Being a smuggler had its ups and its downs. It could be fun and there was no doubting you were good at it, yet it could also put you in some really dangerous situations.
That danger factor seemed to increase when your boyfriend - and sometimes smuggling partner - Han Solo, decided to join you.
Yes, you loved the man but sometimes, most times, something bad usually happened while you were along his side.
One of the upsides to this is that you had his partner, Chewbacca, by your side to help you get out of these sticky situations but, unfortunately not today.
So you were stuck with Han on a job alone, you'll probably be dead by the end of the day.
"Poor Chewie." You pouted after Han told you the story of how the big furry creature was attacked by a group of Ewoks and managed to get an arrow to the arm. "How long is he out?"
"Well, maybe a few days. He wanted to come with us today but I insisted he needed to rest -which he does." Han informs you as he sits down in the pilot's seat of his ship, the Millennium Falcon.
"Aw, how sweet of you." You tease, joining him in the co-pilot's seat where Chewie usually sat.
"Yeah, yeah." He shrugs off while he starts picking at various controls. Silence falls between the two of you as you prepared the ship.
You weren't the biggest fan of Han's precious ship - as you preferred your own - but when he gave you that pouty, doe-eyed look, you couldn't say no.
This thing was so old, you could barely navigate the main control panels, but you've gotten used to it, somehow. Between picking at different things, figuring it our yourself and Han's somewhat confusing instructions (followed by Chewie's less confusing instructions), you always managed to work things out.
You were about to program the ships route into the navigation display when a thought occurred, you had no idea where you were going.
"Han, I need the coordinates." You announce, watching him as he continues to type something into the ships computer. "Han." You warn, taking notice to his avoiding stare.
"Yeah, I'd rather not give them to you." He replies, his attention never leaving the task in front of him.
You furrow your eyebrows, "Why?"
"Because I said so." He replies in a sharp tone - one that you weren't too fond of.
Growing annoyed, you spin his chair to face you, making sure he's looking directly at you before speaking, "Han, I suggest you tell me the planet right now or this ship ain't blasting off, buddy!"
"Dantooine." He mumbles with a guilty look.
"Dantooine?! That dirtball!" You shout back, rage boiling through you, "You know I have at least ten different pigs after me just waiting for my return!"
"I know, I know, but I need the money and this guy was willing to pay a lot to get just a few weapons from some thugs!" Han explains.
You decide to let it slip, not in the mood to argue it any further, "Fine, but you own me. Big time."
Han smiles gratefully before turning back to his previous task. You focus on setting the coordinates for Dantooine and soon enough the Falcon is taking off.
It doesn't take long for the ship to jump to lightspeed and before you know it, you're approaching Dantooine.
You sigh as you state out the viewport, eyeing the musky planet with a glare.
"We've got trouble." Han comments, nodding towards an imperial ship leaving the atmosphere of the planet. Boy, Han was going to get a kick out of this one, you thought.
Suddenly, a red light starts flashing, barely catching the corner of your eye and then you know, it is indeed trouble.
"Raise the deflector shields!" Han yells.
"On it!" You response, reaching above you and flicking the switch to summon the shields.
Soon enough, the large ship sends out a blast, hitting the Falcon causing it to jolt to the left. You look over to see Han struggling with some calculations, growing frustrated by the second.
"Han, watch it!" You yell as the ship takes another hit. "What are you doing?!" He shrugs as he starts to panic.
"We have to lose them, we can't risk shooting back." You inform him but he only stumbles on his words, still struggling with the task.
You quickly get out of your seat, nudging Han to get him out of the pilot's seat. He obeys with a small sigh, making his way to the co-pilot's seat.
It doesn't take much effort for you to gain control of things and Han scoffs at your confidence.
"Hold on, flyboy!" You shout just before you guide the ship into a sharp left turn, swerving past the enemy ship.
You laugh as you pick up speed and Han watches you with wide eyes.
"How did you get imperials after you? Cause' they sure as hell aren't after me!" Han shouts, staring out the viewport.
You look over at him with a smile on your face, a laugh forming from your lips, "Well, uh, I might have gotten into one of their Star Destroyers and stolen a ton of explosives," You shrug and Han's eyes widen in shocked as a smirk forms on his face, "Oh, yeah, and there was that TIE fighter I stole... or maybe three."
"God, I'm so in love with you." Han replies, making you look over at him redness glistening your cheeks.
He smiles back, resisting the urge to grab your face and kiss you right then and there.
Suddenly, you take another sharp turn and the red light stops flashing, the ship's radar clear.
"Looks like we lost em'." You smirk, standing from your seat. Han takes over the pilots seat again as you return to the co-pilots.
"I had things under control." Han shrugs, guiding the ship towards the planet.
"Yeah, yeah whatever you say."
