Chapter 8 | Training
Thinking about what I could do, my eyes wander toward my bathroom.
Without a second thought, I got up, grabs some pajamas, face wash, then stroll into the bathroom. Their was the sink to left of me, the shower to the right of me, and at the end of the room was the tub. Placing my stuff on the counter. I took of my clothes, start the shower, and got in.
After getting the washcloth covered in soap, I begin to wash myself. "I wonder what I'll do while I'm stuck here." I move the washcloth to my back, I then felt the large scar that went across my back. "Almost forgot about that." My other hand gently traces the scar. I never knew where it came from, I had it since I was born. I ignore it for now and continue to wash myself off.
.....
I sat on my bed, looking outside of the window while thinking of my escape. Wearing my pajamas, which were pink and purple with bats over them.
I then felt tired. "I'll just head to bed. It's late anyways." I cover myself in the blakents as I fell asleep.
.....
.....
As I enter my math classroom. I spot Leon, who was sitting with no one at the moment. A smile appears on my face as I jog toward him. Once Leon saw me, he waves with a smile. "Hey Marissa! Nice to see you again." Leon pulls out the chair as I sit down, placing my backpack next to me.
"Hey Leon. What happened at the party when I lost conscious?"
Leon whispers to me. "It was a measly Phantom, but I took care of it." He explains. "Also, do you think you can make it to training?" I shake my head.
"Sadly, no. My parents caught me-"
"Mmhm... talking in my class I see." The math teacher, Ms. Taylor, was looking at me from her desk. Everyone was quiet as they view at me or the teacher. I try to ignore the stares and look only at the teacher. She adjusts her glasses. "Don't do it again."
"I won't." I exhale a breath. Leon pats my back and smiles for comfort. It lift up some embarrassment.
The teacher begins her lesson. Leon whispers to me. "What were you going to say?"
"My parents found out that I drunk alcohol. So I'm stuck in my room for a week, along with my phone taken."
The teenager frowns before his eyes widen with a smile. "I have a idea." I lean in closer. "How about we practice at lunch? We can head to the school rooftop." I smile and give a thumbs up.
.....
.....
"What do you mean your busy?" Ana ask. We both stood in the cafeteria with our lunches in hand.
"I have some work to do, I'm really sorry Ana." I apologize.
Ana let's out a breath. "It's fine. I am a bit clingy anyways."
"Thanks Ana. See ya." I saunter my way to the roof, passing by students.
As I walk to the next stairs, I look outside the window. "This is where those people died because of me," I held onto the tray tighter. My breathing slowed down, the hallway was quiet. "Well, I won't let it happen again. That's what trainings for." A side of my lip curls into a smile.
Ambling up the last step of stairs, I open the door to the roof. My eyes wander around the place. No one was there. I felt a bit distrubed. Instinctively, I turn around and summon my shield. Dropping my food to the ground. Leon hit the weapon hard as he slides off. I blink before coming back to my senses.
"To be honest, that kind of hurt." The shield disappears. Leon picked himself up before brushing his clothes off.
"Why did you do that!?"
"I was testing you. It seems you have fast instincts. That's great!" He compliments.
I took a deep breath. "Thanks." I grab my food and place it on the round table. I then look back at Leon with a confident smile. "Let's start training."
....
Twenty minutes past by with training. I fell to the ground, as Leon and I breath heavily. Looking at the clock, their was ten minuets left. My partner held out his hand. "Let's take a break. You did well." I stood up with his help.
"Please... can we do a bit more?" Leon's eyebrows raises.
"Fine, but only one more trick." Leon takes a deep breath and looks at me. "I want you to touch me."
I raise a eyebrow. "You mean... on your body?"
"Just anywhere. It's fine." He reassures.
Leon and I got in ready positions. Leon held his hands in front of him. I run toward him with my hands out, I then jump toward him. But he swiftly moves out of the way, causing me to fall to the ground.
"Ouch..." I stood my head up and look back at Leon. "What move was that?" I stood up and brush myself off once again.
He jogs toward me. "It's a move I picked up. So I'm not sure of the name." He stands in front of me. Both of his feet were opposite sides of my foot. Pointing the tip of his right foot toward his left foot. "The key is how I move my feet. I place my weight on my right foot, so it leaves my left foot free. So I can pivot like this." He pivots his foot around. In result, he stood next to me with himself out of the way.
"Your using your footing to get to the other side of your opponent. Sound easy enough?"
I nod. Looking down at my feet. "So, I have to make my feet point toward each other..." As I did so, my legs shove toward each other. My legs shiver due to being unbalance. With not much strength left to keep me up, I fell to the ground again.
"This is a lot harder then it looks." I stood up again. Leon chuckles.
"No one said it'll be easy. Come on, let's eat. You did great."
I smiled. "Thanks."
"You're welcome." I saunter to the table and begin eating the food. Leon sits next to me and consumes his food as well.

Wednesday....
A week passed, my phone was in my pants. Strolling down the hallway. I brush off my blue shirt from dust. Many dissimilar teenagers amble down the hallway. I then heard swift footsteps toward my direction, making me turn to the cause of it. Unexpected, there was a hand on my shoulder. "I need your help." Leon ask seriously.
I blink. "Huh?"
