Chapter 3 | First Day of School

I sat next to the sleeping Ana. I got up and grabbed a blue rag cloth. Left it in cold water for awhile and placed it on her head. She looked more calm.

Ana'a breathing calmed down, she looked much better. But it hurt to see her like this. Before I knew it, I heard a grunt. I look over at her.

"Where... what happend?" Ana asked, holding onto the cloth on her head. She didn't get up, the girl was looking up at the ceiling.

A smile grew on my face. "Ana! Your ok!!" Ana looked surprised. But also happy.

"Where's Liam?" I thought about it for awhile. A idea came to mind.

"He's probably safe at home."

I grabbed my phone from a nearby table. "I should call Liam, and tell him where you are." I started pressing buttons on my pink phone.

Not after too long. I heard a knock on the door. I standed up, walked down stairs and opened the door. "Hey Marissa. You said my daughter is here?"

"Yes, upstairs in my bed." Liam started walking upstairs. I shut the door and followed.

They were both overjoyed to see each other. They hugged and such, it made me feel a lot better to see them together and delighted. After awhile, they had to leave to get ready to sleep. I was ready to hit the sack!

Immediately once they left, I ran to my bedroom and jumped on the fluffy cloud. Before going to sleep, I looked at my hands.

Powers. I have powers. I thought. Still amazed that I have such a magnificent gift.

I must have used some magic on Ana for her to wake up again. I shook myself from my deep thinking.

"Go. To. Sleep." And just like that, I fell asleep.

~~~
My alarm, that was on my phone, went off. What times was it? I grabbed my phone and looked at the time, my blue eyes widen.
"Crap! It's 10:03!" I tried to get up, but got tangled in the blakents. Causing me to fall on the ground. I groaned loudly as I standed back up, rushing to get ready.
"It's only the first day of school and I'm already making a bad reputation for myself!" I cried. Running as fast as I could. Until I saw a black cat. I awwed at it, then quickly turned back around to sprint to school.
I whipped the door open to my first class. Panting heavily. "I'm here!" I announced, all the students looked at me. Including the teacher.
The teacher looked at the paper in her hands. "Are you Marissa?" I nodded as I slowly walked in. All eyes were on me!
I know when fighting that monster, people were watching. But they don't know my identity. Coming in class like this with all eyes on me. I felt naked, showing my true skin. Or you could call it, the girl under the mask.
I saw one familiar face, Ana! We had the same class together. I ran to her to see there was a seat in between her and some other random girl. I sat their, trying to be as quiet as I could.
"Alright, Marissa. Would you like to tell us about yourself?" The teacher said. I jumped in fear, I wasn't prepared for this! I slowly standed back up. My hands trembled, as much as my legs. "H-hi, I'm Marissa. I-I" I choked on my words, everyone looked at me. I was internally screaming. I yelled the first thing that came to mind. "I-I live in jailhouse!" Everyone jumped, including Ana.
Students started to whisper. I tried to explain to them. "I mean coffeehouse! I work in a coffeehouse!!" But people didn't give in. People just listen to what they want to hear. I quickly sat myself down, covering my face in my arms.
Ana gently rubbed my back. The girl sitting next to me moved away. Today is going to be a horrible day. I thought.
In the middle of class, I could feel kids throwing paperballs at me. It was disturbing me. A lot. I briskly raised my hand. "Can I go to the bathroom?" She nodded and continue her lesson.
I quickly jogged out the room. I felt much better, I then looked around, the place was humongous. I walked around the place, looking for the bathroom. But I couldn't find it. I sat on a nearby chair, sighed. "Where is the bathroom. I know I only left because of those students, but I don't want it to seem like I'm ditching." I whispered to myself.
"If only there was magic for this sort of thing." I looked down at the ground, walking around. I wasn't looking where I was going, and accidentally bumped into someone. I fell to the ground.
I rubbed my head. "Ouch, that's going to hurt." I whispered. I looked up to see a gang of people hovering over me. Giving me scary expressions. I crawled away, slowly trying to stand up. "Sorry, I'll be on my way." They stopped me from going anywhere.
"You think your so tough huh?" One of the men giggled. "You must really want a beating."
I was confused for a moment. "Who are you?" I asked. Trying to change the subject, there was no one else in the hallway.
"Where have you been living under, a rock? We're the Bloody Yakuza gang. Your very unlucky to run into us." They started walking toward me closer. I grew horrified. Until I heard someone call us out.
"Hey, leave the poor girl alone!" The teacher yelled. Her orange ponytail was bouncing in the air side to side.
I am happy that she is saving me. But does she really have to call me poor? I thought.
The gang ran away as they saw the teacher. "Y-you just got lucky!" One of the boys yelled. The teacher standed next to me, helping me up.
"Are you alright?" The lady asked. I standed up, I was shorter then her! My hopes and dreams have been crushed. But at least my face isn't crushed.
"I'm fine, I'm just surprised that someone came to help." Especially a teacher. We shook hands like professionals. I felt like a actual adult.
"I'm always here if you need some help. You can call me by my first name, Katie." Looking very approachable. Wearing a long skirt down to her ankles, white buttoned shirt with a dark blue jacket, including long sleeves. Her bright orange eyes looked deep into my blue ones.
I looked at a nearby clock. "I have to go back to class. Let's chat later!" I started jogging away, knowing I can't run in the halls.
Ugh, such a stupid rule.
Katie watches me as I jogged away. She smiled. "Such a sweet student."
Leon watches from a corner. His arms crossed and eyes narrow. Resting his back on the wall. He picked himself up from the wall and started walking the other way. He arms dangled beside him. "That teacher, she's kind." He took a deep breath, closing his eyes. Then opened them again, this time smiling. "I'll be her friend."
