Chapter Nine: Daniel: Alliances

So it had finally been decided, they would continue negotiations with the Agumas. He and Jack were talking with the Four, the leaders of the Aguman people. They made all their decisions together, and so far, it had worked. If one of the Four died, another elder would be elected to take their place.

The small group was very different. It consisted of General Orak, Dr. Slache, and two others Daniel hadn't yet gotten to know. The first was Mas Bossa, a middle aged man with brown hair, and a stocky body. The second was Re'trac, a former servant of Baal. He was a lot like Teal'c, except smaller.
Right now it was just Daniel and Jack; Sam and Teal'c had went back through the Stargate; Sam to study her new drug, and Teal'c to tell the other rebel Jaffa of a new alliance.
"So, what have you to offer us? Are we not more advanced than you?" Jack nudged Daniel's arm.
"Hm? Oh, yes, uh...we are able to give you information about the Gou'ald that you've been unable to receive in the past years."
Dr.Slache leaned forward. "What information?" She asked.
"Well, what do you want to hear?"
General Orak had a looked as though he had something on his mind. "Of the System Lords closer to us, who is still alive?" He asked.
"Well, it's hard to be sure, but the main threat would be Anubis, Baal, and Chronus."
"Can you offer us gate addresses?" Dr. Slache asked.
"We can offer you a variety of gate addresses, yes."
Jack leaned over and cut in, "That comes with some...limitations though."
Mas Bossa shot a look at Jack. "If you can limit us, we can limit you."
Dr. Slache looked nervous. "Look, when it comes down to it, we all share the same goal."
Re'trac spoke, for the first time that day, and again, he reminded Daniel of Teal'c.
    "The annihilation of the Gou'ald."
    No one spoke.
"Then it is settled. All in favor?" Everyone but Bossa raised their hands. At first, Daniel was afraid he'd say no, and he glanced over at Jack. Bossa raised his hand. Daniel pulled at his collar, and watched as the Four left. All but Slache.
"I don't think he liked us very much," Daniel commented, gesturing towards Bossa.
"He doesn't like anyone." Dr. Slache replied.
"So, I'd assume you and the other Four would like to meet General Hammond?"
    "That would be required, yes."
"Well, before too long he should be coming through the gate with Sam."
"We shall take all the safety precautions available."
