63. "Sorry it was just a nightmare."

80. "I just want to be numb, I don't want to feel anything."

I woke up to feeling someone thrash around beside me. I set up and turned to see Echo. He was groaning and let out grunts of pain. I gently touched his shoulder and he jumped up.

"Hey, it's okay... I'm here." I said as I gently touched his face.

"Sorry it was just a nightmare." He said softly.

"Don't be sorry... sweetheart you can talk to me." I said softly.

"I... I just."

"Take your time, I'm not going anywhere." I said softly.

"It's the same nightmare, I'm stuck back there... trapped in that tank..."

I gently squeezed his hand and he let out a sigh.

"I'm stuck begging and pleading for the torture to stop. Begging to see you once more. To hold you once more in my arms." He said as he moved his hand to the side of my face.

I gently kissed it and he let out a shaky sigh.

"I just want to be numb, I don't want to feel anything." He said as tears welled up in his eyes.

I gently put my arms around him and pulled him into a hug. He latched onto me and let out a sob as his body began to shake.

"It's okay to feel, it's what makes us different from them. It makes us human." I said as I held him tightly.

"I thought I'd never see you again." He whispered.

"You should of known better, you should of known that nothing in this galaxy could stop me from finding you." I said as I pulled away and sent him a gentle smile.

"I love you." He whispered.

"I love you too, my big strong soldier." I said as I leaned up and gently kissed him.
