After joining the Hand of Repose, Roland was assigned to be the guardian of Bridgette Westfall, lady of Theoton. However, after she had been abducted by the Shadowhearts, he has been extremely determined to rescue her, calling it his purpose as her faithful warrior. 

Brash and to the point, Roland exchanges empathy for logical thinking. He has a hard time trusting anyone, thanks to his backstory, but always repays debts that he owes. Underneath his cold exterior lies a softened heart that only some have reached.
