Alysa Stargazer
My mind wanders as I sit at the table eating breakfast with my adopted parents.
I can't stop thinking about my best friend, Luke Skywalker. I went to visit him yesterday to find his home burnt, I looked everywhere for him but I couldn't find him, so I know what must have became of him. He must have been killed in the fire. Everyone knows that his father was Anakin Skywalker, the legendary Jedi. The Empire must have found him and killed him as they do with all Force users, like they did with my parents.
They were both Jedi padawans who left the Jedi order when they fell in love so that they could get married. They were killed shortly after the purge when I was just a baby. I only survived because my mother gave me to their neighbors just before the Empire came, or at least that's how my adopted parents tell the story.
I reached over for my glass of moof milk, not really paying attention to what I was doing. I bumped it and it began to fall, I reached out to catch it, on Tatooine all liquid is precocious. I was too late to catch it, but still I reached for it as it would somehow help even though it was out of my reach. To my surprise the glass stopped midair before it could hit the floor.
Gasping, I reached down and grabbed it before it could fall. My dad saw what I had done, and he looked at me with amazement, but not with surprise.
"We knew that you had your parents gift, Alysa, but you can't use it. You have to keep it hidden or the Empire will take you like they did your parents," he warned.
I nodded, I could feel the strange power flowing within me. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"To protect you," my mum replied.
I didn't know what to do, I could feel the Force but I didn't know what to do with it or how to control it. How could I stop myself from doing it again when I didn't even know how I had done it in the first place. If only Luke was here, maybe he could help me, his father was the greatest Jedi ever to live. Luke...he was still alive, just far away, I could feel him.
I stood up. "I have to find Luke, he's the only one who can help me keep this hidden."
"Alysa, I think you should stay here where it's safe," my mum protested.
"Safe?" I questioned. "The Empire killed Luke's aunt and uncle, it's not safe here and I'm only endangering you both. If they are looking for Luke, they'll find me next and they'll kill all of us. You've protected me my whole life, it's my turn to protect you. I have to get as far away from here as I can."
My dad nodded. "She's right, if they found Skywalker they might find her as well."
Mum sighed, giving in. "Pack your things quickly, Alysa, and we'll hire the first ship that can carry you to safety."

A few hours later...
We reached the town on Tatooine, there my "parents" found some to take me away from here.
"Try to avoid the empire," my father told the man dressed in mandolorian armor.
"That's not an easy task and it'll cost you extra," the man replied.
"That's fine," dad answered, handing the man some extra money. "She's worth it."
I smiled affectionately at the man who had raised me and was the only father I'd ever known. I would miss him and mum, but I couldn't put them in danger any longer and I was nineteen, old enough to take care of myself. I wouldn't tell my "parents" this, but I have no intention of hiding. I know Luke is still alive and if the Empire is looking for him, then he is in danger and I have to help him, he's the only friend I've ever had.
"Goodbye, father," I tell him, wrapping him in a tight hug.
He smiled down at me. "Goodbye, Alysa Stargazer."
As he released me from his arms, I went over to hug my mum. "Goodbye, mum."
She kissed my forehead. "Be careful dear," she says, fretting as always.
"I will," I promised.
After several moments, she finally let me go and I began to follow the bounty hunter.
"Alysa," I heard dad call behind me. I turned to look back at him. "May The Force Be With You."
I nodded at him, and offered him a smile, then I followed the bounty hunter to his ship.
"Well if we're going to be traveling together, we might as well get to know one another," I sat in the seat next to him. "My name is Alysa Stargazer."
"Boba Fett," already I could tell that he wasn't much for words.

A few hours later, we came out of light speed, but not where I'd expected. I had asked him to take me to Alderaan, one of few well known planets that still held true to the Republic, but all I saw was a collection of meteorites and debris, and what appeared to be a small moon.
"Where are we? This doesn't look like Alderaan to me."
"But it is Alderaan," he pointed to star chart on the console in front of us. Sure enough, it showed that we were at Alderaan.
"But if this is Alderaan, what happened to it?"
"I don't know, why don't we get a little closer to investigate?"
I nodded in agreement.
He flew towards the small moon, and as we got closer I could see several TIE's flying around it.
"The Empire, they're responsible for this," I said.
He nodded but with his helmet on, I couldn't tell if he was as shocked or as disturbed as I was.
As we continued to approach the moon, I saw that the TIE's weren't flying around it, they were flying into it! This was no moon, it was some sort of space station, one that I could only assume was responsible for destroying Alderaan.
"Wait stop, that's an Empire space station," I warned him.
"I know," he turned and looked at me through his visor.
"Then why aren't you stopping?"
"Because you're avoiding the Empire, obviously they must be looking for you and if they are they may offer an award to whoever brings you in."
I couldn't believe that he could be so cold hearted, my parents paid him to keep me safe from the Empire and now he wants to turn me in for more money?
"You slime! How could you? My parents paid you to keep me safe from the Empire!" I tried not to let my emotions take control, but I couldn't hold them back.
"So they did, but now I'll be paid twice. Besides I don't want to be on the Empire's bad side, they've become one of my biggest customers."
"You're nothing but a filthy traitor!" I shouted, but he didn't seem to pay me any attention. Instead he moved the ship closer until the space station's retractor beams pulled us into the landing bay.
He grabbed my arm and roughly pulled me out of the cockpit. We stepped out onto the landing bay and I was terrified to find that it was filled with stormtroopers. I looked around nervously, but it was obvious there was no escape.
Boba Fett pulled me towards a tall man cloaked in black, a terrifying black helmet concealed his face, and even from a distance I could hear each struggled breath that he forced into his lungs.
"Lord Vader, I discovered that the two droids were bought by a farmer, Owen Lars and his wife Beru on Tatooine. But when I reached the farm, there was no sign of the droids," Boba Fett reported.
"And the couple, what did you do with them?" If it had been anyone but Darth Vader speaking, I would have sworn that he sounded almost concerned.
"I incinerated them, sir."
I felt anger well up inside of me, he was the one who killed Luke's aunt and uncle!
To my surprise I felt my anger become overwhelmed by the anger of another, Darth Vader. But there wasn't just anger, there was also a small trace of sadness.
Pushing that aside, I struggled free of the bounty hunter's grasp and struck him on the head, but I quickly realized that he didn't feel a thing through his helmet.
Two stormtroopers grabbed my arms and pulled me away from him.
"Who is this?" Darth Vader asked.
"A girl from Tatooine, she's running from the Empire so I assumed that you must be looking for her," Boba Fett replied.
"I've never seen this girl before," Vader replied.
He looked at me and it felt as if his eyes penetrated my skin to my inner thoughts and feelings. "She has the Force."
"Is there still a reward for bringing in force sensitives?" Boba Fett questioned, not caring about what the Empire did to those who had the Force.
"You will get your money bounty hunter," Darth Vader replied.
Boba Fett nodded then returned to his ship.
"Put in cell 2188 next to the Princess, she may be of some use to us in the future," Vader told the stormtroopers who were holding me back.
"Yes, Lord Vader," they said, then they drug me away.
They escorted me to the detention bay, and threw me into a cell.

I don't know how long I had been in that cell, it felt like an eternity. I could hear a commotion outside and a familiar voice, Luke's voice.
I banged on the door of my cell to get his attention. "Luke!" I called.
"Alysa?" I heard him ask on the other side of the door.
"I'm in here," I answered.
The cell door opened and I saw him standing there. I was so excited to see him that I ran to him and threw my arms around him.
"I thought you were dead," I whispered.
"I'm okay Alysa," he answered.
I looked at him and realized for the first time that he was wearing the white armor that stormtroopers wore. "Why are you dressed like a stormtrooper?"
"It's my disguise, I came here to rescue Princess Leia," he gestured to a beautiful young woman wearing a white dress. She had a large bun on either side of her head, and a very regal commanding personality.
I couldn't help but feel a little jealous since I had always had a crush on Luke.
"Let's get out of here," Luke said.
I nodded.
"Do you even have a plan?" Princess Leia asked.
"Of course," Luke replied.
