Han Solo- Job (a)
The bustling centre of the capital's docks was full of an intrepid subsection of folk... folks loading up their vessels with all sorts of produce, weapons, some men and women even loading their ships up with other beings, smuggling them onto other planets... hopefully to safety but in this age nothing was certain.
"What makes you think that you're fit for the job?" The man who had been recommended to you, a Mr Han Solo, leant against the shipping crate. His arms sat crossed and his head constantly turned from side to side, keeping an eye out for trouble.
"This is a walk in the park." He smacked a fist against the container and stepped back to run his eyes along the scratched metal exterior.
"How can you be so sure of that? You don't even know what's in there."
"Is it alive?" He asked, strutting around to the front and jiggling the heavy, rugged lock in his hand.
"It is. That wouldn't be a problem would it?" He shook his head and gazed up at size of the container in an attempt to gaze how big this beast must be.
"Is it going to explode on me?" He flicked through some paperwork that he pulled from the back pocket of his trousers before rummaging through a satchel that sat slung over his shoulder making sure that he was fully stocked in case things went south.
"I would be very surprised if it did but that still doesn't quite- "
"Well there we go then... what else could there be for me to worry about." His cocky strut was now matched with a confident grin and a set of dazzling eyes that instantly set you at ease.
You leaned into his ear, making sure that nobody could hear you except him.
"With this shipment, the retaining of peace in the galaxy in your hands, Han Solo." He took a step back and faked a look of bewilderment and amazement.
"If I had a credit for every time somebody told me that I wouldn't have to smuggle anymore."
"Well maybe this time you should take the claim a bit more seriously. If this delivery fails, life as we know it could crumble." He rolled his eyes and faked a yawn. "Don't worry, you will be compensated for the importance accordingly."
That did catch his attention.
"Tell me then. What apocalypse denying bag of magic am I taking with me?"
You whistled quietly into the crowds and from a deep shadow, a young girl walked forward, her skin covered in iridescent scales and tentacles protruding from her body. She seemed scared at first, but you managed to coax her into the care of Han.
"No, no, no. I don't do trafficking, I'm out." He started to walk away.
"Mr. Solo this is not 'trafficking', the opposite in fact. This is the daughter of a chief deep in the galaxy. This just so happens to be the daughter of the Chief, stolen by the galactic empire."
"So not only do you want me to be your babysitter, you want me to be to babysit somebody scorching hot on the Empire's radar?"
"I thought you could smuggle anything Mr. Solo". He ran his hands across his face and through his hair before finally resting them on his hip.
"Completion of this job will set you up for life. More credits than one man could ever find a use for." You could see the internal battle happening within him, you had heard that he had both a love for danger, credits and notoriety, and this hit all three.
"I want one more thing from this."
"My clients aren't particularly open to trading Mr. Solo, but there is no harm in asking I suppose."
"I do this for you, I get to take you out on a date."
