"George?!" Mrs. Harrison knocked on the door of her son's bedroom. "George, are ye up? I have to get to church an' I don't want to be late!" she fixed her hair in the nearby mirror and wrapped her scarf around her neck.

On the otherside of the door stood a well-groomed, ten-year-old George Harrison. He fixed his tie and examined himself in the mirror inside his room. He couldn't wait for service today. He liked the church, this was the only church he liked that had younger people his age and banquets after every service.

"George? Are ye up?" His mother knocked once more.

"Yeah, Mum!" George called out. "I'm up!" He patted his hair and grinned. He then walked over to the door and sheepishly smiled at his mother.

"Sorry," George apologized. "I was fixing me hair."

"Well, we better get goin'," his mother replied. "otherwise, we'll miss worship."

George nodded. He picked up his jacket from the bed and followed his mother into their car. Once they began to go down the familiar path, the young boy began to think about his friends at the church and what kind of food they might serve there.

The minute they parked in the parking lot, they got out of the vehicle and into the building; where the servants of God awaited their presence.

He stared at the pastor preaching up on the podium. He loved how passionate this man was, how close he seemed to be to the Almighty God.

"Now let us bow our heads in prayer," said Pastor Orchid. Everyone bowed their heads, including George.

"Father God... We thank You for today, and this blessed Sunday morning service. As we come together in fellowship, we ask that You bless the meal and the people who are going to attend..."

As he continued to pray, George began to grow hungry. His eyes remained closed, but his thoughts went to food, and soon enough his stomach started to growl.

"... If you are to attend the fellowship banquet, please go to the back of the church!" one of the altar boys called. George obeyed and trailed behind his mother and her church friends.

"It's a pleasure to see ye, Mrs. Harrison!" Regina Rose, one of George's mum's friends exclaimed, sitting across from he and his mother.

"Likewise, Regina," Mrs. Harrison replied back, smiling.

Paola Goodman, another fellow friend of Mrs. Harrison, sat next to Regina; a plate of food in front of her.

George had already started eating, he couldn't wait to taste the buttery, breaded chicken resting in the aluminum foiled pans.

"Did ye 'ear about Denise Richards?" Paola started, placing a sliced potato wedge into her fat mouth. Out of the four of them, she was the one with the most weight gain.

"Oh yes,"  Mrs. Harrison replied, placing her hand on her heart in sympathy. "her husband is having an affair, poor thing." she began to put a glob of food into her mouth.

"Such a tragedy." said Regina. "I heard it's with the Sunday school teacher..."

As they gossiped about other members of the church, George suddenly found himself losing his appetite.

After today, he didn't want to go to church anymore...
