Narrator: Victory in the outer rim. Following the successful counter attack at Ryloth the separatist forces gain a new ally. However now desperate to keep up the momentum Count Dooku deploys Avona and her army to defend a new ally in Umbara.

(Umbaran Capital).

Avona walked through the halls of the dimly lit capital building of Umbara the home of its ruling council.

The Umbarans were a very secretive people and therefore there wasn't much known about them however according to Separatist Intelligence they had left the republic because of the murder of their beloved Senator Dechi.

The republics refusal to give a harsher punishment to the murderer had been the cause of Umbaras Secession.

The murderer almost killed Senator Farr but due to him being in a conference with High command that day he had been spared.

The two umbaran guards at the entrance of the chamber saw Avona approaching and snapped to a salute when she approached.

"At ease Gentleman." Avoan said returning the salute.

"Of course mam but may we say though it is an honor meeting the Bane of the republic in person." One of them replied admiration in his voice.

Avona simply smiled and shock her head. "I'm just an ordinary citizen fighting to defend what I love and in that respect we are both the same." She says patting the man's shoulder before entering the council chambers.

"Ah Field Marshal Avona a pleasure to meet you." A councilman says gesturing for a chair for Avona.

"The pleasures mine Councilman Zucara." Avona replied politely taking her seat.

"Let us get down to business." Another council member says raising his voice.

"We know the republic will not ignore our secession and will be launching an invasion any day now.

We must be prepared the meet them."

Many nodded their heads in agreement.

"I agree Councilman Ryazan. But we need a strategy cause the meager defense fleet we have is not going to hold the republic off for long."

This caused much argument amongst the council half wanted to be aggressive but the others wanted to be defensive.

Annoyed by their Bickering Avona grabbed her pistol and shot twice at the roof.

"Would you guys calm down. Here's my suggestion.

If you guys consolidate your main assets on defending your capital we can do one of my greatest strategies." Avona said catching the councils attention.

"You see while the republic will launch a massive attack at the capital city their flanks will not be as fortified.

And if I position the cream of my army here in the east I can cover that flank and I can even deploys a detachment to cover the west.

Is there any key target my men could converge on if we have an idea what the republic will most likely target we can effectively defend this planet."

One council man stood up and activated a hologram.

"There's the western city of Izana it can serve as a command base for a combined force of both your men and our militia.

To the east there is a vital air base that supplies the capital during war time and if your eastern forces can help guard it the republic would have a difficult time taking it." He said while handing the hologram to Avona.

Staring at rev hologram Avona already had her plan.

"I'll establish a series of camps and out posts around the eastern hemisphere and I'll deploy 2'000 shadow trooper, 1'500 Morelian soldiers and 45'000 battle droids to reinforce the air bases tank divisions." Avona declared.

After a few more hours of discussion the meeting was dismissed and Avona made her way back to her ship to prepare the east for an impending invasion.

(Flash back History of Umbara and Morelia).

For thousands of years the outer rim worlds of Morelia and Umbara had been staunch allies.

During the Sith wars the two had United their armies and repelled the sith 8 times before the Republic arrived to chase them off.

The people of Umbara despite their secrecy had long trusted the Morelians so a much that Umbara actually helped develop the Morelian Military technology.

It wasn't until the separatist crisis that the two assumed different stances Morelia favored the confederacy and Umbara the republic.

That didn't stop the two however from still trading with each other.

Avona strongly argued with the separatist council that she would not invade her oldest ally even if they were on opposing sides.

So when Umbara eventually left the republic they knew that an attack from the republic would be imminent and therefore requested Dooku send Morelian forces to aid them Under Avona.

Avona wasn't playing around either. She had brought the entire 450'000 strong Morelian 1st army and 4 divisions of shadow troopers with 700'000 battle droids of the 9th army.

She didn't care what the republic would throw at them the separatists would make the republic bleed for every inch of ground.

(Republic forces Umbara orbit 3 weeks later).

The space battle was short and swift a big relief to the republic forces of the rim who had been struggling against Avona's new offensives.

The republic had decided to postpone Umbaras invasion for 3 weeks due to some planning and logistical difficulties.

They had dedicated a large contingent of clones to the attack including the 212th and Kenobi and the 76th legion under Tinn with the 91st recon Corps Under Gallia along with the 67th legion under pong Krell and 501st under Skywalker.

Teh plan was for Tinn, Krell and Kenobi to Lead the main assault on the Capital while Adi Gallia dedicated where are you forces to taking Izana to the west.

Skywalker meanwhile would advance on the east.

However avona was well prepared for this battle and smiled as she watched the republic gunships approach her first Defensive obstacle.

"Air strike brigade fire when the enemy is in Range." Avona ordered.

"Roger Roger." Came the droids reply.

The clones were stunned whne not only Umbaran Anti air guns were firing on them but Rockets and Tank Cannons from Droids and their AATs.

"General there's Droid tanks guarding yeh advance ridge I can't get closer beginning landing procedures." A clone pilot reported before opening the Gunships doors.

Immediately the republic AT-RTs dropped and began firing on the droids and Umbarans clearing a path for the Gunships.

Eventually Anakin Jumped out followed by his men as they began mowing down the Umbaran and droid Defenders clearing the ridge in a lighting strike.

However unknown to them the Umbarans had informed Avona about the situation and were preparing to Counter attack.

"Sir somethings not right here." Rex says approaching Anakin.

"Why's that Rex." Anakin questions honestly.

"The Umbarans are known for their Secrecy so why are their droid forces here."

The question did puzzle Anakin.

"I don't know but my theory is there must be a separatist General they trust who's here."

Rex accepted the theory but was still uneasy.

Eventually the Umbarans counter attacked and forced the clones to Call air support.

The Y-wings did destroy the enemy forces but shortly after a gunship arrived and Krell took command leaving Skywalker to return to Coruscant.

When Krell eventually launched their Main assault on the main road the mines prevented the clones from Advancing faster.

Recon eventually revealed one of Avona's Outposts was nearby after scouting Ahead.

"Finally." Krell declared staring at the Hologram of the out post before Turning to Rex.

"Captain have all men form up immediately and prepare to storm that Outpost." He ordered firmly.

Rex wanted to protest but A sharp glare from Krell silenced him.

When the clones launched their attack they were met with something shocking.

"Morelians and droids are defending the outpost." A trooper called out firing on the defenders.

When the word Morelian was heard by Rex his blood ran cold.

He knew that they could only mean Avona herself was here and that was a serious threat.

Returning to Krell Rex expressed the worries shared by him and his men.

"Sir my men have taken the out post but according to its logs it's clear the Infamous Marshal Avona is here and I believe our best bet would be rerouting to rejoin with Kenobi and the others if we are to stand a chance against Avona's men."

Krell simply laughed. "Worry not captain I've already called special assistance to take care of that meddling Girl."

Eventually Obi wan contacted them and informed them about an enemy air base not far from their position supplying the air base and told them to take it.

However once they got closer to a gorge near the base the scouts reported something troubling.

There was 3 umbaran Tank divisions with numerous Morelian and Droid units in waiting to confront them.

Rex wanted to look for another route or call for air support but Krell overruled Homs be ordered for an all out attack through the gorge to the air base.

The attack went just as well as could be expected.

The initial attack was meet by Centipede tanks and were barely stopped.

And when they advanced deeper most of their companies came under attack from the enemy tank divisions.

To make matters worse the tanks were supported by droids and when Rex's me his men left the tree line they had no idea they were being watched.

"They're in the gorge mam." A shadow trooper reported to a hologram of Avona who smirked.

"Excellent. Then by all means lieutenant make those clones scramble like ants."

"With pleasure." The lieutenant replied before grabbing his blaster and urging his men forward.

By now Rex had deployed fives and hard case to attack to steal fighters from the air base.

"INCOMING." A clone yelled firing on the incoming shadow troopers.

Soon the clones were being picked off one by one.

Eventually Fives and Hardcase returned and managed to take out the tanks and attack the shadow troopers in the tree line.

With reinforcements arriving they managed to chase off the enemy troops with heavy losses and soon the air base was taken but it came at a heavy price.

Over 60% of the 501st attack force was wiped out.

Avona had actually ordered her men to leave the air base as she had a plan.

(Avona's base).

"Mam may I ask why you ordered the men to fall back from the base." Ashara questions.

Avona simply smiles at the Togruta Acolyte.

"It's simple Ashara. Revan has been doing a battle meditation since the campaign started and once we learned Krell was in command it led us to coming up with this plan.

Our outposts with Umbaran support will attack the air base occasionally to test the defenses of our enemy and once the opportunity presents itself we will attack and this time Krell won't escape." Avona growled.

Ashara simply smiled at her Leader.

"Certainly my Lady shall I give the order."

"It has been given." Avona replies.

Nodding her head Ashara exits the command room.

(Base command tower 3 days later).

In the command tower Krell was surrounded by The other Jedi masters in charge of the campaign.

"I've managed to Take Izana but the local resistance forces are harassing us and I'm afraid I can't spare men to aid in the capital assault." Gallia reports.

"I see what about you General Krell." Obi wan asks hopeful for good news.

"The battalion will move to aid you as best we can but there are separatist outposts near this air base and I fear if we leave the base weakened our forces will be destroyed and this strategic Location will be retaken by the enemy.

However my special assurance will be arriving soon so I won't need any back up for now."

Obi wan nodded his head in acceptance.

"Very well I'll do what I can and I'll see if we can get more reinforcements to assist in our main attack and with any luck afterwards we can turn our attention to the enemy army in the east."

One by one the other Jedi leave and krell exits the main tower.

However he's stopped by Rex and his men.

"General my men report that they were able to halt another enemy raid but they're becoming more aggressive and daring with each raid." Rex reports.

"I see well then it's a good thing my special assistance that will destroy the enemy command structure in the east has arrived." Krell says pointing to the sky.

Two gunships descend on the air base and out of one steps 9 commandos.

"Delta squad." Fives mutters in awe.

However out of the other 10 troopers step out most are wearing blue armor but they are arc troopers and one man dressed in red steps forward.

"Captain fordo of the Munilist Ten and Temporary Commander of Delta Squad reporting for duty General Krell." He salutes.

"Welcome to Umbara Captain. I'll skip the Pleasantries and just give you your mission.

You are to go east and infiltrate enemy command there and kill or capture

Field Marshal Avona."
