CHAPTER 4

Liz shortly became my best friend. We did EVERYTHING together. She even became friends with Frankie (which, for the record, did not surprise me.)! Aaron was my only true friend. Of course, I had Lexi, but she had been acting weird. I thought she was avoiding me. However, I had other things to worry about. Tonight was the show's opening night. Also, to add to the nerves I already had, there was a snowstorm coming.

Before I knew it Liz was banging on the door.

"ARIANA COME ON WE GOT TO GET OUT OF HERE!"

"Okay okay! I'm going!"

Mom had to stay home with Frankie because he had a bad case of the flu. She hailed Liz and I a cab. We rushed downstairs and out the door. The wind was already picking up. The driver unlocked the door and let us in. The cab, believe it or not, smelled NICE. For a second we thought all cabs were not the same, until we saw a bottle of Febreeze.

The show went well, although everyone seemed tense. The turn out wasn't the biggest but there were still a lot of people. For the opening night of a new production on Broadway, it was FANTASTIC. But then again, too small for Broadway. If the show wasn't a smash then it would be taken off Broadway. We could always go to off-Broadway but it wasn't the same. I started getting worried. People were still filing out of the theater. I tried to remember which seats were taken. Only a quarter of the theater had been filled. To add to my preexisting jitters, I heard a noise that sounded like lights burning out. Sure enough, the theater went black.
