Chapter Twelve
The Imperial battalion took to celebrating their victory against the Jedi. But the celebrations were soon cut short by Darth Aolroth.
Darth Aolroth: Men! Darth Jahl shall arrive soon. I want you to search the outpost for anything that will be of use. I want nothing left behind for the Jedi to collect!
The Captain of the battalion stepped up to the Sith.
Imperial Captain: But we've taken the outpost! And without suffering a single casualty! What more could Jahl want from us?!
Darth Aolroth: Mind your tongue captain! Our target wasn't here. While this outpost is ours, we have failed our objectives! Now I say again, search this outpost and leave nothing for the Republic! I want this outpost cleared at once!
As his orders were made clear, the soldiers wasted no time in beginning their search for any kind of intelligence. Darth Aolroth joined the search as he checked in the fallen Jedi's quarters. He then hears a sound coming from hatch nearly hidden from view. The Sith attempts to open it with no avail. He then uses the Force to break open the door and finds a Mirialan woman hiding there.
Darth Aolroth: Who are you?
The woman says nothing as she attempts to run away. Darth Aolroth quickly catches her and restrains her.
Darth Aolroth: It's okay! I'm not going to hurt you!
Despite the reassurance, woman continues to fight back against the Sith to no avail. Imperial soldiers then came after hearing the commotion and helps the Sith apprentice restrain the woman.
Imperial Soldier: Look at this boys! A big bad Sith can't handle some lowlife alien bitch?
Darth Aolroth did not take kindly to the insults being said by the Imperial soldiers, but restrained himself from killing the soldier on the spot.
Darth Aolroth: Keep her restrained! I don't want her harmed in any way!
Imperial Soldier: Yes my lord!
As the Imperial soldiers took the woman away, Darth Aolroth checked the hiding spot the girl was in and found a datapad. He took it and left the room. Darth Aolroth made his way to the center of the outpost and found Darth Jahl waiting for him.
Darth Jahl: Apprentice.
Darth Aolroth: Master.
Darth Jahl: Commander Quinn has informed me of what has transpired.
Darth Aolroth: The outpost was nearly abandoned. There was nothing we could've done Master.
The Dark Lord was displeased by the outcome.
Darth Jahl: This is.... unfortunate. Have you found anything of interest?
Darth Aolroth: Yes. I found this datapad in a hiding spot. Besides that, there was nothing else of any interest, my master.
Darth Aolroth gave the datapad to his master. The Sith Lord looked at the datapad with great interest.
Darth Jahl: This might give us insight on the whereabouts of Karr and the holocron. Commander Quinn should be interested to see this. Come apprentice. We are done here.
What about the girl?
Darth Jahl looked to the Mirialan woman restrained by the Imperial soldiers and then looked to his apprentice.
Darth Jahl: Keep her. Do with her as you wish. She is my gift to you.
Darth Aolroth gazed at the woman as she gazed back at him with hateful eyes. Darth Jahl and Darth Aolroth left for their Dreadnought and prepare their next course of action. As they walked to the shuttle, the two Sith passed by a wounded Republic soldier.
Republic Soldier: P....please.......h....h...help.....m...m..me!
Seeing the wounded Republic soldier helpless and pleading for mercy pleased the Imperial soldiers nearby.
Imperial Soldier: Look at this Republic dog beg!
Imperial Sgt: Where's your Republic now?
The Mirialan woman looked at the soldiers with disdain as they continued to mock the wounded Republic soldier. Seeing the abuse to the wounded Republic soldier disgusted the Sith Apprentice as he turned to his master.
Darth Aolroth: Master..... should I....
Darth Jahl: Do as you wish my apprentice.
Darth Aolroth walked to the wounded Republic soldier and cut him down with his lightsaber, silencing all the jeers of the Imperial troopers. The woman watched with eagle like eyes as the Sith killed the trooper. She couldn't tell if what he did was an act of brutality or an act of mercy. If the Sith left the trooper to the mercy of the Imperials, there was no doubt that he would've suffered at the hands of the Imperials based on their jeers. Perhaps there's more to this Sith than just the brutal monster that she believed at first glance.
