CHAPTER 29: MORE SECRETS

Bilkisu took off the earrings left of what she had on for the nikah. She used a face wipe to clean off the remnants of her makeup. She glanced at herself in the mirror and sighed before she stood up and walked to where her bed is. Fixing the maroon turtleneck top, she had on tucked into a high waist grey denim, she picked up the grey knee length jacket that lay on it and shrugged it in. She then picked up her phone and her passport that laid beside the jacket earlier; the passport went into her pocket while she held the phone in her hand. She slipped into her maroon ankle boot before she walked out.

She used the backdoor where she knew no one will see her. She didn't want to deal with the stares she'd undoubtedly get because at the moment, it has been made known that the wedding is called off. Her friends and other people had tried to check up on her but she locked the door.

Immediately she stepped foot outside she put on her black shades and walked down the path, her boot clanking on the interlocks but thankfully, there were no people there to notice her. She then entered the car that her parents had waiting for her and sat down in the backseat.

She removed the shades as the driver drove the car down the parking lot with no words said. Her phone pinged, she swiped the screen and saw a message that made her look up and look outside. As the gateman opened the gate, her gaze fell on his car. She thought of just ignoring him but she couldn't. "Stop the car" she said to the driver once they were out of the house.

"Ma'am--"

"I said stop the car!" she snapped making the man do as she said not wanting to irritate her more than she already is.

Once he parked the car by the road, she stepped out of the car with her shades in her hand. She swiveled her head to the direction of his car which is opposite theirs on the other side of the car. She fixed her turban cap that started to slip off before she crossed the road leaving the door for the driver to close. She didn't look to see who has his or her eyes on her as she opened the passenger seat of his car and got in, closing the door afterwards.

The first thing that greeted her is the cold air due to the air conditioner, that didn't disturb her though. The next thing is his cologne that she had always loved. She blinked as she leaned back on the seat refusing to lift her head and look at him knowing that his gaze is on her. She crossed her legs, "I'm here. What do you want to say?"

"You're running away?" he asked making her chuckle humorlessly.

"Well I am the bride that just called off her wedding. What do you expect me to do? Dance up and down or what?" she retorted before rolling her eyes.

He sighed, he knew she is angry at him. That is something he couldn't help, "About that...what you did for Jannah, it was nice of you"

"Who said I did it for her?" she asked lazily making him look at her with eyes filled with sadness. She turned her head to look at him for the first time since she entered his car, "I did it for you" she said, anger lacing her tone. Underneath it though is a layer of hurt and pain that showed in her eyes.

She waited for him to say something...anything.! But he didn't. All he did was stare at her. And that annoyed her.

She nodded as she darted her tongue out to wet her chapped lips, "I can't miss my flight for this" she said as she sat up. Just as she is about to open the door, he spoke up making her stop in her tracks.

"How much did you tell her?"

She didn't turn, "Just enough to help her whenever she felt like finding the truth out. I told her half of what I found out"

He sighed as he used his thumbs to massage his temples, "You shouldn't have done that Bilkisu. You only put her in more danger"

Her eyes sting with tears as her body shook with anger. How dare he say that? She swiveled her head to look at him with her eyes narrowed, "Danger? That's what you always say but you know what? I know what it feels like to be lied to and kept in secret and I'm sure Jannah will not love it one bit. How do you think she'll react when she found out what you hid from her?"

"Bilkisu—"

"You know what Kamal? I thought you'd learn your lesson by now after I broke up with you but no! You're still the same person" she said, her voice suddenly came out low as a tear slipped down her cheek. He opened his mouth to say something when she stopped him, "Heck I even almost married a man I do not love simply to see if it will knock some sense into you but what did you do? You didn't even attempt to stop me! You pretended as if you don't know me Kamal and you know what? That hurts!" she didn't bother to try and wipe the tears away.

Kamal ran his hands through his hair furiously. He couldn't stand her crying, especially knowing that he is the cause, "You think it was easy for me to watch you say that you love Suhad?! Do you know how many time I sat and wonder how you got over me like that? It killed me to know that you're getting married today and there was nothing I could do" he half yelled.

She blinked her tears back and quickly wiped the tears away from her face. She looked away. She couldn't continue looking at his face knowing she might break down again. His eyes held so many emotions that made her weak. "You know why I didn't do anything Bilkisu? I know you hate me. And I know that you will never be with me again. I get that you think I lied to you but Bilkisu I couldn't tell you any of that and put you in danger"

"So you thought lying to me was the answer?"

"Bilkisu that's the nature of my job. No one could know my identity, not even Jannah and you know that" he said sounding more calm than earlier. But he was anything but calm internally, he might just lose Bilkisu for good this time. "If there was anything I could've done to keep you with me, you know I would've done that"

"Then stop lying to me Kamal!"

"I can't"

He loved her too much to lose her for the second time.

Bilkisu finally looked at him again, her eyes filled with tears, "You know what Kamal. You were wrong. After everything you did, I'm so fucking stupid" her voice came out low.

He shook his head, "No you're not—"

"Yes I am because I still love you. Even after two years of breaking up I still fucking love you!" she sobbed.

He was frozen at the moment. All the while he had convinced himself that she hates him when she really does not, "What did you just say?"

She buried her face between her palms. When she raised her head up again, she used the palms to wipe away the tears, "It doesn't matter Kamal. I'm done with you and this—whatever this is. When you're ready to talk to me and tell me the truth, you should know where to find me since you're an agent right?" she shrugged and offered him a bitter smile before she opened the door and stepped out. She quickly put on her shades to hide her red eyes away from whoever watched her. She made her way back to her car and told the driver to drove away to the airport.

Kamal sighed and ran his fingers through his hair again, he seemed to be doing a lot of that a lot recently. He angrily hit the steering wheel continuously till his anger reign down a bit.

All the while he thought that she loved Suhad when she did not. She did all that for him? He knows that the girl can go out of limit just to try and get what she wants but for her to almost get married to Suhad just to see if he'll try and stop her is something he did not think of, ever. So, she still loves him after everything.

He loves her too. Heck he loves her more than she loves him.

But right now, things are too messed up for them to be together. For now, he has to sacrifice her.

But for how long will he keep sacrificing his love for Bilkisu? The girl he had always loved since childhood?

"You owe me an explanation"

"On what? How the woman you almost got married and how I conspired with your almost wife to create this show we just put on?" Jannah chuckled when Suhad nodded eagerly. "She just came to me; told me she wouldn't marry you but she can't call of the wedding before the nikah day. You know the rest"

Suhad shook his head as he stared at her with a bored expression, "Seriously woman? That is all you're telling me?"

She laughed lowly as she walked towards his and pat his shoulder, "Yup"

Suhad pushed her hand off his shoulder playfully as he looked around the place, "Well, Mamita called off the wedding since she'd rather cancel all events that let us enjoy it, how about we ditch this place and go on a date?"

Jannah nodded in agreement, "Is this you asking me on a date?"

"Is this you saying yes?"

"Not really" Jannah hummed a she pretended to think, "You should ask me properly first"

Suhad tilted his head slightly as he watched his wife with a perfectly arched brow, "What do you want? Do you want me to go down on my knees and ask you to go on a date with me?"

"That might just work"

Suhad went down on one knee and held her hand, "Will you Mrs. Jannah AlaminSagir go on a date with me please?"

Jannah pretended to be surprised as she covered her mouth with her hand, "Oh My God yes" she squealed making them both laugh afterwards. "Kagakatashikafin people see you and think I'm doings something to you. Kasanmutane" Jannah said making him shrug.

"Well you are doing something to me. You make my heart go nwantiti" he stood up, "Now come on, let's leave this place and go on our date" he said as he held her hands in his and the two walked out of Bilkisu's house together.

People watched the two. Some people started to gossip about how the groom called off the wedding because of his mistress. The two didn't give any damn about those people though, they were in their own little bubble.

Prince and Daihaah left just a couple of minutes ago too.

"But wait o. We're already married so which kind date are we doing on again?" Jannah asked a she got into the passenger seat of Suhad's car.

"Halal date duh! We're halal dating" he said making her laugh slightly.

"You're not serious" she muttered a she shook her head.

"Saheeb come out! You've been bailed"

Mr. S looked up from the cell he was sitting on. He rolled his eyes but nevertheless stood up and walked out. He followed the guard out and immediately his gaze fell on Sarah, he rolled his eyes, "You finally remembered your twin brother's existence" he said running his hand through his silky hair messy it all up.

Sarah thanked the police man that handed her Saheeb's belongings before she held his arm and tugged him out, "Yeah well you do know that dad won't let me get you out that easily. Mom had to talk before agreed" she said as they made their way towards her car.

"Or maybe you're just too in love with that Nigerian boy that you forgot about your twin brother!" he snapped making her roll her eyes at him.

She pushed her blonde hair over her shoulder as she used the band in her hand to put it up into a ponytail, "Don't piss me off Saheeb. Is it my fault you decided to hit on her?"

He rolled his eyes a she opened the passenger door of her car and got in. Immediately she got in, she picked up something and threw it on his lap, "Mom said to give you this when I get you out?"

Saheeb picked up the passport and examined it, "I'm finally leaving this place? Thank God!" he exclaimed as a smile took over his features.

"You're staying with them in Mom's home in Madagascar" she ignored his tone as she put on her seat belt before she started driving.

He snapped his head to look at her, "What do you mean by 'them'?" he spat the word with so much venom.

She rolled her eyes as she started to drive, "She and Dad of course. Who else?"

His brows furrowed slightly, "He's in Madagascar? When's he leaving?"

"Not anytime soon for now. The cops won't find him there. Especially not in Mom's house. The cops believe he has cancer so they won't think he's gone that far"

His eyes widened making blink, "Wait...he doesn't have cancer? You mean he faked it?"

"Obviously. It's Dad we're talking about here. What won't he do?"

He nodded without a word picked up his phone which still had charge since the cops shut the phone down. He waited till they arrived at the hotel she booked for him. She gave him his room keys and told him she'll back to take him to the airport in a couple of hours.

The minute he's in the hotel room, he locked the door behind him and quickly dialed the number that's on his speed dial. He pressed the phone on his ear and waited for the person to answer.

"Hello" his voice came, "Saheeb? When did you get out of prison? I swear if I catch you I'm going to punch you and break a couple of bones in your body for what you did" his voice came out filled with anger.

Saheeb sighed and pinched the bridge of his slender nose, "Man I'm really sorry about that. I got drunk and things kind of went out of control"

"You idiot! I didn't agree to work with you just so you will harass Jannah" Kamal hissed from the other side, "I swear you should thank God I'm not close to you else I would've broken all your bones"

Saheeb rolled his eyes yet again. He knew those weren't empty threats but there's nothing Kamal will do to him since he won't see him any time soon. That didn't mean that Kamal won't punch him any time he sees him though. "Look I have some information I'm sure will help you"

"Information?" Kamal said suddenly sounding interested, "is it about your father?"

"Yes" he nodded as if Kamal can see him.

"What is it?"

"His cancer, he lied. He doesn't have one"

Kamal sighed from the other side, "I thought of that. I just didn't think he will actually do that. Do you know where he is?"

"Madagascar"

"Alright then. It'll take a while to get a hold of him but I'll inform the cops right away"

Saheeb smiled a bit. He was about to end the call when Kamal called his name, "Yeah?"

"Thank you for everything. I know it's not easy for you to go against your own father"

Saheeb nodded as his eyes narrowed slightly, "Anything to put that man behind bars. I hate him more than I hate myself"

"We'll talk later" Kamal ended the call. It worked in their favor to have Saheeb work with them. He had been a huge support since he came to Nigeria and met Kamal, he told him everything and had been helping him up till the point he fucked up and hit on Jannah.

Aamir and Suhad didn't know about that though. Only the police know. If Suhad knew, he would've broken every bone in Saheeb's body when he harassed Jannah.

But, Saheeb didn't tell Kamal everything for he never told him anything about Sarah so he still doesn't know that she's his sister and that she's secretly married to Jameel.

He loved his twin sister so much that he wouldn't drag her into the mess though she's already inside.

The only person he tells on is Big Boss because of the hatred he had for the man.

The whole situation is simply messed up big time. Like, really messed up.

~*~

Sarah drove straight to the next destination Big Boss sent her to. She never thought that she'd step foot in that place because she always thought her father had moved on from that part of his plan. Apparently not since he sent her there.

She looked at the rearview mirror a she checked out her black contact lens she had on to change her eye color from green to black. She blinked a couple of times just to get used to it before she picked up the spectacle she always keeps in her back in case of emergencies. She put it on and chuckled lowly, it always made her look like a nerd.

She stepped out of her car and removed the band from her hair letting it fall on her back. She walked in to the place after she stopped by the security who searched her to make sure she's not carrying anything that will make her threat.

Afterwards she was allowed in. She didn't need anyone to direct her around the place because though she has never been there, it wasn't that hard to tell how the place is. She's been in a much more complex situation.

The minute she entered the waiting room where the others are, she spotted him.

She walked towards him and sat on the chair opposite him. He raised his head and looked at her, his brows furrowed, "Who are you? And why are you here to see me?" he asked.

She smirked and shook her head, "Dad is right. You really are stupid" she muttered but her heard her. She leaned on the table between then as she watched him up closely, the crease between his brows slowly disappeared in realization, "Do you recognize me now?"

"How...." He was out of words as he stared at the foreigner in front of him. She and her brother got their looks from their mother so it was hard for one to tell that they are actually half Nigerian.

She sighed loudly dramatically, "Oh God! Please, let's not do this now. I'm only here to deliver a message to you"

"What more does he want? Heard he's now going after Jannah; the girl has nothing to do with this. What's going on in that man's head?" he asked all at once, though he kept his voice low not wanting anyone to hear their conversation.

Sarah sighed again as she used her fingers to massage her temples. For the first time, she said something important which she actually agrees with, "To be honest with you, I have no idea. I wouldn't be surprised if one tells me he's lost his mind" she said lowly. She knew why he involved Jannah but she doesn't understand his aim anymore.

It didn't seem like he's doing all these for his daughters anymore.

He raised his head and look around, a plan forming in his head, "Give me one reason why I shouldn't expose you now?" He smirked but it fell when he saw her smirk instead of shake in fear as he thought.

She drummed the table with her fingers, "Now if I say you're stupid you'll feel offended" she said, she then leaned back as she waved him off with her hands, "Go ahead. Try to expose me and put your life in danger Lamido. After all, it's your life that's at stake here"
