**** Sai = Yejin ****

Sai was up early, as always. She had already gone to the fitness center and came back before Cho woke up.

She liked it; the peace and quiet of solitary work outs.

But now, she had run out of luck, because Cho had accompanied her to the practice room so that they could smooth out any problems with the dance routines for the last time.

They wanted it to be perfect before they had to perform it tomorrow, in front of their new judges.

The thought made Sai's skin crawl, and she was sure Cho was nervous as well.

"I think that maybe if we switch step 1 and step 2, it will look better," Sai was listing off anything they could change as they tirelessly went through the dance, over and over.

Cho easily slipped into each new routine, sometimes even changing things herself - without notifying Sai, much to the her frustration, as she struggled to guess what would be added or taken out.

But no, Cho didn't speak, unless it had something to do with the events of yesterday.

"Doesn't this look nicer?"

"Man, I can't believe you went to the same school as Jooheon, and you didn't even know he was in Monsta X."

"Do you think we should do a turn or a shimmy between these two moves?"

"I mean, that's actually impressive that you managed that."

"I think the turn goes better."

"What was he like in school?"

"Okay, I think that's all we can change without giving Jiyeon a heart attack."

"A lot of fans think he's a badass, but he really seems like a massive dork."

Sai sighed; Cho would never let it go, would she?

"I mean, it's crazy. I know you're busy with us, but how could you not know an old friend was in the same entertainment company as you, a successful idol no less."

Definitely not.

"Friend? I hardly talked to him," Sai made a face at the unpleasant memories of school, "in fact, I didn't talk much to anyone."

As hard as it was for the others to believe, Sai had managed to slip through school with minimal friends and minimal interactions. She had focused on toning her talents, and learning as many languages as she could.

It was strange to think of their leader as someone who didn't, well, lead in school.

But she hadn't. For the majority of her life, she had remained unnoticed, with great grades and below average popularity. Her parents had sent her to South Korea to get a good education, and to have a chance to pursue her music. They stayed behind, but allowed her to spread her wings. She had to make them proud.

It's not that people didn't like her, it was just that they didn't know her. She didn't speak much, and she had managed to move through everything nearly invisible.

She was sure that when she left school to audition, and eventually got accepted into SM, that her classmates hadn't even noticed that she was gone.

She had struggled with confidence and happiness while in schooling. She figured that was only normal, but it had made her isolate herself. She hadn't been comfortable with herself, or with others.

As soon as she left, things began to get better. She found herself, and getting accepted to train for SM, one of the biggest entertainment companies in Korea, was a bit of an ego boost for her, even if she had ended up leaving.

She didn't regret the excruciating training, because it had helped her improve and also linked her up with her fellow members, who had all decided to leave together.

"But you had to have seen him around, right?"

Sai shrugged, lying, "it was a big school Cho. I mean, christ, even Park Chanyeol from EXO went to the same school as me, though he was levels ahead of me. And yet I didn't talk to him until we were trainees at SM."

Cho nodded, "is that why he's your favourite?"

Sai smacked her arm, "No. I didn't even know him really. But Jooheon, I saw him around a lot at school. Even spoke to him, once or twice, though it was more than a little one-sided."

On his side, surprisingly.

~

"Sai!"

She hurried along, keeping her head down to blend into the other students, and hoping that he couldn't see her.

He could.

She looked away as he began doing aegyo at her; sure, it was cute, but Sai didn't want to see it. She felt rather uncomfortable, actually. Though if it was from him or the school, she couldn't quite tell.

"Leave me alone, please."

She knew what this was about.

She had been stupid enough to say, aloud, that she didn't care for aegyo, and a couple of her classmates had heard. This simply had spread to Jooheon, who was on a rampage to prove her wrong, or change her mind. He must've felt personally targeted, as he liked to refer to himself as the student in charge of aegyo at the school.

She didn't know why; he was a popular guy, and she couldn't see why he'd waste both of their time messing with her.

~

"Well, anyways, he wasn't badass, that's for sure."
