"I don't recognize this writing, do you?"

"No, I don't."

"I don't recognize it either." Sam and Daniel looked at the Colonel skeptically. Teal'c raised an eyebrow.

Sam stooped down to examine the panel further. She touched a square-shaped, orange button and the other squares blinked. The panel beeped.

"Carter, what are you doing?" The Colonel asked.

"I think to activate whatever the panel is linked to, you have to punch in the right color-code. The problem is, there's probably a thousand combinations."

"Oh...I knew that." The Colonel responded. She punched in a random color-code, and the panel rang. She gasped as the ground seemed to fall out from under her. "Carter!" Sam heard his warning shout and rolled away from the spot, just in time for a set of stairs to appear.

Sam glanced at Colonel O'Neill and took a breath. "What should we do now, Sir?" She asked.

He looked down the dark pathway of stairs into the nothingness that laid there. "I'll make contact with General Hammond to tell him what we've found. Carter, you and Daniel stay there and keep an eye on those stairs. Teal'c-"

"I will stand guard to assure that no Goa'uld are to be found."

"Right."

Colonel O'Neill walked back towards the Stargate to give General Hammond the news, and Sam waited anxiously for a reply.

Just when Sam had began to worry, her CO came walking back to them, with his hat on his head. "The General says that we can see if there's anything down there; he'll send another team through if we don't respond in a few hours."

Teal'c made his way back to where the stairs laid, untouched by human hands. Or Jaffa hands, for that matter. Sam had a feeling that if the Goa'uld knew what was here, they would claim this place quickly.

Daniel was the first to speak. "Shall we?"

Sam looked at the Colonel and he responded with, "Sure, let's just walk right in." Jack looked towards Sam. "Ladies first."

Sam walked in first, and almost ran into a big metal door. A holo-image popped up in front of her. "Who are you? How did you get here?"

Daniel walked up and answered, "We are explorers from a planet called Earth. We mean no harm."

The holo-image of the heavy-set man began to glitch. He sounded worried.

"Are you Taur'i?"

"Yes, we are."

"How did you find this place?" Sam interrupted quickly. She was growing tired of the chit-chat, and the Colonel was getting antsy.

"I de-coded your panel. It was simple, because you thought that one might assume it was hard. But because-"

The Colonel interrupted her. "Ok, so we found this place. Ya gonna let us in?" The holo-image disappeared.

"What just happened?"

"Sir, I don't think they've ever had visitors before. Apparently they wanted themselves to stay hidden...whoever they are."
The holo-image reappeared. It was a different man. "State your names, please."

Jack sighed. "Colonel Jack O'Neill."

"Dr. Daniel Jackson."

"Major Samantha Carter."

"Teal'c ...of Chu'lak."

"You are the defenders of our people. You are welcome. Come."
