the hunter

The man in the black suit was not impressed when his phone started playing Bad Blood by Taylor Swift for the millionth time, signifying that someone really need to get in touch with him.

His eyes once again went to the screen, debating wether he should miss the season 11 finale of Greys Anatomy for this.

In the end Taylor Swift took precedence over the TV show and he muted it, picking up the phone.

"Hello?" He said gruffly into the black phone.

"Agent, we've been trying to get in touch for the last half an hour, we have a code 420 in our hands." A cool metallic voice spoke back in an equally, gruff tone.

Code 420. What was code 420? Well it was the channel number for The CW on his TV.

Wait, the man mused thinking hard, 420, meant meteor crash. Which meant he had to get to work.

He never thought he would regret choosing Taylor Swift but here he was. So after making a mental note to change his ringtone to something far less appealing, perhaps Justin Bieber, he asked," GPS Co-ordinates sent?"

"Yes." The man on the voice grumbled,"Now get to work."

The phone cut off and the man in black sighed as he watched Meredith Grey give yet another teary speech on the TV.

He sighed and shut it off reluctantly and strode out, locking the door, heading towards the car that was as black as his suit, soul and phone.

The GPS co-ordinates showed the crash site in the middle of the woods and he immediately regretted wearing his new black leather shoes.

He hated his job most of the times considering that it had been nothing like he had imagined, hunting aliens, interrogating them and best of all finding a way out of one of the most boring planets out there.

But he hadn't had a chance to do any of those things, so he hated his job and the hatred specifically intensified when it interrupted his me time, which it did all the time.

His me time varied from day to day, from jamming to Taylor Swift,to watching Greys Anatomy, to cleaning his large collection of guns and target practice with them.

He'd recently acquired a bazooka that he had been dying to take for a spin but that would have to wait because he had to go check on a lump of space rock that had decided or crash on earth because it had nothing better to do in space.

The man in black hadn't always been the man in black. In fact he used to go as far as to wear a light grey on happy occasions, but after he got this job it was all black.

He used to be an alien fanatic, believer in the craziest science fictions, legends and myths that they weren't the only ones in the universe. His knowledge about aliens was extensive even though he hadn't seen one for himself. But like everyone else in this job, it was his dream to bring in a alien as a universal in your face to all the non believers.

So obviously he was the right guy for the job. But it did help that he was a daunting six foot five and knew how to shoot a gun.

He stopped his car at the edge of the dark forest that seemed to darken by the minute.

For a man who wore so much of black he didn't quite like the dark. But this was his job, investigate the crash, give a report and go back home to his guns, which was a pretty sweet deal considering everything.

But trudging in wet mud through dense foliage at night wasn't something he was looking forward too.

Grabbing a flashlight from his trunk he made his way forward in the woods following the directions on his phone.

The site was deep in the forest and the man in black was seriously considering abandoning this job and lying about it his non existent findings but at that exact moment something happened.

It was for just half a second, something if he hadn't been trained to notice would have easily slipped from him.

It was a flash of intense white light, making the world go blank for the tiniest amount of time before resetting back to it's dark nature.

Could it be? Could it be, that finally after years of digging among meaningless space rocks that he had finally found something meaningful. Meaningful enough to change everything.

Well he was certainly going to find out.

He checked his phone only to find it's screen black, like the rest of it.

Instead of losing hope at losing his GPS map his excitement grew. There had been some sort of electro-magnetic wave that had passed through the air along with the light which could only mean that there was a lot more going in here than just space rock.

He took out his electromagnetic radiation detector and switched it on.

It was an old model but it would have to work as he walked ahead with caution, paying attention to the slightest movement on the scale.

After two hours, three near death experiences, two nasty insect bites and a million curses later he finally found himself at the edge of the ginormous crater.

At first glance there was nothing wrong with it, it seemed fairly ordinary with it's uneven edges and large depression.

But when you saw it the second time, it was almost impossible to notice a long very thing strand of white light in the middle surrounded by scorch marks. Another thing was it's shape rocks usually created large round craters but this one was far more rectangular.

But the most blatant thing was the blackened part in the middle of the crater which looked suspiciously like a person.

The man immediately slid down, taking long and confident steps towards the centre examining the scorch marks on the ground more clearly.

It was shaped like a human, a girl or a woman perhaps with a dainty body.

There were footprints all around in the crater which could only mean that someone had been there.

One set was extremely tiny, the other was large and deep and the last one was dainty and are foot, barely visible.

And then something shiny caught his eye and he bent down to pick it up.Immediately the meter in his hand went crazy giving a reading that was off the charts.

He examined the long strand of platinum blonde hair in his hand, which seemed to be giving out it's own light in the night.

The strand of hair glowing and electro magnetic meter was going crazy around it which could only mean one thing.

It meant that it was time to go back home and get his big guns out, ready for the real thing.

The thing he had been waiting for all his life.

He was going to hunt down an alien and capture it, by any means necessary.

He smiled to himself,Choosing Taylor Swift could never be a bad option.
