The news stations of the world were filled with chatter about the newly created Starcorp Defense Company and its already many contributions to society. "Manhatten Hydro will open its doors tomorrow and its all thanks to the SDC's research division" and "the Y-2301 orbital hotel being constructed, need workers". Ebony watched from her seat as many news outlets played at once on her television screen, blissfully unaware of her brother slowly coming up behind her. "Wah!" She jumped out of the blue leather couch she was sitting in "Taylor... why are you out here?!" Taylor replied with a sleepy tone "because I was trying to sleep but you have the TV so darn loud". Ebony looked at the time and sure enough it was late, almost 11PM by the looks of the clock on the wall. She grabbed the remote and turned it down as she sat back on the couch. "sorry" she said apologetically and kept watching from the comfort of her seat as Taylor went off back upstairs to his bedroom. Ebony enjoyed the Starcorp Defense Company for many reasons, one of them being free and modular housing and another being the underground geothermal power stations that now power most of the worlds major cities. The part she liked the most though was that it did things for the peoples benefit and not for their wallets. It meant that even though the company was only about 4 years old, it took the world by storm in terms of speed and efficiency.

When Ebony woke up, her ears were assaulted with the sounds and voices of the TV again. Instead of turning it off, she rolled over to attempt to avoid the barrage of sound but fell off the couch and onto the floor. She opened and rubbed her eyes as she walked over to the bathroom to get washed up and ready for her schooling. After she was done brushing her teeth and making sure her uniform was straight enough, she went to the landing platform outside and waited for the bus.
