Chapter Three

Elias whistled his way down the corridor. His two weeks vacation had been productive. He now had a solid plan he was certain would prove to everyone that the SG teams were a liability Earth couldn't afford to keep around any longer.

He knocked lightly on General Carter's door and entered when she called out. "General, good afternoon."

"Mr. Albrecht, what can I do for you today?"

"I've come to return these mission reports. I've gone through them and I don't see any issues that need to be addressed. I need the coming week's scheduled missions."

"I don't know why the IOA insists on seeing the list of the scheduled missions. They don't tell you anything about the planets." She navigated her computer screen. The printer on the shelves behind her whirred to life when she hit print. When it finished she grabbed the papers and handed them to him.

"Thank you, General, I'll get out of your hair now." He whistled his way out of the room. He now had everything he needed to move forward with his plan. He drove home, parked, and went into his condo. It had taken some maneuvering to get his hands on one of the Alliance's communication devices that the SGC had sent over to the RBA without leaving a paper trail that led back to him. Now that he had the mission list he could put everything into motion.

In his office, he unlocked the wall safe and removed the Alliance radio. It took him a moment to figure out how it worked then he made the call he was certain would change his life for the better.

"This is Elias Albrecht, I'm looking for Nesrin." He waited, then tried again several times.

"This Wera of the Lucian Alliance. Who are you? How did you find this frequency and what business do you have with Nesrin?" she asked.

"I am Elias Albrecht of the Earth governmental organization known as the IOA. I want to speak with Nesrin."

"About what?" she snapped.

"I have a proposition for her and I will only speak with her. The details are none of your concern."

She snorted. "If you think I'm going to go to Nesrin with that sort of message, you're delusional."

He ground his teeth. "I have a way for her to be rid of SG-1 permanently."

"See, was it so hard to say that? I'll contact her and give her your message but I can't guarantee she'll give a shit."

"Just get the message to her."

"I'll contact you as soon as I hear from her." The radio went silent.

Elias released a satisfied little chuckle. If Nesrin was smart, and he knew she was, she'd jump at the chance to rid herself of Malachy and his team. They had interfered with her plans many times, she'd even put out bounties on them.

"Nothing to do now but wait." He poured himself some brandy, toasted his brilliance, and drank it in one swallow.

Elias jerked awake when the radio crackled from his nightstand. He pulled himself to a sitting position, clicked on the light, and picked up the radio. It had been four days since he spoke to Wera about his message to Nesrin and he'd begun to believe she had chosen to ignore his message.

"Hello, this is Nesrin of the Lucian Alliance, attempting to reach Elias Albrecht."

"This is Elias, thank you for responding," he told her.

"You proposed a way to rid me of SG-1?"

"Yes, is there a way we could meet in person to discuss it?"

"I can send a small shuttle craft down to pick you up and bring you to my ship if you wish."

"Can you do that without being detected?" He threw off the covers and began gathering clothes to get dressed.

"Of course, we can. You'll need to move to someplace with enough room to land a craft. Take the radio with you, I can track the signal and find you that way."

"All right, I'll need to drive there, give me a bit."

"I look forward to hearing from you."

He dressed quickly and drove out to a secluded area about thirty minutes from his condo. He stepped out of his car and stared out into the darkness. After a moment he pulled the radio device from his pocket and tapped the button twice.

"Are you ready to be picked up?" Nesrin's voice came from the radio.

"Yes."

"My men will be there shortly."

He leaned back against the car and waited. Several minutes passed before a ship appeared in the field. He pushed away from the car and walked to where the ship had landed. The door opened and a woman stepped out. She was tall, slender, and carried a pair of wicked-looking curved blades crossed on her back. He plastered on a smile.

"Good evening, I'm Elias Albrecht."

"Fabulous for you, I'm Wera, I'll be escorting you to Nesrin's ship. Are you carrying any weapons?"

"No, I didn't think it would be appropriate to show up to a meeting meant to solidify an alliance between us packing weaponry."

She spun away from him with a snort, her deep blond hair flared out as she turned.

He resisted the urge to grin at the way she'd dismissed him. She was Nesrin's soldier and she wanted him to know he had no power here. He knew where the power lay, he didn't need reminding. If Nesrin chose to kill him then he could do nothing about it. He was taking one hell of a risk, but if the result got Malachy out of his life then he'd risk it. He was tired of playing second fiddle to his moronic step-brother.

"Sit down and stay quiet," Wera ordered.

"Yes, ma'am." He settled into his seat with a grin. The ship took off after a moment and he enjoyed the ride. Nesrin's ship was hidden on the far side of the moon along with Wera's ship. They were both cloaked, or so Wera explained. Nesrin's ship uncloaked briefly so they could enter the hangar bay. Wera landed in the bay and they disembarked. She led him through corridors to the bridge where Nesrin was waiting for his arrival.

"Nesrin, I present Elias Albrecht of Earth."

Nesrin turned and smiled at him. "You are taking a large risk coming here to meet with me. I could kill you and no one would be the wiser."

"Indeed you could."

"Then why risk it?" Nesrin asked, her brows raised.

"Because we both have a common goal. To rid ourselves of SG-1," he explained.

She folded her arms beneath her breasts. "How do I know what your goal is? This could be some elaborate hoax to lure me into a trap."

"Believe what you wish, but I know you had SG-1's radios bugged briefly, therefore you should know I hold no love for my step-brother or his team."

She sauntered several steps closer to him. "Yes, you have a point, you and Colonel Hughes certainly don't get along well. So, dazzle me, what is your proposal?"

He pulled the mission list from his pocket. "This is a list of SG-1's next six missions. You can ambush them. They won't expect it."

She took the paper from him and glanced at it. "And what do you want in exchange for this information?"

"I want them dead. I want no possibility that they will ever return to Earth."

A smile spread slowly across her face. "I agree to this arrangement. Know this, Elias Albrecht, if I discover this information is bad or if SG-1 is expecting my people and they walk into a trap, there is nowhere in this galaxy you could hide from me. I will find you and you will suffer."

"Understood. Betray me and the result will be the same."

She laughed. "Wera will return you to Earth."

"Thank you for hearing me out."

"It will benefit me, therefore it was worth it."

He nodded and allowed Wera to escort him from the room. At long last, he was going to be rid of Malachy and his little group of delinquents. And none of it would fall back on him. Nesrin would get blamed for their demise.

Nesrin studied the list. "Get us to a planet with a Stargate, I want to send some men to the first planet on this list. Before I can plan anything I need to know the information is good."

"Are you certain that's a good idea? What if it is an ambush?" Fordal asked her.

"I'm not sending down an entire greeting party, just a few men to watch the Gate and see if SG-1 comes through expecting us to be there. I want to see how they behave."

"That makes sense, I'm sorry I questioned you."

She nodded. "Gather a small group of your men and be prepared to leave as soon as we reach the Gate."

"Yes, Nesrin."

"When you get to the planet, keep in touch. I want to know everything that happens."

"Of course, Nesrin."

They left Earth and jumped into hyperspace. It took them several hours to reach the nearest planet with a Stargate. Fordal and his men flew down to the planet's surface and gated to the first planet on the mission list to await SG-1's arrival the following day.

Nesrin paced the flight deck as she waited.

"The Stargate has connected," Fordal told her quietly.

"Remain hidden, do not let them see you. This is a recon mission only. If they see you it will blow our element of surprise."

"Understood." The radio went silent.

She began pacing again as she waited for Fordal to report in again.

"They have moved away from the Gate and seem at ease. It doesn't appear as if they expected anyone to be here waiting for them."

"Get back here and let's get the hell out of here."

"Yes, Nesrin."

She remained still, staring out at the emptiness of space. This was perfect. Elias has provided her with the exact information she needed to rid herself of Colonel Hughes and his gang of miscreants. She needed to put plans into place and be ready when the time came. They would not escape her this time.

No, this time they would die and she would take great pleasure in making certain their deaths were slow and agonizing.
