"God, we're gonna go to jail." Sam spoke as her and Sadie jumped over Terry's doors. He made it easy for them by having no top on his car.
"Don't worry, i'll say I kidnapped you." Sadie flashed her a grin, the two going through every compartment. "If you were a roofie pill, where would you hide?"
Sam looked at her in disbelief. "What?"
"I don't know. Trying to help." Sadie tossed her hands up, the pair digging through everything again. Sadie leaned over the back seat, loosing her balance as she fell. "Ouch."
"Oh, Sadie." Sam looked back as she laid on the floor board. "Are you okay?"
Sadie didn't move, staying still. Sam leaned back. "Sadie?"
Sadie came up from the ground, holding a baggy in her hand. "Are these roofie pills?"
Sam looked closely at the pills, pulling the photo up on her phone as the pair held them together. "Holy shit."
"You've got to be kidding me." Sadie looked in disbelief at the identical photo. "Fucking Cobra Kai."
"We have to tell someone." Sam shook her head in disbelief.
"You think they'll ever believe us?" Sadie shook her head. "And even if they did, we're more likely to get busted for going through someone's car."
"So, what do we do? Just let them get away with this? They drugged you." Sam looked offended and in disbelief.
"Of course not." Sadie shook her head, giving a knowing smirk. "We just have to be quick."
"How'd you learn to hotwire a car?" Sam asked as her and Sadie drove Terrys car to Coldwater Canyon Park, that had been a six minute drive from the competition.
"Too much free time." Sadie got out of the car, backing it up close to the water. She made sure Sam was out, putting the car in reverse and dropping a rock on the gas. The two watched it roll off into the water, stood in their gis. Sadie laughed, waving her hand. "Bye-Bye."
"Psychos." Sam shook her head, checking her phone. "We have five minutes until the break is over."
"How far is the uber?" Sadie looked her way.
Sam looked in panic. "Five minutes."
Sadie yanked her phone from her on pocket. "Don't worry. I know someone who can buy us some time."
Demetri and Eli had fallen through for Sadie and Sam, starting up and interesting conversation with the ref and how they really needed to show him black mold in the boys bathroom. It being a violation to the safety of the competition, it was indeed important. Thankfully, Miguel had locked himself into the bathroom and claimed to have horrible diarrhea, meaning they had to wait.
Ten minutes later, Sadie and Sam had ran through the doors and were back on the mat, giving the boys thankful looks.
"And now, our first semifinal match will be Miguel Diaz of Eagle Fang versus Eli Moskowitz of Miyagi-Do!" Daryl announced as Eli and Miguel talked to their senseis a second longer. "Gentlemen, take your positions."
Sadie wished Miguel good luck, making sure to give him and Sensei Lawrence space to talk. She flashed Eli a thumbs up as he got onto the mat. They did their common hand shake, bowing at the ref then each other. "Fight!"
Miguel spun around, trying to hit him, but Eli managed to block his arms, ducking down when Miguel swung over his head. Miguel followed him across the mat with swing after swing, Eli's blocks advancing each time before the two jumped at the same time, kicking each other on sync. Sadie's eyes flickered back and forth between the fighting two.
Miguel swung at him harshly again, getting blocked just as fast. The fight was intense and was hard to keep up with. Eli went to kick Miguel, getting hit in return and fell back against the mat. "No point, that's a block. Continue."
Miguel grunted out, jumping off his legs as he spun around in the air, coming around a second time with his foot risen, ready to kick Eli across the face and score the point. Only, instead, he was met with a cracking noise as he fell on the ground, holding his back in pain.
Sadie's heart fell as she froze in place, gapping in a panic as Sensei Lawrence took off onto the mat.
"Sensei!"
Sadie watched the door in worry, waiting for any news of Miguel to come back. Robby and Demetri were put together, leaving Sadie to watch over Eagle Fang while Miguel and Johnny were off with the medic.
"Come on, Demetri!" Sadie yelled as him and Robby fought on the mat. He sent kicks in Demetris direction, having each blocked before Robby hit him in the chest.
"Point. Keene."
Sadie met Sams eye for a second. He hurried off toward Daniel, Sadie half way wished she was over there to give him her own pep talk. She looked toward Cobra Kai, locking eyes with Robby. He held his head up a little higher, clearly trying to intimidate her. Sadie did it right back, the pair staring until he was forced to break eye contact first. Sadie smirked, feeling like she won.
"On your marks!" the ref called, Demetri and Robby headed back on the mat. "Fight!"
Robby kicked toward Demetri, having it blocked, as well as the next. Robby did the same when Demetri kicked him. "That's a block. No point."
Sadie watched hopefully as Demetri grasped Robbys fist, twisting it like a circle, tossing him on the ground, only off a centimeter as Robby moved out of the way. Demetri spun around, trying to kick him, but Robby moved back again. He gave a "come here" motion to Robby, having him swing at him multiple times, but each being blocked.
Robby was quick, twisting on the ground and kicking Demetri in the chest. "Point. Winner!"
Sadie sighed, but made sure to yell from across the mat. "You did great, Meat! Don't worry about it!"
"Fangs." Johnny came back into the competition quickly, just before her match.
"Is he okay?" Sadie looked hopeful.
"He's all right. Just a sprain at the most." he nodded, looking to the board. "Look, you need to focus, okay? You're our only hope at winning the girls competition now that Devon is out. I know you and Sam are a thing, but that doesn't matter right now. You go out there and you kick her ass."
Sadie looked his way in confusion. "I'm gonna try my hardest."
"I know you will." he nodded, having no clue the pressure he just put on her with Devon no longer in the competition.
"The next match, to determine who makes it to the girls finals, is between Samantha LaRusso of Miyagi-Do and Sadie Lawrence of Eagle Fang Karate!" Daryl announced as Sadie accepted a slap on the back from her sensei, getting onto the mat.
"You've got this, baby!" Sadie's mom called from the crowd with a loud cheer, her wild curls hanging around her face.
Sam and Sadie held eye contact. Sam nodded. "I don't want this to make us fight."
"I know." Sadie agreed with a nod. "Either way, we'll be okay."
Sam nodded in agreement, the ref speaking up. "Face me. Bow. Face each other. Bow."
Sadie and Sam took their marks, keeping their stances opposite each other. "Fight!"
Sadie tried to not think about Sma being her girlfriend, the love of her life, but it was hard when she knew she'd hurt her so many times in the past and was trying to avoid doing so anymore. She sent a kick in her direction, Sam blocking it. Sadie did it again, having it blocked once more. She kicked off her left leg, getting Sam right in the face. "Point!"
Sadie winced. "You okay?"
"Fine." Sam shook her head. "Don't worry about it. It's part of the competition."
Yet, it didn't make it any easier. "Fight!"
Sadie swung her fist to Sams shoulder, having it blocked as Sam latched onto Sadie's arm, their elbows locking as Sam hit her in the chest. "Point!"
They shared a look of confirmation. "Fight!"
Sadie ducked down, coming up and taking Sam done on the mat by the waist. Sam rolled quickly, Sadie's legs tightening around her waist and ending it with a foot to the chest. "Point!"
Sam looked over at Sadie, the two getting off the ground and taking their marks once again. "Fight!"
Sam struck first this time, punching in her direction. Sadie dodged it, shoving her hand away from her. Sam then sent a kick her way, Sadie leaning back just enough to dodge it, but loosing her balance. Too focused on finding her footing, Sam used it to kick her in the stomach. "Point! Next one wins."
Sadie rubbed her gut slightly, holding her fist infront of her as she bounced on her heels slightly. Sam took her advice, doing the same. "Fight!"
Sadie gave a little yell, kicking her foot in Sams direction, hitting her in the arm. "No point. Block."
Sadie spun, trying to back kick Sam, having it blocked and shoved away. She spun, punching Sam in the shoulder, jumping around the waist and shoving backwards as hard as she could. They fell against the mat, Sadie about to hit her in the chest before Sams right leg came up, wrapping around Sadie's shoulders and throwing her back against the mat, her foot hitting her chest. "Point! Winner!"
Sam got off her first, reaching to help her up. "You okay?"
"Yeah." Sadie rubbed her chest slightly as she stared at her. "You killed it, babe."
Sam smiled, proud of herself, grabbing her face to kiss her.
"Eagle Fangs chance at winning the girls competition goes up in smoke, but ends it off with an extremely affectionate congratulations." Daryl announced over the mic as Sam and Sadie separated. "Making Samantha LaRusso, of Miyagi-Do Karate, advance to the finals."
Sadie gave a guilty look to Johnny. "I'm sorry."
He shook his head. "That's all right, Fangs. We can still win this."
