stiches for the shoulder wound, and it hurt a lot. Still, I recovered from that, but not the scar. That's what happened to my forearm: a scar is there, and the tissue was slowly growing and mending back to its original form. Kaneki's teeth marks were even engraved into me too...

James and Bree took a day off from work to see both Kaneki and me at the hospital during visiting hours. Kaneki and I took turns telling everything that happened to both of us during the previous days. Even Hide and Touka dropped by to see how we were doing. It was great seeing Hide and Touka again, even if they went in separate visiting hours, and I enjoyed their company and listenting to what they heard on the news and rumours and stuff like that (that's what James and Bree talked about with Kaneki and me too).

When Kaneki and I were out of the hospital after several long weeks. I couldn't say I felt like everything was back to normal, but it was supposed to. I was back to school and work with James and Bree, and Grandma was happy to see Kaneki healthy again. However, Ben was alone and distanced himself from Kaneki and me even if he was living in the fourth floor without Janine. I don't know how long he'll be staying there, but I had a feeling he was planning on moving back in with his parents in Kyoto again.

The last time I saw Ben was when I was with Kaneki after picking up some dinner from F/RN for Grandma and I, and we were alone with Ben inside the elevator.

Kaneki doesn't say anything but I polietly greeted Ben when he quietly does.

"...Hey," he muttered, and Kaneki and I turn to him. "Did you see the moving truck earlier today? (Kaneki and I shake our heads) Well, I don't know when I'll see you again, because I've already made plans to move back to Kyoto."

"Oh," I paused. "Well, I hope you make it back safely. You're staying with your parents again right?"

Ben nodded. "Yeah, well, probably for several weeks until I get myself a place in Kyoto by myself.... By the way, Kaneki...?"

Kaneki's head perked surprised.

"I just wanted to apologize for acting like a dick," Ben said. "And thanks for, uh, saving Y/N and getting rid of Janine."

"Why?" Kaneki asked, and Ben looks at him confused. "Why are you thanking me for getting rid of your girlfriend?"

"Because, man, I... well," and Ben lowered his voice. "I haven't told anyone this yet, but the only reason I got those human body parts was because Janine would threaten me every time that she was gonna eat me instead. I couldn't do anything about it—"

"But you did it anyway?" Kaneki raised his eyebrow.

"Sadly, yes."

"That's a toxic relationship you had there, Ben," I said. "Learn from this, and next time get help or break up."

"Totally," he sighed. "I'm never gonna date a ghoul again. They're crazy nasty."

Kaneki flinched and the elevator door opens and Ben exits.

"Bye," he waved, and I wave back. Kaneki doesn't say anything and the doors close.

"Still a dick," muttered Kaneki and I laugh out loud.
