As you clasped your hand in the other you felt the jagged edges of your severely bitten nails digging into your palm. It had been almost two weeks since you had woken up as normal, walked down the stairs with hazy eyes only for Han to have disappeared. All his items still littered the house, almost none of his clothes or credits were taken and his muddy boots till cluttered the hallway as they always did, it was as if he had just vanished from thin air.
"Is dinner on, I'm starving!" He shouted into the kitchen as he shut the door to your home and hung his jacket above the mud-covered boots.
"What!" You marched through the hallway and stared him in his confused eyes. "You disappear for two weeks, no note, no messages where the bloody hell were you?! Where did you go!?" Han strolled past you and headed towards the kitchen with hands outstretched to the freshly baked bread that sat cooling on the counter top. "No!" You smacked his hand away from the loaf.
"I had an old friend knock at the door. Long story short I owed him a favour and who was I to say no? You owe someone a favour you do them the favour."
"Well..." You once again smacked his hand away, this time harder and much sterner, it was like having a child for a husband. "You could have at least left a note, we were worried about you! Whatever, have the bread." You had barely finished speaking before he had ripped half of it away and slapped it onto a plate.
"I didn't have time to leave a note, I hardly had time to put my coat on and grab my blaster before I was whisked away. Just be lucky I came back fully intact, it was a crazy one." He smirked with the lopsided lip curl that he knew melted your heart and made it impossible for you to stay mad with him. "Besides, some of the funds from the job to get you something you said you wanted."
With one hand still ramming bread into his mouth he reached into his pocket, fumbled around and pulled out a thin but long velvety blue box and held it out towards you. Reluctant to accept the gift but too curious to refuse you took it from him.
Inside on a cushiony padding sat a jewelled bracelet, the inlayed gemstones took the sun's rays and cascaded them around the room in all sorts of colours.
"Han, it's beautiful." You couldn't take your eyes away from the bold but subtle gems.
"I know." He helped himself to the rest of the bread. "Are you going to stop moaning about me going now?"
