Chapter Ten: Sam: Experemintation
The effects of the drug were truly amazing. But Carter was still very unsure about side-affects. Dr. Slache also said that the drug had caused some people problems, from allergic reactions to genetic problems. She put the serum through a series of tests, but there wasn't much of a result. She did however find that the drug was a poison to the Goa'uld, and anyone who had had a Gou'ald host. Well, there went her chances.
Daniel and the Colonel were meeting with the Four as she tested the drug, and talked with the General about what they had learned. Sam had plenty of other projects to work on, and she had already missed a lecture she was supposed to give. However, a good friend was able to fill her shoes. Sam figured she wouldn't be so lucky next time.
She enjoyed her time with the Agumas, especially Dr. Slache. They were already beginning to learn more about each other's technologies and culture, which excited Sam a whole lot more than doing paperwork. But she had extra work to do, and didn't have time to play around. The thing that killed her most was that she had no clue how the negotiations were going, and she kept expecting Colonel O'Neill to walk through the door with a joke or two.
After a few hours of work, Sam began to gather more BDU's for the team, just in case they decided to stay on PX9-053 longer than usual. Then, after notifying the General that she was once again leaving, she headed through the Stargate and hoped for the best.

Sam appeared at the other side of the Stargate, and, out of nowhere, a giant blast shot at her from the sky. She was able to get out of its way quickly, but she saw two other gliders who were repeatedly shooting at her.
How do they know...
She checked her radio. "Colonel where are you?" She asked urgently. He answered.
"Carter, you're back?!" He shouted. "Look, keep low. Baal's forces have been detected, and they're trying to fire on the tunnels."
"I was just at the Stargate. We got lucky. They haven't guarded it."
"We're trying to evacuate these people down here. Watch...Stargate-"
"Sir-Sir what?" Her voice began to shake. Another glider fled over, and Sam was sure to keep herself hidden.
They're never going to get out of there...the gliders are coming in too heavy.
Suddenly, the Gate swooshed again. Teal'c came walking through, with a staff weapon in hand, and began shooting at the gliders. He destroyed one with two shots, then dodged a blast from the other. He shot again and was soon able to destroy the other one, but the third one disappeared. "Are you alright Major Carter?" He asked, and she realized he had spotted her.
As she ran to Teal'c, her radio made noise. "Carter...we need...help-"
She glanced at Teal'c. "Colonel O'Neill is in need of assistance." He said.
"Can you guard the Gate?" Sam asked. He nodded. "If we don't come back..."
"I will fight to the death, Major Carter."
She began running towards the tunnels, doing the same way they came when they first found the panel. She ran down the tunnels, and called out for her fellow teammates. "Colonel, are you there?!" The ground shook. Oh gosh. "Daniel?" She called.
"Carter!"
"Sir!"
"Sam, are you alright?" Jack and Daniel came running up to her, with Dr. Slache and a large group of people following. "The serum cannot be administered to anymore people, not in its current state."
"What about your soldiers?"
"There's not enough of them to even stand up against Baal's forces."
Sam looked towards the Colonel. He was limping. "Sir, we need to check that."
"Later, Carter. We have to evacuate these people first. Where's Teal'c?"
"He's guarding the Ga-"
"Major Carter! I am in need of your assistance. The Gate is being guarded by many Jaffa...I have been spotted!"
"We'll be there, Teal'c."
Daniel looked at Dr. Slache. Then, at the group. "Can you handle them?" He asked.
"We'll be fine. But we need to get out of these tunnels."
