**** Sai = Yejin ****
Sai was trying to take a power nap. The problem was, Cho had turned their room into the social area, and the other members were far from tired.
"Monsta X is finally back from their tour!"
Sai pretended she couldn't hear them, trying really hard to block out the noise and get some much needed rest.
"Ah, I wonder if they'll visit the trainee building. Maybe we can see them!"
They had come to the trainee building, Sai knew.
But why were they here? Was it the managers ploy to keep the girls working hard for their debut? Soobin and Jiyeon would absolutely melt if they got to speak with them. Cho would probably try to show off in an attempt to get their attention; maybe Shownu would agree to have a dance competition with her, she'd love that.
Who were the others members? Minhyuk? Yejin couldn't recall all their names, or faces.
She should really look them up; it was the respectful thing to do.
She made no move to get up.
"I wonder if Shownu will be brave enough to accept my challenge to have a dance-off."
Yep, Sai was right.
"You're opposites except for the dancing talent. Can you imagine you guys as friends?"
"I thought you liked quiet guys Jiyeon."
She snorted. "Quiet guys, not statues!"
"He's actually really nice. His voice is soft, and not emotionless, so don't be so hard on him."
Sai could feel all of them staring at her as soon as she spoke.
"I'm only kidding." Jiyeon was too soft sometimes, always scared she had been too mean.
"How do you know? You don't even listen to them."
Sai sat up, rubbing her face and accepting that she wouldn't get rest any time soon.
"Just like I don't know about the substantial amount of people who already think we're dating." Sai winked at Cho.
Soobin rolled her eyes, glancing at Jiyeon. "We're so hot that we don't need a relationship to get fans."
"Oh, yeah, definitely." Sai laughed as Jiyeon pushed her shoulder. She turned to Cho, "oh, and also, I know because I met Shownu and Hyuk outside the fitness center."
"Minhyuk. You met Minhyuk." Sai nodded away Soobin's correction.
"Maybe it was a nickname, you don't know."
She ignored the 'you're stupid' look they gave her, instead standing up and stretching with a yawn.
When she tries to get rest, she can't; when she doesn't try to rest, she ends up nodding off during the day.
"Your tongue curls when you yawn. You're too cute!" Sai smacked away Jiyeon's hand before it could poke her cheek.
"I'm not cute, I'm scary," she muttered to herself before walking to the door.
She turned back at the doorway, "what are you guys waiting for? We need to practice."
There was a collective groan, but one glare and they were up, though there were hushed complaints the whole way to the practice room.
When they got in, they were met with a mass of people.
Sai immediately led the girls into their introduction, bowing down and hoping that none of them would freak out too much.
"1, 2, 3, hello, we are your STAR!"
In front of them was their manager, alongside the members of Sistar and Monsta X.
The manager looked pleased at their execution, and Sai smiled softly at the small triumph.
"Perfect timing girls, I was just about to send for you. Sistar and Monsta X have agreed to speak with you and help you with anything that you need."
Sai discreetly elbowed Soobin, knowing her mind had definitely gone to an inappropriate place at those words.
While Cho brashly headed right to Shownu, and Jiyeon and Soobin quickly went to speak with Sistar, Sai headed for her manager, who had moved to the side to speak with the dance instructor.
She waited until he was done speaking, and when she had his attention, she tried to mask her thudding heartbeat with steady taps of her foot.
"Excuse me manager, but when we debut, will I still be the leader?"
He gave her a smile, seeing the panic behind her calm face.
"Unless you really want someone else to take over."
She shook her head vehemently, and he laughed.
"Go join your members."
She nodded and quickly moved to Jiyeon's side.
She first spoke with Dasom, who had such a feminine charm that her heart was pounding within seconds.
Then Bora; for a moment she thought that she was doing aegyo, before realizing that it was just her natural voice.
Hyolyn was much different than she was on the television; the strong mask was gone, revealing the kind attitude behind her. She reminded Sai of an older sister, asking if she had eaten today and taken care of herself. Sai felt a heat spread through her body - she felt cared for.
Soyou was very nice, greeting her with a sweet tone, as respectful as she could be.
They spoke briefly about the pride that came with a successful debut, encouraging them to continue working hard in order to achieve their very own success.
Before Sai could speak more, she was alarmed to hear an unnatural squeaking sound, and she quickly moved to where Cho had successfully convinced Shownu to dance.
Looking at their shoes, she wondered if either of them was wearing a bad pair; they usually didn't squeak during dance practices.
No, she turned to see Kihyun and Minhyuk standing by them; Minhyuk's mouth was wide open, seemingly the source of the high pitched sound.
She couldn't help but stare, and nearly jumped when a voice behind her spoke up.
"Sorry, he's part dolphin."
She turned around to see who it was.
Seeing his face, she felt a tightness in her chest; he felt familiar somehow.
Maybe she had actually seen a show of Monsta X without knowing it, and that's how she recognized him.
Something told her that wasn't it.
"Yejin, who do you think won?"
She turned to face Cho, trying to ignore the irking feeling of familiarity.
She couldn't respond.
"Sai? Hello?"
"Wait, Sai? Do I know you?"
She turned back to the boy; how did he know her? It should be the other way around. He was the famous one, after all.
"Lee Jooheon, remember?"
She furrowed her eyebrows; she couldn't remember.
"Maybe I'm wrong. What high school did you go to? Was it Hyundai?"
"Yes." She exhaled loudly, staring in surprise. "Wait, you're Jooheoney?"
