Almost

-BeastboysPOV-

"Your dad would've kicked my butt if he knew I was giving you candy this early in the morning."

Mar'i, Nightstar, gasped. "But what is it?" The chocolate bar already began melting in her radioactive hand. She examined the melting brown sugar and squeezed the bar. "Its chocolate. Eat it before it becomes syrup or eat it even then, but you're making mess and I don't want to clean you."

Naturally though I was already wetting piece of cloth. When I looked back at her she still hadnt even licked the chocolate. I laughed in a whiny way, tossed the cloth in the air turned into a poodle, rolled on the ground on front of Mar'i then catched the wet cloth in my mouth. I sat like a dog even when I went human again, I spat the cloth on the carpeted gound, and looked at her beggingly. "Mar'i, please eat it! I swear its really good! I'd never lie to you!" I smiled at the last part, hoping it would win her over.

She barley stuck her tongue out and licked the chocolate. After that she ate the candy in a rush, she licked her hand clean only after seconds. My eye brows raised in surprise. "...You must get that from your mother."

"Tamaran. My people..."

"I remember. I'm glad you liked it!" I stood and patted her head, she closed one eye and looking at me with the other. "Where did you get this chocolate? May I have more?"

I pinched her nose and laughed. "Maybe. Traveling dimensions wears Raven out, especially now that she's pregnant. She got you a bar because she wanted one too." I rolled my eyes. "Ladies and their chocolate."

"Dimensions?" She tilted her head.

"Different worlds." I squinted my eyes unsure how to explain. "Maybe Cy can-" Automatically I turned into a cat and began to purr and cuddle into Nightstars legs while I casually looked over to the door that Starfire just walked through.

"Here kitty, kitty." Starfires words were cold and bitter, she mocked me by clapping her hands slowly wanting me to come to her. "Here kitty, kitty."

"Mother? What are you doing?" She wrapped her arms around me. I snuggled into Mar'i while staring cautiously at Starfire.

Her smile made my spine crawl, made me want to melt into my human form, I even felt Mar'i shiver.

"I have a present for your cat."

"Present?" She held me tighter when Starfire walked closer with her hands out to me. "A scratching post every animal needs." A small laugh left her forbidden lips, she grabbed me, her nails dug into my skin as she ripped me away from Mar'i. My cries were loud from pain, the awkward position she had me, everything I did hurt.

She held her arms to me. "Mother! What are you doing?!" She began to cry, that's a good sign. She's not her mother at least.

"I'll be back with your cat." Starfire, like a solider, marched out of the room leaving Mar'i to cry and wonder in agony after I signed to her not to follow. She held me by the scruff of my neck making me somewhat paralyzed. She walked me to Cyborgs room and threw me against the wall. When I hit the wall I transformed back to human and fell into a puddle of blood.

My eyes wide, my breath short and shaky, I trembled just staring at my bloody palms.

"Next time you disobey me, it will be much worse."

My eyes barley twitched when I looked to Starfire, she pointed towards the wall opposite of me.

There, the floor was deeper with blood, and one the wall was my best friend. The site of him made me hurl. His arms and legs had been ripped from him, he was barley alive, the blood dropped from his distracted wounds. He swayed his head trying to look up to me.

"Beast...boy." His breath was as shaky as mine but even quieter. Starfire laughed. I looked to the wall she threw me on and there was his arms and legs, posted there as trophies. From somewhere I heard Raven call to me, she must've been in danger. My back bent awkwardly and I heard a pop but it was my own fault. I screamed and screamed backing away from Starfire, the blood, the trophies.

Everything whirled around and around then faded to black. I woke up in Ravens room. Victor, Raven, and Bruce were there. I sat up trembling staring at Victor, his hanging body flashing through my mind. Bruce laid his hand on my shoulder.

"You had a seizure in your sleep, Beastboy."

Raven stood by Bruce, her hands on her cheeks. She's been crying. "I couldn't wake you."

"I had to give you an anesthetic. Then another." Victor, Cyborg, sat down in a chair facing me. "What did you see, man? It was like I got murdered. You kept screaming my name."

I put both hands on my head, slowly, I began to tremble. "You did." I whispered.

"It wasn't real." Raven sat next to me and laid her hand on my knee. "He's still here, in front of you, look at him."

"It was horrible." I shook my head.

"Look at him." Raven said a bit more harshly.

"He's right there, Garfield." Bruce whispered.

"I'm here, dude." He said silently, staring with his sad eyes. I glanced at him once and couldn't hold it in any longer, crying, I latched myself onto him. His voice was laced with pain but he tried to be funny about it. "You're gonna make me cry, man." He laughed and I laughed.

Raven quietly said that she was going to give us alone time, she left with Bruce.

-RavensPOV-

I left him there was his best friend. He needed to be assured he was alive and well. In the hall next to my room I pretended to give Bruce a healing session, it was my job, to heal the people, to take away their stress so they can continue working peacefully.

He sat in a chair, my hands floated just above his face with a white magic moving around him like water.

"You need to do this with your husband." His voice was low and quiet. I saw him swallow.

"I am, Bruce. How's your son?"

"You tell me."

I sighed. "Bruce."

"Starfire could come any second. Don't call me Bruce."

"Alright then, Steve."

He grumbled and I began to legitimately heal him. Taking in his stress, worries, fears. It was only a second later that he grabbed my wrist, stopping the session, he moved my hand barley away from his face, revealing one eye. "Raven, no. We all know how your powers work."

I relaxed from the tension that was holding me up. "I do this everyday, Steve." He put my hand back where it was. "Pretend, don't do."

My magic began once again, swirling around his head. "You know it doesn't last long anyway." It was quiet for a few minutes. Nothing more then pretend healing, I thought he'd fallen asleep, which was natural when in a healing session with me, but his wasn't a healing session.

"How's work?" I asked.

"Lifting steel isn't the best job."

"Straining on your muscles?"

"Hm." He agreed. "I thought I'd be use to it by now."

"I can fix that."

"No."

"If she comes then I'll cover your face and say I'm giving you a mental heal."

He sighed and reluctantly agreed. Good choice I told him and worked on his shoulders, arms, chest and legs. "You won't be sore in the morning at least."

"Thank you, Raven."

"You're welcome, Steve."

He grumbled again.

-Cyborgs POV-

"Ain't no mountain high enough!" I sang.

"Ain't no valley low enough." Beastboy sang.

"Ain't no river wide enough! To keep me from getting to you baby!" We both sang.

My turn again. "Remember the day? I set you free! I told you, you could count on me!"

"From that day I made a vow! I'll always be there when you want me, someway, somehow." BB and I high fived.

"Cause baby!" We both sang then BB sang solo again. "There ain't no mountain high enough!"

I sang. "Ain't no river wide enough."

"To keep me from getting to you!" We finished by dancing and high fiveing all over the place.

"Tooooffuuuu is stillll the best thing ever!" He turned into a caterpillar and wiggled on my shoulder.

"Ew, gross man, I don't want your gross caterpillar juice on me." I went to flick him off but he turned into a green butterfly. "Can't touch this!" He squeaked into my ear and began to sing that song. I laughed at his tiny voice.

Bruce left, so again it was just the original three hanging out in the basement with the long hallway. We talked about my new friend Victoria.

"It makes sense. A Victor with a Victoria."

"Practically brother and sister."

I smacked Beastboys head. "Ew man don't say that!"

"Garfield, out of everything you've ever said, that was the most stupid." Raven nodded just to prove her point further.

Beastboy laughed. "Sorry Cy! Didn't mean for you to think of her as a sister now!"

"I don't and won't!" I shook my hips from side to side. "My hips done lie."

Raven laughed and face palmed. "Such kids."

"You're right, Raven. They are kids." We turned around. Starfire was there wearing a purple dress fit for royalty. Raven and I bowed, it took a couple seconds before Beastboy to bow to.

"It's nice to see all of you have reacquainted yourselves with eachother already. I'm happy to see Nightstar isn't with you."

"Her name is Mar'i." Beastboy spoke back quietly.

"What was that Beastboy?"

"He said he likes you hairy." I stood up. "You shave everyday, grow it out girl." I crossed my arms. Beastboy began to laugh, Raven soon followed then I began to laugh too. Starfire smiled, blushed, and looked away, she held in her laughter.

"Her birthday is tomorrow!" She practically screamed at us. We silenced immediately. "All of you are allowed to come but can not communicate with each other. If I see her talk to any of you then you will be punished. All of you."

I saw Beastboy shiver from the corner of my eye. Raven walked towards Starfire. "Of course, Starfire. We except nothing more or nothing less."

"Except death." Starfire growled and walked away gracefully.

"She has her panties in a bunch." I whispered to Beastboy. He looked at me wide eyed. "You! You did that!" He poked me. "You joked! In her presence! You!" He continuously poked my chest. "You, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you!"

"Are you saying I'm incapable of telling a joke?"

"You never do it anymore." Raven stepped in and laid her hand on my shoulder. "I'm happy knowing Victoria is bringing the best in you."

"Heh. Yeah, did you guys notice starfire? After we all started laughing."

"She turned away." Beastboy shrugged.

"I saw her smile too." Raven rubbed her eye. "Somewhere in that heartless beast there's still the Starfire we knew."

"The plan..." Beastboy leaned on a wall.

"...Can be changed..." I said, crossing my arms again.

"...if she has." Raven finished.

"I don't think I'll ever be able to trust Starfire." He huffed.

"Agreed." Raven and I said mutually.

"Titans?" A smile grew on my face. "Time for Titan planning?"

"Going against Batman? I'm always in!" Beastboy put his hand in the center of us.

"Our Titan plans only ever failed 264 times out of the 9,132 total. But who's counting?" Raven laid her hand on Beastboys.

"Well alright!" I laid my hand on Ravens. "Titans together on five!"

"Really?"

"Yes, Raven, we're a team we gotta act like one. Now. One! Two! Three! Four! Go!"

"Titans Together!" We said, throwing our hands in the air.

"Lame." Raven crossed her arms.
