Endor Celebration | SW/SWR
The twi'lek was currently enjoying her celebratory drink, when a certain familiar smuggler caught her eye. She had heard Lando had joined the rebellion about a year ago, but she didn't want to believe it. Ever since the stunt on Lothal years back, Hera still held a grudge and Lando still owed her big time.
The smuggler was currently talking with Han Solo, a fellow rebellion General and an ex-smuggler from what Hera had dug up. She figured the two of them knew each other from their smuggling days. Hera prayed to force that he won't notice her. It was a day of celebration, not opening old wounds.
She was leaning against one of the wood railings looking out onto the forest, enjoying the music when she felt a tap on her shoulder. She jumped and turned to face the person who was disrupting her blissful peace.
"Why long time no see old friend." Lando smiled, smooth talking as always.
She rolled her eyes. "Hey Lando, didn't think you would notice me in this crowd."
"I always notice a pretty face." He answered, and took a long sip from his drink.
"What do you want? I'm trying to enjoy the celebration." Hera replied and tried to scoot by him, to go anywhere, but with him.
"Can't I just check up on an old friend?" Lando smiled, softly.
"You aren't checking up on me. I know you're wondering if you could pay me back now, after all this time." She answered, and began to draw her attention to an ewok couple, dancing.
"You're a smart one." The man replied, and tried to regain Hera's line of sight. "So have you?"
"I'll tell you when, and there hasn't been a when yet." She replied, immediately. "Don't worry your head off."
"Come on, Hera. You must of thought of something." Lando continued.
"I told you I'll tell you when." Hera was fighting the urge to punch him. "I can't believe you even remember this after all this time."
"I am a business man, I never forget a deal." Lando replied and Hera could tell in his tone that he had changed.
"Well how did that puffer pig work out, I never heard from you."
"It was a gold mind." He said, nostalgic of the good old days, when money rolled in. "It actually really paid out, I was able to buy a mining colony on Bespin, until the Empire showed up, actually that's why I'm here today."
"So that's how you ended up here." Hera realized.
"Yep, all thanks to Han over there and his Jedi friend, it is quite the story, if you have the time." Lando answered and Hera was surprised that Lando knew Luke Skywalker, though through be told everyone in the rebellion knew who Luke was, even so the mention of a Jedi maybe her miss Kanan even more.
"Well maybe some other time." Hera answered.
"It's crazy how we all ended up here." He said, out of the blue.
"Yeah it truly is." She gapped.
"Hey whatever happened to your crew, the mando, the Jedi, the loth rat and the lasat." Lando asked.
"I'm surprised you asked, I didn't think you cared." Hera said, surprised.
"Can't a guy care about his old friends." He replied.
"We aren't friends, Lando." Hera said.
"Come on." He pestered.
"I won't call selling me as a slave for a mining pig, friends." She said, coldly.
"It all worked out in the end." He protested.
"For your information, my people have been sold as slaves for generations. I've lost a lot of family that way, so I don't take this lightly." She said, getting her old grudge off her chest.
"Calm down, I didn't think it mattered that much." Lando tried to soothe her.
"You are the scum of the galaxy." She poked him in the chest each word she spoke.
"I was." He scoffed.
She punched him straight in the chest again.
"But I blew up the Death Star." Lando whined.
Hera left the smooth talking smuggler, holding his chest as she walked away to get another drink.
