Sorry I haven't updated for a while now, but I wanted you all to suffer and now I shall make you suffer more. I loved your reactions cause they were either angry towards Jacob like:
Or sad that Ezra was killed like
And then I'm just here like:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sabine ran as quickly as she could to the medbay, running into people and droids as she ran across the hanger bay to get inside the rebel base. Only a few minutes ago, did a rebel soilder run up to her with a paniced and sick expression.
When asked what was wrong with him, all he replied with was, "It's your jedi friend. He and Jacob were having a duel, but Jacob cheated and shot him when we only counted to seven. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry".
Imminently, Sabine thanked him for the information and left running.
By now, Sabine's legs were burning from how fast and how long she was running, but she didn't care, she just kept pushing herself to get to the medbay as quickly as possible.
Finaly after what felt like years, Sabine could see the medbay door's up ahead, which compeled her to run faster.
Sabine finaly reached the door and ran inside into the main area. "Where's my friend!?" Sabine yelled loudly, catching everyone's attention, medics and rebels alike.
One doctor came up to her quickly, looking like he already knew what she was talking about. "Your looking for Lieutenant Bridger, am I right" the doctor asked Sabine. Once Sabine heard him, she spun around and faced him. "Where is he!?" She asked him loudly.
"Miss, come in, they brought him in a half hour ago, and he's lost alot of blood-". "Is he alive!?" Sabine yelled at him as she grabbed the doctor harshly by his collar. "Yes but you have to understand, the bullet entered just above his hip and lodged in his right arm" the doctor explained as he placed his hand on Sabine's arm to try and calm her down, but the sight of the blood on his hand only made her worry go through the roof.
"Can I see him please!?" Sabine did asked more quietly this time, but was still loud and demanding. "I'm doing everything I can, but the wound was already infected when he arrived" the doctor explained to the hysterical girl as he made her let go of him and he walked down a hallway to a room.
Once he stopped at the room door, Sabine practical ran into the room and stopped. It was her friend, lieing on a bed with blood covering his cloths where the bullet hit. "Ezra" she spoke, tears treathing to fall as she swiftly walked over to him and taking his blood covered hand.
She watched as he stirred a bit and looked up at her with hazy eye's before smiling up at her. "H-hey Sabine" he spoke out, obvious he was in pain by the way he spoke. Sabine didn't dare say a word, for she didn't know what to say.
What coukd she say in this momont? Her friend was practically dieing now! The rebel's have been very low on medical supplies for weeks now and something like this wouldn't be able to be delt with without it.
"I d-did exsactly as you said. I aimed m-my wepon in the air" Ezra told her with joy, like her advice had helped him, which was far from true. Sabine took in a breath.
"I know. You did everything just right" Sabine told him in a proud tone, like she was prazing him for what he did. Ezra smiled at bit. "E-even before we g-got to 10, I w-was aiming at the sky" Ezra tried to explain to her, but even talking was painful.
Sabine noticed this easily and she held his hand and bit tighter, trying to comfort him.. "I know. Just save your breath and stay alive" she told him, knowing that when your dieing, even speaking could leave you exhausted and that alone could lead to die.
Sabine then heard the door to the room open with a 'swoosh' sound, causing her head to turn towards it.
Standing at the doorway was a worried Kanan and Hera who looked like she was about to cry at any momont.
"Hera, Kanan" Sabine spoke, trying to explain what happened, but never had the chance when the two rushed over to them. "Is he breathing? Is he going to survive this?" Kanan asked Sabine as calmly as he could. Sabine never had to chance to awnser his question when Hera spoke.
"Who did this!? Sabine did you know about this!?" Hera demanded as she turned to the girl. It was clear Hera was angry, but towards Sabine or someone eles, they didn't know. Sabine was at a lost of words.
Hera was about to demand again, when she felt someone grasp her hand. Hera looked down at her hand only to see a blood covered one holding it, which she traced back to Ezra who had a worried expression on his face.
"I-it's not her f-fault. It w-was mine" Ezra spoke to the pilot. "I shouldn't h-have done it. I s-shouldn't have agreed to a duel" Ezra explained to the twi'lik as his own eyes began to well up with tears.
Hera's anger suddenly dissappear and was replaced with guilt, shame and saddness.
Hera turned around to Ezra and grabbed his other hand. "I know. I know it isn't Sabine's fault, and it definitely wasn't yours" Hera reasured him. Ezra smiled.
To be honest, he was kind of scared that Hera was going to be mad at him for doing something like a duel which she stated time and time again was dangerous.
She would say over and over "a duel dosen't deside who's right or who is wrong, it only leaves one man dead and the one who lives with guilt". He cursed himself for forgetting her words.
"Hera I'm so sorry for forgetting what you thought me" Ezra apologised before letting out a chuckle. "I guess I'm the one man dead then, huh" he spoke. Hera tightened her grip on his hand a bit more, hating herself for using that kind of wording.
She tried to think of something eles to talk about, something to get their minds off of what was happening.
"Remember the first time I thought you to fly the Ghost?" Hera asked the boy, catching his attention. Ezra tried to remeber that memory, but it was a bit difficult since he was quite tired.
As he thought more about it, he could remember sitting the the pilot seat for the first time and Hera in the co pilot seat as she pointed out the controls to him and explaining to him what to do. "Y-yeah. I remeber" Ezra replied. Hera sighed in relife.
"I-i remember that e-even if I made a mistake, a-and nearly crash the ship, Y-you would say I d-did good" Ezra told her, making himself laugh a bit, remembering the momonts. "You would always try to do tricks, even when I said not to" Hera added on with her own chuckle.
"Y-yeah I would always t-try and do t-that" Ezra laughed, which then turned into crying as his tears began to fall, remembering the happy momonts when he first joined this crew he now called a family, but realising that his time with them was almost up.
"I know, I know" Hera reasured him as she held his hand tighter once again.
Sabine watched from the door way as Hera reasured him with words like ''it's okay" and "everything is fine" as she clenched her hand around his. Although they word's reasured him, Sabine knew that he wasn't "Okay" and that "everything was fine". She knew there was no saving him.
Sabine watched as Hera continued to speak, and Ezra's grip loosening as the seconds passed by, to the point where it went complete limp and Hera went silent.
Sabine already knew what happened. He was gone.
Although Hera's back was facing her, Sabine could tell she was alowing the tears to fall, and Sabine could feel her own treatning to fall as well. Not wanting the two adult's to see her crying, Sabine quickly left the room, but not before hearing Hera let out a heart reanching scream.
