The Darkness
The galaxies and constellations judge me nightly
I hide away from the sky in a vain attempt at regaining my sanity
There is no comfort in the hours after midnight
No hope for me to ever love or be loved
The daylight hides my flaws
Muffling them with muted light and bright blue mornings
I shroud myself in the appeals of dawn
Where no one views my face as anything else than another visage
But the nighttime tears away my fragile veneer
Exposing me for what I am and what I will never be
Avoid the ever present darkness
Shield myself in the falsity of the sun
My repose is ruined by black voids and glittering stars
Tearing me apart with their cold logic and knowing eyes
- starr
