Quietly, a dying sun,
did nurse before its life was done,
nourishing a galaxy
and gave its light for them to see.
Suckling at its shining breast,
the Milky Way was growing strong.
Dreams within her silent rest
did seem to sing a somber song.

Cord was cut and mouth was weaned
Life was left to live as it pleased.
Deep, the oceans; deep and dark
that enveloped the planets' arc.
Lost in the cosmos, she seemed;
where a mother's love did not reach,
but embers of light did seep
in memory and tried to breach.

deep sea rises and recedes
inside of you; inside of me.
Deep, the space above us all
from which the light we see by falls.
All cells fill full with intent
to reach the place where we first met.
Light pulses; messages sent
through the stars of a neural net.

Now we sojourn through the night
and stop only when all is still,
No direction in the void;
often unsettled and annoyed.
Listen to the calming waves.
There was an ocean left behind.
Wrap yourself in what you crave;
the blanket of our hearts and mind.

Lying here in clouds like down,
Night pulls in and gently surrounds;
reminds us of blissful sleep
where we did rest; serene and deep.
We were empty once and free
but knowledge encroached on paradise.
Far; did we fall, from the tree
and settled for a lower vice.

In our search we long to know...

Each part of this mortal frame;
piece by piece of that which remains;
knit and formed and sewn in full
and draws in new, mental food.
Unseen dark matter and force
did touch and open each new eye
A stream of stars in their course
gave their wisdom as they went by.

Passing to the outer edge;
answers will yet be revealed
and new bodies shall arise.
Then we will look on and surmise
as light crashes on that shore
meeting beyond Orion's belt
past the Stardust Ocean's floor
to find the truth in all we've felt.
