Once I got home, my mom was already setting the table while Dave was washing his hands at the sink.

"Hey, I am home." I say as I walk into the kitchen.

"Welcome home, sweetie. Go put your stuff away and wash up for dinner, ok?" She said.

"Okay. Hi Dave. How was work?" I asked him.

"It was fine. Just another boring day." He said.

After I put my school stuff away and washed up, we all sat down at the dinner table to eat.
While Dave and Mom were talking, I said "Mom, can I ask you something?"

Mom and Dave stop talking and look at me, waiting for me to ask my question.

"So, remember the new girl that I was telling you about the other day? Well, her name is Stardust and then today after lunch, I got this picture in my locker and at first I thought it was a prank but I am not so sure if it is or not. Did by any chance does her name ring a bell? Because the picture showed us as little kids, so, I was wondering if I used play with her before she moved?" I said.

Dave and Mom both look at each other before Mom says "No, I don't think so. I don't recall taking a picture of you and that girl as kids. Maybe it was one of her parents or a baby sitter of hers. I am sorry that I am not much help." She said.

"It's fine, Mom. I was curious that's all." I said.

That was a disappointing answer to get.

I was no closer to finding out the truth or wether or not it was a lie or if I was just making it all up or if it was just a dream after all.
