"Anakin! Anakin!"

Anakin was currently on the run after you, as Chancellor Palpatine claimed you tried to assassinate him by the use of your lightsaber. You were currently running out of the Jedi Temple, dodging flying stun blaster shots, and reflecting them back to the clones.

Anakin on the other hand was the only one who was on your side, because he saw you didn't try to assassinate him, and he was trying to reason with you.

Behind him, Obi-Wan was chasing after Anakin, knowing that you would outrun both of them, so he was planning to let you escape.

"Anakin! Let her go! You'll never catch up!" Obi-Wan shouts, letting the clones run in front of him, chasing after you, their flashlights beaming brightly in the night sky, making Obi-Wan shield his eyes.

Anakin whipped around, his eyes narrowed towards Obi-Wan, his lightsaber lighting up the night sky. Thunder rolled across the sky, indicating that it was going to rain soon. "I can't Obi-Wan! She didn't attempt to assassinate him! I saw it! I'm sorry!"

Anakin turned back around, seeing Captain Rex in a gunship up ahead, he ran to it flagging it down.

He hopped onto it, pointing towards your location. "Land there, get me close to her!"

"Yes general, " Rex nods, looking at the pilot, and shouting the orders over the sound of the blaster firing and thundering, to the pilot that Anakin had said to him.

As you ran, Anakin stood on the gunship, shouting to you. "(Y/N)!"

You ignored him, keeping your pace and reflecting blaster shots, and keeping your head down. You didn't want to make eye contact with Anakin, as you knew if you did, you would probably end up running into his arms, as you knew you always found comfort in them. In fact, you and Anakin had been dating for a while, and keeping it secret from the Republic and the Jedi Order had always been a hassle.

"(Y/N)!" he called again. His heart was aching. He wanted to tell you he loved you, and bring you into his arms and wrap a blanket around you and tell you it was going to be okay. "(Y/N) look at me!" He yelled, jumping out of the gunship, and running up to you. He grabbed your shoulder, making you spin around.

He stared into your eyes, his shoulders slowly rising and falling from running and heartache. His eyes looked you up and down, seeing that you were soaking wet from the rain, and your hair falling down on your face, he brought his left hand up, caressing your left cheek. You leaned into it, feeling the leftover warmth of his hand, as he wasn't in the rain as much as you were.

"Anakin..." you grabbed his hand, lowering it away from you. "I have to go. "

"No! You can't. You're not guilty. I saw it with my own eyes, " he pleads, his hair getting drenched, the pain pitter-pattering against the leather armor on his tunic.

"Please, let me go. I'll... I'll meet you back at your apartment, if you wish to see me again, " you smile, looking up into his eyes.

"No, no, " he shook his head, his eyes full of sadness and sorrow. He turned his head around, seeing Obi-Wan and Rex and his other clones at the doors of the Jedi Temple. "You have to come back, you have to make things right! If you run away, that only proves you're guilty!"

"No! Anakin, I'm running because I know the Jedi won't trust me anyway!" you retort, stepping away from him, sheathing your lightsaber. "They never have... They never will. The only people who have trust me are you, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka, and maybe Yoda. "

"Isn't that enough?"

"No... Anakin, it isn't. Chancellor Palpatine is already probably spreading the news about me now on the Holonet, " you respond, flinching when you heard a thunderclap, but it sounded louder and much closer.

"No... No, (Y/N) come back, the Order needs you, I need you, we-" he continued to ramble on, his feelings pouring out like a dam breaking, releasing the flood, until you slammed your lips on to his, letting your relationship become revealed among Obi-Wan and several other clones.

Anakin stood there in shock for a minute, until he melted into the kiss, and kissing you back, wrapping his arms around you, kissing you in the rain. He didn't care that Obi-Wan saw. In fact, Obi-Wan had already had his suspicions, but he didn't seem to care. At least, he hoped he didn't care. Anakin pulled you close to him, not wanting to let you go. He held onto you as if he would never see you again.

All around you, you heard clicking, the clone's guns lowering down, their safety being turned back on, as you and Anakin continued to seal your fate.

Out of every time you kissed, out of all the times you've hugged or had any intimate contact with one another, it never felt more magical than this, finally letting your secret out.

Finally your lips released from his, leaving Anakin breathless.

"(Y/N)..." he sighed, his eyes wandering your face. He saw tears beginning to trickle down the sides of your cheeks, knowing that you would never be able to see him again. His hands ran up and down your sides, offering you a small smile, to try and bring your back home.

"I... I can't. I love you, " You reply with sadness and guilt, looking down, then looking back up and into his eyes. You saw his hair was completely drenched down, his curls no longer there, as they were matted down against his head from being so wet.

Anakin smiled, and for the first time in a long time, a tear escaped his right eye, rolling down his cheek. He leaned in to give you another kiss, but you put your hand up to his lip, stopping him. "Just say you love me," you reply, not sure if you'll ever see him again.

"I... I love you, " he replies, as you remove your hand from his mouth.

Slowly, you pull away, his hands let go of yours unwillingly, until finally, you ran away.

The clones put their weapons up again, until Anakin shook his head. "No, let her go, we'll catch her some other time."

Around him he heard the clicking again, their weapons lowering. He turned around and walked towards the entrance of the Jedi Temple, seeing Obi-Wan he huffed and walked inside, followed by him.

"You love her don't you?" Obi-Wan asked, crossing his arms, seeing for the first time in a while that he was unguarded and well... Soft.

Anakin stopped in his tracks, and turned his head slightly only to see Obi-Wan. "Yes... Yes I do. "

Obi-Wan sighed, accepting Anakin's fate. "Alright... Well, go change into some dry clothes. The Council wants to speak with you and I."

After Anakin and Obi-Wan had changed into dry clothes and had taken a shower, they headed up to the Council chambers, where all of the other Council members were waiting for them.

They arrived, stepping into the chambers, seeing all the Council members had gathered there, sitting down in their seats, except Obi-Wan of course, who was standing in the middle with Anakin.

"Anakin, " Mace Windu said sternly.

Anakin shot up to attention, his posture being completely fixed and his hands behind his back.

"Yes master Windu?" he asked, looking at the Jedi master.

"What can you tell us about (Y/N)? Do you know why she would try to assassinate the Chancellor?" he asks, resting his chin on his clasped hands.

Anakin's eyebrows furrowed, his hands getting tighter around one another. "She did not try and assassinate him. I saw it with my own eyes. The Chancellor has made false claims. "

"Why should we believe you? Why would the Chancellor do such a thing?" Windu asks, leaning back in his seat, his arms crossed.

"You should believe me because I saw it! I saw her... " Anakin replayed the memory back in his head of you and the Chancellor. "I saw her in Palpatine's office. I walked in on their meeting, going to tell the Chancellor about our victory on Felucia, but the next thing I saw was an assassin droid trying to kill the Chancellor, and (Y/N) whipped out her lightsaber to protect him, but the Chancellor moved behind her to make it look like she was trying to kill him... And no, I do not know why the Chancellor made these accusations, but what I do know that (Y/N) is indeed innocent," he claims passionately, staring down master Windu as he explained himself.

"Why are you protecting her so much? Were you on in this plot too?" Master Ki-Adi-Mundi inquired.

Anakin whipped around, his teeth gritting. "No, " he spat, then he realized how rude he was and angry he was and calmed down. "No, I am not in on this. And I'm protecting her because I know the truth!"

"Anakin... Do you... Care about her? And do you really know anything on why the Chancellor would do so?" Master Plo-Koon asked, folding his hands together.

"Yes I care about her, she's a friend, " Anakin admits, looking at the Council frantically.

"Are you sure?" Plo-Koon asks again.

"I told you I know nothing! She's... She's a friend, " Anakin replied, telling only half the truth. Yes, he didn't know anything, but you weren't just his 'friend' you were his girlfriend, and sooner or later he wanted to propose.

"Master Kenobi, is this true?" Mace Windu says, trying to find the truth. If there was one person Mace Windu would find the truth in, it was Obi-Wan, or so he thought.

Anakin sighed, looking down at the ground as he realized he would reveal his relationship in front of the Jedi Council. He knew at that moment he would never be able to gain the rank of Master, or even worse, he would be removed from the Order.

Obi-Wan stood quiet for a moment, stroking his beard. "Yes, it's true, " he confirmed, glancing at Anakin. "They are only friends. Before I saw (Y/N) get away, she hugged Anakin, and then she left. "

As Obi-Wan finished his sentence, Anakin's face lit up, his gaze turning to see Obi-Wan. He looked into Obi-Wan's eyes, giving him a silent, 'Thank you, ' before returning his attention to Master Windu.

Obi-Wan chuckled, then returned his gaze to Mace Windu.

"Master Windu, we will find (Y/N), and we will see what we can get out of her. But for now, we have to trust Anakin, " Obi-Wan replies, sending a wave of confidence to Anakin.

"Of course... Obi-Wan, do you trust Skywalker?" Mace Windu asks.

"Yes. I trust him with my life. "

After many hours of running, chasing, and inquiring, you were found innocent by the court, and Chancellor Palpatine had been impeached because of false claims, and misuse of emergency powers.

You now stood in the Council chambers, the sunrise breaking through the clouds, sending light into the chambers.

Anakin and the rest of the Council chambers stood in front of you, their expressions filled with guilt, as they had falsely accused you too.

"(Y/N), could you forgive us?" Master Windu asked, holding out his hands, gesturing to everyone. "We are deeply sorry that we ever doubted you. "

You sighed, scratching your arm in doubt. "I don't know... I don't know if I could ever trust you again. "

"(Y/N) if you forgive us, we could start anew with our trust, and we would be more open to you, " quips Master Ki-Adi-Mundi.

You nod, willing to try again, as you knew you probably wouldn't have a life without being a Jedi. You had to. "I... I will stay. "

Immediately, Anakin's face lit up, as did the rest of the Jedi. The Jedi welcomed you back, shaking your hand, and talking to you for what seemed like thirty minutes, until they all left the Council room, leaving only you and Anakin, and Obi-Wan waiting for you both outside the door of the Council chambers, as you had a mission to report to, to meet Ahsoka on Devaron.

"Hey, thanks for staying here, " Anakin chuckles, shoving his hands in his pockets. "I don't know what I would do without you. "

You nodded, smiling. "Truthfully, I only did it because of you. If you and I weren't dating, then I wouldn't have stayed here. This Order is messed up. I don't like it. "

Anakin nods, biting his lip as he agreed with you. "Yes, I agree. But the Jedi Order is my life, I don't know what I would do without it. "

You smile again, wrapping your arms around his neck, and his hands snaking around your waist.

"I love you, " you say sweetly, your smile making him melt.

"And I love you, " he replies. He leaned in to kiss you, your lips met with his, traveling into a deep kiss, beyond measure, not giving a care in the world of who saw, or who hated the idea of attachments.

For it was only you two who mattered at this moment, and you both alone.
