Rey Skywalker- Scrap (a)

"Half a portion?!" The scavenger in front of you knock the small pouch from Unkar's fleshy hand and scattered her plunder across the counter of his makeshift trading post. "I brought you almost this exact same stuff a month ago and I got three portions? Don't tell me you're getting an influx of AT-AT motors, not from the rabble around here anyway."

"You get what you get, and you're grateful for it." Unkar scoffed, unwilling to forfeit anymore of his polystarch bread and making it quite clear that next time she may not even receive that. "Move along. You aren't the only hungry bottom feeder here... next!"

Rey plucked the plastic from the sand beneath her and marched off to enjoy her half meal, you handed in your scrap to Unkar and went to find her.

"Nice home you've got here." You announced from outside her fallen AT-AT. In Jakku it would not be uncommon for some of the more unsavoury members of the community to help themselves to other people's possessions, and you wouldn't enjoy being at the wrong end of the staff that hung over her back. "I think you got ripped off earlier." You called out after being met with silence from your original beckon.

"No kidding." You pushed through the patched rags used as curtains to see her sat on a sandy rug with her knees tucked into her chest. "I can only presume you were short changed a portion or four?"

"Kind of." You held out three portions to an unsuspecting scavenger. "I used to run in Unkar's gang of thugs."

"I see. You probably were sent to collect money from me once or twice. The names Rey." Carefully she took the hefty portions from your hand, weary in the face of a potential trap. "If you're here on behalf of that blobfish, just do it now. I'm too hungry and tired to fight."

"I'm not. I renounced that lifestyle a long time ago. He still gives me good portions for the scrap though, I just think this is what yours were worth."

"Make sure you have enough for yourself." She scooted over to give you space but hastily ripped into her first pack and after adding just a small drip of water, was soon enjoying the bloom of bread.

"I do, don't worry."

"Thank you." She tore some for you but you refused.

"Us 'bottom feeders' have to look out for one another. If you have any other scrap give it to me first and I'll give it to him, at least then you'll get slightly closer to what your stuff is actually worth."
