Jyn Erso- Scarif (a)

"There are a lot of people that owe their lives to you Jyn Erso, the weird thing is that most of them aren't even alive yet." Jyn smiled as she gazed over at the formations of ships rapidly escaping through the previously obliterated shield wall. "It's pretty obvious that we aren't going to make it out of here alive, if that beam really is strong enough to blow this whole planet to shit, I don't think we stand much of a chance, not unless you can pull an X-Wing out of your pocket." She smiled again, almost as if she had forgotten about the very rapidly impending doom.

"I'm not the only person to thank here." She sat herself down on the golden shore of Scarif, something that you and her would most likely be the last to ever do. For all the misdeeds and evil the Empire had already brought upon the universe, they could have at least chosen somewhere else to ruin with their monoliths to pain and suffering.

"No, but yours is the name that will go down in the history books, is it not?" She smiled again as the warm glow of the death star's laser cascaded down onto the far horizon, just past the sapphire horizon, the emerald glow lighting up her eyes and her face.

"I don't think so. Some of the best people in the universe lost their lives today, I like to think that every single one of them will be remembered as someone that gave their life to help end the Empire's tyranny over the universe." The glow and the heat had slowly crept towards you, accompanied by a horrendous clashing of earth and metal.

"Great stories will be told about the battle of Scarif, I can just feel it. Only a few more minutes now before we are turned to dust, and I thought I would be more scared to die, y/n. After everything that's happened though, I kind of feel weirdly okay with it."

"Your death, everybody's death today will be inspiration to the next generation of rebel fighters. We have done what we can do today, and it has helped one hell of a lot. There will always be bad guys though, the end of the Death Star just a small blip for the Empire in the grand scheme of things."

"But just as there is always bad guys, there is always the good to balance them out, and there is always hope."
