Happy (late) Thanksgiving!

What are you thankful for?

Friday.

When ambling to school, my body felt fragile. If someone touched me, I felt like I would break into pieces. My hair was a little static, as I had bags under my eyes.

I arrived in front of the school. But before strolling to the door, the gang of ruffians stood in the way. I didn't want any unwanted attention, so I sneak around back.

Scanning the area, a breath escapes my mouth. Before I knew it, I bumped into a tall figure. But regained balance before falling over. Scanning the person, she had green eyes, long blonde ponytail, and a warm beige skin color. She examines me before speaking. "Need of assistance?"

I shake my head. "I'm okay. Thanks for asking." I scurry past her and enter the back door. Scanning the scene, I noticed I was in the gym. But people were putting tables with food around the gym and ribbons hanging on the walls.

"Hey! Your not supposed to be in here!" A counselor commands. I almost jumped out of my skin. I then felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Sorry, we were looking for the bathroom and ended up coming here. We'll leave now." He pushes me out of the gym and into the hallway. I examine the person. Black hair, red eyes, white shirt and blue jeans.

"Hasi?"

"The one and only." He smiles. "Have you heard of the Neon dance party?" I shake my head. A big smile grew on his face. "It's next Monday, after school. Basically a dance where we wear a neon colored shirt." He inspects my clothes. "Speaking of shirts, you should probably change clothes so you don't look ragged."

I scratch my head, letting out a nervous chuckle. "I was in a little rush, trying to run away from my Mom's healthy drinks." Hasi laughs. He then pulls out a bag with fancy, yet school appropriate, clothes in them. "My- Dad always make me bring some clothes. Here, you can borrow some." I grab the bags and enter the nearby girl bathroom.

Strolling out, I wore pants of rich fabric, and a uniform polo. My breathing became rapid as I noticed the attire. "Are you rich or something!?"

"You could say that."

I look over at the clock. "Nine-o-five." I comment, then turn to Hasi. "We should head to class." Hasi nods as we begin to stroll to class.

......

......

I enter history class with Hasi. Chattering anything that came to mind. There was a three teenagers sitting at the opposite side of the class, watching us as we strolled in. One of them, with blond undercut, glances back at his friends. "Look at her clothes." He whispers. "She must be a spoiled brat, she even has dyed hair."

The other guy lifts his head. The three suddenly got up and tramps toward the door. While doing so, two of them hit our shoulder. While I was pushed back some, Hasi was like stone as he was unaffected by it. The guy glares at him as they exit the classroom.

I look at him. "That was amazing."

Hasi gave a big smile. "Working out helps. Hey, I gotta head to the bathroom. Save me a spot, alright?" I nod as Hasi saunters out of the room.

.....

Hasi enters the male bathroom, spotting Leon glaring at a stall. The black-haired boy waves at him, Leon holds up a finger and points to the stall in front of him. Voices could be heard. "You saw that pink blue haired girl right? She had some rich clothes!" One exaggerates.

Hasi taps Leon's shoulder, whispering in his ear. "What group?"

"Bloody Yakuza." Hasi nods.

"She must be a beggar, or a spoiled brat."

"Cheap-ass loser." Hasi's fist grew tight that his knuckles became red. Leon felt his heart race increase while his face felt boiling.  A scary aura appears around them.

"Let's beat her up after school! She's always alone when walking home."

"Lol."

.....

.....

The sky was filled with colors of blue, orange, and yellow. I held my dark blue and black backpack. "Hey, Marissa!" I heard a voice shout. Turning my head, Leon and Hasi sprint to my side.

Examining the two, I noticed some blood on their hand. "What's up with you two's hand?" Leon hid his behind his back. Hasi covers his with his long sleeved shirt.

"Nothing. Just some things that needed to be done." Leon assures.

"We were thinking about strolling home with you." Hasi smiles. "Is that okay?" I nod, my muscles relaxing.

For the whole time, the three of us had a joyful conversation. It felt like hours when it was only a couple minutes. It was then I knew, I've made wondrous friends.

.....

.....

.....

Saturday.

I stood in front of the usual cafe I go to. Realizing that there was a big star with words saying, 'Starlight Deluxe'. It must be their cafe name. I thought while entering the place.

The bell made a little chime. I saunter to the counter with Liam greeting me with friendly smile. "Hi Marissa! Want the usual?"

"You know me too well." He chuckles. Ana strolls toward him before turning her attention to me. I gave a warm smile. "Hi Ann."

She waves, a small smile crawling on her face. "Hi Mari." Liam pats Ana's back.

"Ana, can you get Marissa's usual order?" She nods as she ambles to the back. Once she was gone, Liam looks at me with cocked a eyebrows. "What's wrong with Anna?" He whispers.

I blink. "How do you know something's wrong with her?"

"I'm her father. I know my daughter from the heart."

I exhale a breath, pulling a string of hair behind my ear. "We got in a argument. Of course we made up." Liam nods.

"I'll be there to comfort her. I'll tell you when she's feeling a lot better." I couldn't help but smile.

I choose a seat to sit. I spotted a big skinny brown chair near the window, where light was being poured from.

Not too long after, Ana came sauntering toward me with a chocolate cupcake and a cup of extra whip, chocolate drizzle, fudge, and lots of other cuisines. "I apologize for what happened the other day." She places them on the table. "I hope you'll forgive me. For the things I've done." I grin extensively, looking at the chocolate cupcake.

I clear my throat, gathering my humanity while looking up at my friend. "I already have." Ana blinks in surprise. "We all make mistakes. It's part of being human." Ana sucks in a breath, her face glowed up by my response.

"Right!" Ana exclaims. She bounces her way behind the counter and ask Liam for the next orders.

The bell chimes. When looking at the person strolling in, my eyes widen. It was the same person who was I bumped into. Long blonde ponytail, deep green eyes which told many stories, and warm beige skin color. Her aroma gave off the feeling she was from a different universe.

Liam smiles at her. "Hey Emerald! It's great to have you back." She shared a gentle smile.

"It's glad to be back." My chin drops to the table, while placing a piece of chocolate cupcake in my mouth. Emerald scrutinized the menu on the wall. "I'll have the Dreamy Espressino."

Liam nods, pressing buttons on the register. "Sounds good. It'll come right up!" Emerald nods, then immediately turns at me.

Instantly I looked away, realizing I've been staring for longer then needed. My ears could hear her high heels approaching me. "Your the same girl I ran into, correct?" I grew a little nervous as I turned to her, nodding. She points to the seat in front of her. "May I sit here?" I nod.

The woman then leans in and places her hands under her chin. Causing a bit of cleavage. "I'm Emerald. What's your name?"

I was a little reluctant by giving my name to a stranger, but Liam seemed to know her. And I'm always able to protect myself by magic. I rotate my body toward her. "Marissa. Marissa Dawn."

"A very bodacious name. Additionally your appearance." I shift glances around the room. She had a gentle smile, yet she still felt intimidating. Emerald let's out a chuckle. "Apologizes for my teasing. I'll get straight to the point." Her hand digs inside her burgundy shirt. I always thought it was odd girls hold things in their bras. The lady pulls out a business card and hands it to me.

I grab the card before examining it. At the bottom, it had Emerald's phone number, her full name, and address. Looking at the top, it said, 'training.' The middle had a picture of a big yellow star. "I want to help you train, Miss Dawn." My pupils enlarged.

Ana saunters to us and places a petite cup of coffee, before strolling back to the counter for the next order. There was a whip cream shaped as a heart. The smell wafts toward Emerald's nose. Emerald holds the handle with one hand, sticking out her pinkie and sipping the drink. "Ah, refreshing." The lady gave me a amiable expression. She places down the cup. "I hope to see you soon, Miss Dawn." She stands up and sashays out of the coffee house. I gaze at her as she walks out.

Looking back at the empty seat in front of me, there was already money to pay for everything we both ordered. Additionally, the coffee was gone. I was left in awe. Examining the card she handed me. "Did I just run into a goddess?"

.....

.....

I spin in my swivel chair, staring at the business card. She seemed to have her life together. What if it's a trap? I thought. I then heard my door opening, I knew who it was by the voice.

"Mari, will you come to the water garden with me?" I rotate my chair to her. She had a smile and straight posture. She was radiating of joy.

I'm a little busy. But I can't just said no. She's a monster when angry. I stood up with a smile. "Sure! What time is it?" Lillian pulls out her phone at looks at it.

"Six-forty pm." I approach her. Lillian felt like a little child I was babysitting. She jogs downstairs and to the door. Khaki peaks his head out of his door.

Father gave a soft smile. "Where are you two going?"

"To the water gardens!" Lillian grabs my hand, which almost made me fall over. "Come on! Let's go!" Lillian whips the door open as she dashed down the sidewalk. I was trying to catch up.

.....

Entering the scene; there was a pool at the bottom to the right, the slanted walls covered in water. There was squares as steps to the bottom. I look over at my mother, she was bouncy with every step.

We continue to saunter pass it, there was trees with lights on the ground. Further ahead, was a big space where kids were playing around. I begin drifting into deep thought. "That reminds me of you, when you were just a little girl." She gazes at me. I was too busy thinking to realize what she said. "Marissa?"

I snap back to reality. "What? Uh, yeah." I answer quickly. Scratching my the back of my head. Lillian scans the scene to get rid of the embarrassment.

"How about we jog to the top of that?" She points to the top of steps, which could be portrayed as a mountain made of many steps.

"Sure. It doesn't seem too hard." And it wasn't. With ease, we both got to the top. Standing at the top made me feel like a super hero. I sat on the edge while looking down at the kids, smiling. I then zoned out again, worries and What Ifs shrouds my thoughts. Lillian notices and sits next to me. The air was quiet. The kids playing and the water was the only thing making noise.

Lillian places her hand on her lap. "Marissa," I whip my eyes, looking up at her.

"Yes mother?"

"Do you really want to be here? Am I a bother?" She looks down at me.

My eyes widen, I shake my heads. "Not at all! I've just been a little busy about some things. But I'm sure I'll make time for you." I rub my neck. Whispering; "if I can." Lillian stood up, I contemplate her.

"I... I have to use the restroom." She runs off the other direction. More swiftly then I expected.

"Lillian!" I shout, standing up. "Crap. I didn't mean to hurt her." I dash after her, dodging the trees that were on the large steps.

.....

.....

Ravana was sitting in a chair with a book in hand. Reading the words thoughtfully. There was a knock at the door. "Come in." The male enters. His long blue hair was tied up in his usual ponytail.

"There's another victim, Raven."

Ravana glares at him. "I told you not to call me that, Okuma." She stands up and places the book back on the bookshelf. "It's your turn to send the slime."

Okuma nods. "Sorry 'bout that. I'll get to it." The door shuts.

Ravana exhales a breath, scanning the books. "Idiot."

Okuma enters the room with a chair in the middle, and a big mirror. He shuts the door behind him and sits on the chair. He waves his hand in a gauche manner, gathering his fatalistic memories as purple slime appears over his hand. "Head to the next victim, please." The slime falls to the ground and crawls to the next victim.

.....

.....

Lillian sat at the pool. The large body of water was very shallow, the sun was setting, making the water seem like a glowing green color. Slime crawls behind Lillian and on her back. Spreading over her physique.

She stands up, letting out a loud laugh. Causing a big blast of wind, blowing everything around her. The Phantom examines her humanoid body. "This is great!" She shouts.

I sprint to the bars, looking down at the Phantom. My eyes widen. "That's Mother." I whisper. Promptly she shot me a glare with a grin. I quickly duck down, hiding behind the small stone wall. I dig through my pockets and pull out my phone. "Should I call Leon?"  The ground shakes as the Phantom lands in front of me.

My back was on the wall. "Shit." She aims a punch to my face , I swiftly spring out of the way. The wall then had a dent on it. When I started running, my upper half was bent over as I was dashing away. Slowly, I was regaining my balance. "Don't you want to play!?" She shouts. Turning my head, slime was coming straight for me.

"I'm good!" I shout. I briskly turn around and pull out my shield, blocking me from getting hit by the slime.

"It seems you can fight! Come on, let's play a game!!" My phone was on the ground. I quickly grabbed it as the shield disappears. My breath was escalating every second, charging down the pathway with stairs.

Once I made it to the top, people were still here. I used my hands as I microphone. "Ruuunnn!!!" I yelled. Turning my head, the Phantom became enormous. Slime dripping off her arms. People dash away from the area. As the Phantom shoots slime at me, I summon my shield. But it wasn't enough strength, I was pushed off the edge and falling toward the ground. The shield and phone fell from my hands.

My body begins shaking as I stared at the in-coming ground. I raise my arms in front of my face as my legs near my stomach. When, surprisingly, I couldn't feel the wind anymore. Slowly my eyes open. I was a inch away from hitting the ground. Somehow, my body turns around and gently hits the floor.

My phone and shield were unharmed, as well as myself. Looking up the Phantom was coming straight at me. I survey her for a opportunity. Then spot the orb inside her body. Despite that my legs were shaking; I grabbed my shield, stood up, and threw the weapon straight through her body. Luckily, it hits the orb with enough strength. Breaking it into multiple pieces. I let out a breath as the slime disconnect from each other, which left my mother falling by herself. I move myself, holding out my arms as she lands in them. I gently places Lillian to the ground as I grasp the handle of the shield.

The weapon disappears as my mother wakes up. "Marissa?" She whips her eyes as her upper half stands. "Are we still in the water garden?" She analyze the scene. I nod, helping her up.

"Yeah. You were just a little cold and fell asleep." I stroll to my phone and picked it up, placing it in my pocket. "Let's head home, okay?" She nods with a small smile.

.....

.....

I was laying on my bed, trying to warm my body. Checking the time, it was nine pm. I was texting Leon about Emerald and the card.

"She seems to be nice. But please be caution. If she hurts you, tell me." Leon texts.

I text back. "Don't worry, I'll explain everything if I decide to go." Leon sent back a smile face. I smile by his response. I think I'll go.

I grabbed a black shirt with a white heart, blue jacket, black and white tennis shoes, and jeans. I saunter down stairs and to the door. "I'm heading out." I didn't hear a response, until Khaki said something.

"Be safe." He warned.

"I will!" I exit the house and jog to the address. Clinging into my jacket the whole time. I place the hoodie over my head.

I knock on the door. Whispering; "I hope they don't mind me being a little late."

Not after too long, the door opens. Instead of seeing a beautiful goddess, there stood a blooming flower. A girl that seemed to be a teenager. She had messy short blonde hair, sharp green eyes, burgundy jacket, red crop top, and dark pink shorts. "Are you Madam Marissa?"

I grew surprised. "I'm not married, madam isn't necessary! Miss Dawn or Marissa is fine." She nods with a smile.

"Marissa, I'm Aven. Are you looking for my older sister Emerald?" Aven questions.

I nod. "Yeah. It's about training." Aven blinks.

"Oohh, so your the one. Please, come in." I amble in the house, looking down at the ground. I saw their shoes nexts to the doorway. I took mine off and place them next to there's.

"It seems you came." I pull off my hoodie and turn around. Emerald was sitting in their dinning room. Aven went into the kitchen. Scanning the place, it was modern and clean. I didn't expect anything less from the lady looking like a goddess. I saunter to the table and sit across from her. "So, why did you come?"

"W-Well.... I was curious of how you know my secret, and extra training would help. Also, why would you help me?"

Emerald had a sweet smirk. "I know you'll help many people in the future. You just need a extra push."

"Okay, that's one question answered." I said. "How do you know I have powers?"

She points to my chest, where my necklace was hanging. "Your necklace is radiating powerful energy that's waiting to be exposed. It's also, quite a  remarkable shape." She compliments. Aven strolls to me and hands me a chocolate chip cookie.

"Oh, thank you." She nods and sits in a chair between us.

"Plus, my little sister here saw you in the future." I lean in, interest in what she was going to say. "She has the power Precognition. Able to see in the future." The lady explains. "We want to help you achieve to your fullest."

I exhale a breath. They've been nothing but nice to me so far, that's a relief.

"Speaking of powers," Emerald adds. "Your battle skills needs some serious help." My eyes widen.

"Your the one-"

"Who saved you from dying, correct." The little sister chuckles.

Aven sticks out a hand. "So, do you want to train with her?"

"Well, I do need some help with training. I'll try it out." The two girls grin at each other. I stood up. "I'll be leaving now. My parents will get scared if I stay too long, and I don't want that." Aven and I strolled to the door as Aven holds it open for me.

"Come here tomorrow at twelve," she shot me a hard glare. "Sharp." I felt shivers around my body.

"See ya!" I saunter out of the house, heading back home. Aven regards her older sister, shutting the door behind her.

"First one." She smiles, sitting back on their chair. "Lets get the generation of Starchildren started."
