Kanan's pov

"Ezra are you there?" I ask through the force. Everyone else is staring at me while I do this. They could hear everything I say. At first I don't hear anything. "Ezra? Are you there?" I ask again.

All of a sudden I see Ezra and I sense him thinking he is safe. "Anything?" Zeb asks me. "I see Ezra, he is feeling calm right now." I say. "Well that's good news, is it?" Hera asks. I look deeper into the image trying to find more answers.

That's when I see that Ezra isn't safe right now, a whole bunch of arms are tugging on him. They are trying to take him somewhere. But he thinks everything is ok. "Oh no." I say. "What? What is it?" Rex asks me in a worried tone. "They know we are trying to get Ezra back so they are moving him somewhere else." I say. They all gasp.

"Hurry! Tell him to get away!" Hera shouts in fear. I close my eyes and focus. "Ezra run, run away from them." I say. I could only feel Ezra's force signature departing more and more. I then decide to shout it to get his attention.

"Ezra!!!! You need to run away from them!!!! Run as far away as you can!!!!" I shout. Everyone widens their eyes at my sudden outburst. That's when I feel Ezra's fear wise up and him panicking. "Kanan!!!!" "Ezra?!?!" Sabine shouts. "Yeah that was him." Rex says.

I sense that he got away. I sigh in relief. "Kanan?!?!? Where are you?!?!?!?" "We are in the ghost Ezra you must go to the portal." I say. "What portal?!?!?! All I see is darkness!!!!!" Hera starts to tear up.

"We are going to get you out of there. You must go to the portal!!!" I shout. "Alex is guarding that portal!!!! He won't let me leave!!!!" "We will tell you when to go to the portal, but right now stay away from him." I say. "Kanan!!!! Kanan!!!!! He's grabbing me!!!! He's grabbing me!!!!"

"Run Ezra run!!!!" I shout. Sabine is starting to cry. "I'm running Kanan!!!! I'm running!!!!" "Hang on Ezra we are coming." I say. "Hurry open the portal." Rex says. I take a deep breath and use the force. I focus on the spot they told me where it was before.

That's when the room starts to shake again. But I keep my balance and only focus on opening the portal. I use more of my strength every second. Gasping for air, I keep going. I start to see a small light getting bigger and bigger. I'm starting to struggle with keeping my focus, but I use the rest of my strength thinking of Ezra. He needs us right now.

That's when the portal fully opens and I get it to stay open for a few minutes. "Get a rope!!!!" I shout. Zeb then grabs a rope that he brought in a while ago and hands it to me. "Ezra!!! I'm throwing a rope!!! Go to the portal now!!!" I shout. "I can't!!!! They're blocking it!!!!"

"You have to!!! When you see a rope grab it and we will pull you out!!!" I tell him. I then throw the rope into the portal. "Hold on tight!!!" Zeb shouts. "I will!!!" I shout back. That's when I feel someone has grabbed hold of the rope. It's starting to get difficult to hold on to.

Hera then goes behind me and helps me pull on the rope. Zeb and Sabine join in on pulling the rope. Then Rex comes in and helps too. We all pull on it together with everything we got. The light starts to close. "We must hurry the portal is closing!!!!" Rex shouts.

We all tug on it faster till the whole rope comes back to us, without Ezra. "Oh no Ezra!!!!" I shout thinking he didn't make it. "Noooo!!!!" A voice shouts. That's when a bloody body goes through the portal a second before it closes. Everything stops shaking and we all fall the the floor.

"Ezra." I say noticing the body. I kneel besides it and feel his pulse. He barely has a heart beat. "Ezra!!!" I shout shaking him. He doesn't wake up. "I don't think he's breathing guys!!!!" I shout. Everyone circles around me looking at Ezra in fear. "Get him to the med bay!!!" Rex shouts.

I pick him up and carry him bridal style to the med bay, with everyone else following me. I lay him on the bed and get a wet cloth. Ezra looks extremely pale. "Come on Ezra wake up." I say wiping the blood off his lips with the cloth. Hera is right besides him putting her hand on his shoulder.

"Wake up Ezra. Wake up." I say shaking his shoulder. "We need you Ezra please wake up!!!" I shout starting to cry. All of a sudden he gasps for air and flutters his electric blue eyes open. "Ezra!!!!" We all shout. His skin color starts to comes back.

"What........what happened?" Ezra asks us. "What's the last thing you remember?" Rex asks him. "Uhh....when we were about to leave I think." Ezra says. "Why? What did I miss?"

"You were k-" I cut Rex off. "Nothing really." I say. I look at Rex and he nods agreeing it's better off him not knowing what happened. "How are you feeling?" Hera asks Ezra. "I feel kinda weird." He says. "Maybe you should rest." I say. Ezra nods and closes his eyes. He then quoted falls asleep.

"He's safe now." Rex says. I smile and put my hand gently on Ezra's shoulder. We did it. We got Ezra back. Now no more spirits will be after him. "It's been a rough time." Rex says. "Yeah we all better go to sleep." I say. They all nod in agreement and head out, except for Rex.

"Rex? You coming?" I ask him. "No I'll keep watch of him just in case." He says. I nod and leave to my room in peace.

Rex's pov

I sit down on a stool next to him. I just look at him. When I first met him, I felt something inside of me click. I felt lost before, I felt the need to leave. When I decided to stay to keep him safe, my mind was full of regret. Now I can't imagine going. This is my home. "Thank you........Helmet."
