Congratulations

-CyborgsPOV-

"Where's Beastboy?" Raven asked as calmly as she could manage.

"We'll get him. Don't worry. Now push Raven, I need you to give one more big push."

Starfire left the room. The baby came. I sighed, relieved it was over, and that Starfire had left. I'm glad all she saw was the head. I'm glad she won't be the first to hold the child.

Raven relaxed as the baby's scream filled the air. I cut the cord, smiling. The baby was so light, almost nothing.

"It's a girl!" I whispered to Raven. She smiled.

"I'll clean her." Victoria offered.

I handed Raven her baby that's when Beastboy came tumbling in. His eyes filled with tears as he stood next to Raven. Starfire was behind him, smiling cheerfully as she once done when we were teenagers.

"Ah, look at her." He whispered and rubbed his daughters cheek with his thumb. "She's green, like me!"

"And her eyes." I chimed in. "They're purple."

Beastboy could barley contain his excitement. "Your eyes! My skin! She's perfect! Just perfect."

Raven laughed and tickled the baby's chin. "Hear that Donna? Your daddy and I think you're just perfect."

"Hey, don't forget me." I chuckled.

We all held her, got our time with her, our new journey, our new happiness. Our new hope. Starfire was eager to hold her, she hadn't yet. Victoria handed Donna over.

Starfire held Donna like a professional mommy. "She's so tiny."

Raven held hands with Beastboy, they couldn't stop smiling, neither could I. I crossed my arms and looked back to Starfire, she turned so her back was facing us.

"Beastboy, Raven, Cyborg, my dear friends. This baby is proof that you all disobeyed me."

My heart sank. From the corner of my eye I saw Beastboy and Raven stare at Starfire with a panicked look. Her voice was hostile, like she has been backed into a corner and she needed to claw her way back. Or maybe she's planned this.

She continued. "You lied to me, you betrayed me, and you will be punished."

"No..." Raven whispered. I saw them inch forward.

"The punishment is death. Do you know who I'm going to kill?" Starfire barley turned, we could only see half of her smirking face.

"Starfire, no!" Beastboy screamed while turning into a tiger, we heard a snap. Donna stopped crying.

I stood there, my muscles wouldn't work, couldn't move. I wasn't breathing, neither was Raven, Beastboy, or Victoria.

Tiger Beastboy stood a little behind starfire, his ears fell to his head, his jaw a little open.

"Don't you ever disobey me again." Starfire said, she let Donna fall from her arms and to the floor. She barley made a noise as she hit, the blanket cushioned her fall.

Starfire, in all grace, walked out of the room, ordering Victoria to follow. When they were gone Beastboy slowly crawled towards Donna, his hands on each side of his head. He crawled on his elbows and knees. I didn't notice when he went human.

"Is she..." He whispered. We couldn't see her, only her white towel that wrapped around her.

"No." Raven spoke distantly. She leaned forward, she began to climb off the bed.

"Raven..." I whispered. She ignored me and climbed quicker off, her t-shirt covered her. She kneeled in front of the bundle and picked it up. Beastboy got to his knees and wrapped an arm around her. They huddled. I know they were crying from their movement, their shoulders bounced, their head bowed.

"No." I heard Raven cry, she moved back and forth, and repeated her sayings.

I moved in front of them. Raven held Donna tightly against her own body, Beastboy had his own hand where Donna's head would be.

"This isn't the end of the world." I assured them. "We will get justice."

They didn't respond but I'm sure they heard me. I looked at the door and shifted my arm into a canon. As I jogged out I noticed that my face was wet from tears.

-BeastBoysPOV-

Starfire woke me up, she signaled me to be quiet and urged me to follow her. I leaped to my paws and walked out with her. When Mari's door closed behind us Starfire excitedly whispered that Raven was in labor.

She and I ran for Ravens room. As soon I saw Raven my heart leaped. Finally, I thought while I tripped over myself when I saw her holding our child. "Ah, look at her." I leaned close and rubbed her cheek. "She's green, like me!"

The first thing a father and daughter can bond over, same skin color. I wondered if she can shape-shift like me? I'll teach her all things I know about being a shifter. I know all the best hiding places too!

"And her eyes." Cyborg almost sang. "They're purple."

I shook with anticipation. "Your eyes! My skin! She's perfect! Just perfect."

Raven smiled and laughed adorably, she tickled our baby's chin. "Hear that Donna? Your daddy and I think you're just perfect."

"Hey, don't forget me." Cyborg chuckled.

I smiled. Cyborgs the cool uncle that comes everyday to visit, Raven is the mommy, me of course is the daddy, and Starfires the grumpy aunt. Mar'i is the not-so-related-sister. Everyone else can be distant relatives or friends.

The first time I got to hold her I almost broke down crying. "She's beautiful." I whispered. "You're beautiful." I whispered to her. My daughter, Ravens daughter, our daughter. I'm so gonna cry.

Eventually Starfire had to hold her. "She's so tiny." She said.

I'm so proud. Raven and I, we made her, together, in this very bed. I squeezed Ravens gentle hand. I looked at her and kissed her forehead, we both turned back to Starfire, my cheeks already hurt from smiling.

Cyborg stood at the foot of the bed, his arms were crossed and he was staring at Starfire, well at her back. He was smiling too. Donna, a new member to our family, a new hope.

"Beastboy, Raven, Cyborg, my dear friends. This baby is proof that you all disobeyed me."

What. Her voice, it was cold, determined with hatred almost, yet she sounded insecure. But why does she feel this? I thought...wasn't the gang getting back together again?

She continued, Cyborg had loosened his stance and was staring at her. She spoke again. "You lied to me, you betrayed me, and you will be punished."

"No..." Raven whispered next to me, her grip was tight, my eyes were wide. We leaned closer, what is Starfire planning? I could now tell I was glaring her.

"The punishment is death. Do you know who I'm going to kill?" She moved so I saw half of her face, she dared a smile. Heat washed over me.

"Starfire, no!" I yelled, my instincts took over and I became a tiger, but I was too late. A horrible snapping sound came from Starfires direction.

My heart stopped. I couldn't breathe, I couldn't move.

No. No, No, No, No, No, No. This didn't just happen. That didn't just happen. What just happened? Why has Donna stopped crying? Why is it so quiet?

"Don't you ever disobey me again." Starfire said. I watched as she dropped Donna to the ground. I heard the tiniest thud, the faint sound of a last breath escaped her body, the towel protected her from breaking anything.

I didn't noticed that I'd been human, only when I started to crawl towards her did I notice I was using my elbows for leverage. My hands gripped the side of my head.

"Is she..." I began. Surely she's alive, I can't see her but she's alive, right?

"No." Raven said like she wasn't all there.

Next thing I knew Raven was next to me, she picked up Donna. My throat tightened. I wrapped an arm around her and with my other hand I laid it on Donna's head. Something was wrong with Raven, she was crying. My own vision became foggy. Dammit, don't cry. I had to be strong for her but I couldn't. Something stronger than I made me cry, even if I couldn't comprehend what just happened, all I know is that I was crying.

Why is Donna so quiet? Why is Raven saying no? Why's she saying breath, baby, breath, so quietly? Donna's just...she's just...sleeping? Right?

A snapping noise. The room fell quiet. My chest tightened, I struggled to breathe, I was thinking the impossible.

Starfire killed Donna? She wouldn't, she wanted the baby, it wasn't a lie...Donna can't be dead.

I noticed myself saying prayers, begging for her to be alive, it happened too quickly.

She's dead.

It hit me. Now I know why I was crying. Donna was dead. Starfire killed her, snapped her neck, crushed her windpipe, she killed her, it doesn't matter how.

I heard Cyborg say something about the end and justice. He left the room.

-RavensPOV-

My bed was wet and I was in pain. It's unbearable but I keep quiet. I can't trust Starfire to be here, to deliver the baby. Would she snatch up mine and Garfield's only child? Take it away forever? Would I even get to see it?

I cant scream, but I do cry. Some words inaudible to my ears escape my lips. The pain would stop, then come back, stop, come back, stop, come back. Is this really how childbirth feels like?

The words got louder as the pain became more intense. I opened my eyes to find Starfire standing above me. She's not Batman so why does she feel the need to be so sneaky?

"It's happening." She whispered. "I'll get some towels. Stay calm and breath."

She left. She left me in my wet bed. This pain had been going on for hours, I guess I couldn't do this by myself. I couldn't run away with Garfield and my friends anymore. She knew already. It was too late.

I looked down and saw blood. My heart began to race but I had to stay calm. I reached down there and felt a bulge, it's happening. It hurts. I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't.

I screamed. A long painful scream. I felt a little better. Victor ran in like I was being murdered, his eye widen when he saw me.

"Victor." My throat was dry, I hadn't had anything to drink since it started. "Help me."

"Spread'em. Let me have a look." He said and I did. He sat and took a look, his hands were cold. "Raven, you're already crowning. It's happening. The baby's head is showing. I need you to breathe evenly, I'll get help. Don't push unless absolutely necessary. I'll be right back." He left and I heard him yell for Starfire.

He came back in with Starfire and Victoria. He laid the towels barley underneath me and told me to push. But I couldn't, Garfield. I need him here. I NEED him.

"Where's Beastboy?" I asked surprising myself with how calm my voice sounded, like giving birth was a normal everyday thing.

"We'll get him. Don't worry. Now push Raven, I need you to give one more big push."

Starfire left the room. Thank you, Azarath. I pushed and plop.

There's a baby. A baby's cry filled the air, I sank into the bed enjoying the sound of our child crying. At least I'll get to hear it if I don't get to hold it.

"It's a girl!" Victor said. Donna.

The girl cleaned Donna and handed her to me. My heart melted when I saw her green skin. Garfield will so love this, I thought just as soon as he came fumbling in.

I was right, he noticed her skin and loved it. He called her perfect, she was
perfect. The most perfect baby, I couldn't agree more.

They all held her. Garfield almost cried,
Victor was extremely gentle with her, Victoria looked at her and smiled a great big smile, I think this was her first time seeing a new born child.

Starfire just had to hold her, I hated that idea. Donna will be gone now, taken away and we'll hardly ever see her. But, that made me smile more, I'd still see her. And each time I see her she would have grown.

My cheeks began to hurt from smiling, yes, I know she's tiny, didn't you see her compared to Victor? Chicken to a T-Rex.

"Beastboy, Raven, Cyborg, my dear friends. This baby is proof that you all disobeyed me."

My body felt like a deer in headlights.

"You lied to me, you betrayed me, and you will be punished."

You don't have to taunt us, we already know your taking her away, please don't rub it in our faces.

Wait. No.

She's planning something else. She's feels... My eyes widened.

"No." I whispered and leaned forward.

"The punishment is death. Do you know who I'm going to kill?" She turned towards us, that smile she gave us, pure evil.

She's going to kill... My thought was interrupted when Beastboy screamed, but the snapping of Donna's neck confirm my final thought.

My eyes locked onto Starfire, no one was breathing. "Don't you ever disobey me again." Her arms relaxed letting go of Donna. Our baby fell to the ground. Garfield stared at her. I couldn't feel Donna's life source anymore. Her soul, so innocent, still lingered here.

"Is she..." He asked.

"No..." I began to climb off the bed. We can still save her! We can still save her!

I ignored everything except Donna and her soul. Please stay. I begged her soul but it began to fade away.

I clutched her in my arms, I tried to heal her but my powers were stunted.

"Breathe, baby, breathe. Please? Please, Donna? Please. Breathe for mommy, breathe for daddy."

Our daughters dead and I couldn't do anything about it. I noticed, after awhile, that I had been crying and rocking back and forth. I noticed it because I heard Garfield breathing, I felt his arm around me.

We were alone. "Garfield?"

"Yes, Raven?" He responded numbly.

"Donna, she's our perfect baby, isn't she?" I sniffed and held her like any mother does.

"Yes. She is." He placed his hand on top of her forehead and closed his eyes, I did the same. I love you, Donna.
