It was a normal day at Atollon, the Rebellion was not very active today because the Empire had decided to take a break from chasing them.

At the west end of the base Ahsoka Tano was sitting on a crate lost in her mind. Ahsoka didn't even know how long she was sitting there for until she heard a voice say "enjoying your evening Commander Tano". Ahsoka turned around to see Rex walking up towards her, "yes I am captain, care to join me" Ahsoka asked "I would love nothing more" Rex answered. As Rex got up on the crate and sat by Ahsoka he asked "you thinking about the war, about them", Ahsoka gave Rex no response but looked down with a few tears in her eyes. "Ya, its hard not to think about them" Rex said looking into the sunset, and as he was about to get up and leave Commander Tano alone she said "every day of my life I've thought about them, what we were, what was, what we could have been". "I miss them to" Rex said, then after a little bit Rex chuckled and asked "remember the first time we met". Ahsoka just smiled and started to laugh at the memory, "that's the one memory that I can never forget" "who's the youngling" Rex said repeating the first time Rex and Ahsoka met each other. "I'm Master Skywalker's padwan, the names Ahsoka Tano" Ahsoka repeated while laughing at the memory with Rex, "sir I thought you said you've never had a padwan" Rex continued "there's been a mix up the youngling isn't with me" Ahsoka and Rex could hear Anakin say. "Stop calling me that, your stuck with me "skyguy" Ahsoka repeated making her and Rex laugh a lot. "Ahhh I do miss the old days" Rex said as he felt Ahsoka lean her head against his shoulder "I do to captain old, but I'm gratefull for this moment we are sharing" "captain old" Rex asked in amusement as he looked at her. "Your not as young as you used to be" Ahsoka said "ya well you know snips, I'm not that old" Rex said smirking at her "you still remember the name he gave me" Ahsoka said still looking at the sunset. "I'll never forget that name" Rex answered "if he was still here what do you think he would do" Rex asked "he would inspire people to fight against the Empire, he would train a new generation of jedi, and I believe he would look after his new friends as he did with us" Ahsoka answered. "Do you want to know something commander" Rex asked "yes" Ahsoka answered "As the years went by and I started to get to know you I started to develop this towards you and..." Rex didn't even get to finish his sentence because he felt a pair of lips connected to his and he saw it was Ahsokas lips. When they separated Ahsoka said "I love you to Rex", Rex smiled and braced her in a side hug as they watched the sunset. "Its funny" Ahsoka said "what's funny snips" Rex asked "its funny that you and I fell in love and at one point your people tried to kill me" Ahsoka answered getting a "hey I wasn't a part of those men and if I do remember I ended up saving your life when that order happened" from Rex. "I know but its still funny" Ahsoka grinned, while they were sitting Rex suddenly had a memory making him give out a small evil laugh. "If you are still what I think you are then I can still kill you right now" Rex said as he reached for Ahsokas armpits, when Ahsoka realised what Rex was talking about it was too late, she felt fingers wiggle all over her armpits. When Rexes fingers made contact Ahsoka screamed and laughed at the top of her lungs "NOHOHOHOHO REHEHEHEHEX PLEAHEHEHES STOHOHOP HAHAHA" Ahsoka yelled as she thrashed and tried to get out of the clone's grip, "You are still as ticklish as when you were a padwan" Rex said amused with tickling the poor togruta. "YEHEHEHES PLEAHEHEHS STOHOHOHOP REX, HAHAHAHA" Ahsoka begged, Rex said "I haven't heard your laugh in years". Rex just continued to torture Ahsoka as she begged and begged for mercy "HAHAHAHAHA STOHOHOHOHOP HAHAHAHA IHIHIHIHI CAN'T BREATHEHEHE HAHAHAHA" Ahsoka yelled making Rex halt on his assault. When Ahsoka caught her breath Rex attacked her again making Ahsoka laugh hysterically to tears, "PLEAHEHEHES IHIHIHIHI SURRENDEHEHEHEHEHER HAHAHAHA" Ahsoka yelled again. Finally after a little more tickling Rex stopped for good then said "your laugh is still so adorable" "ihihi hate it when yohoho do that" Ahsoka giggled as she leaned into the warmth of rexes chest. Rex just looked at her beauty before saying "I love you Ahsoka" Ahsoka then said "I love you to rex", rex then took her in a hug and said "no matter were you go or what you do snips I'll always be there to protect you" "I know you will" Ahsoka said. For the rest of the day they enjoyed each others embrace always remembering this special moment and the future they hold together.
