...

"Ben! How could you!"

Red light glistened the man's face as you stared at his menacing figure from the end of the bridge, your eyes widened with horror and hatred.

You felt betrayed, heartbroken by the scene you witnessed only seconds ago. Tears had already stained your cheeks and more threatened to fall as you thought of that moment, the horrifying screams that fell from your lips.

The little boy you had once loved dearly was no longer inside this man, he was simply a heartless monster. A monster that was capable of killing his own father.

You couldn't believe this was the same person you grew up with; the same person who you went to when you couldn't sleep at night. The same person who held you when you cried and told you he'd never let anything bad happen to you. The same person who cried himself when he was hurt. The same person who needed love and affection just as much as any other person.

This couldn't be the same person for the boy you once knew him to be would never commit such a ruthless crime.

Your feet carry you towards him, your steps powerful. You never break eye contact with him, not even to blink.

The realization really started to sink in as you now stood only inches apart from him, his hateful eyes staring deep into yours

This monster killed your father. The man who raised you and loved you since the day you were born. The man who never left you side and stuck by you no matter what. He was now gone and it was all because of your own brother.

When he took the life of your father, he also took a piece of you. He wounded your heart, something that could never be redeemed.

"You're foolish for showing your face here. You will suffer the same fate as Han Solo."

It wasn't the truth, he didn't want to kill you. His actions had already weakened him, taking the life of another person who loved him would destroy him. He wouldn't be able to do it but he wouldn't admit that. Not to you, not even to himself.

"No! Do not call him that. He was your father, you can't hide from that! Not anymore." Your voice was ragged and rough as you shouted at him. Hatred filled your entire being and you had to hold back more tears.

"You're just like him. You're weak." He spits back but you ignore every word.

You had no symphony for him and he was going to know that. He was going to suffer the realization. He was going to regret this.

"His whole life revolved around us, Ben. Since the day we were born, we were his whole world. He cared about us more than anything, he would have done anything for us. Now look how you've repaid him. You've already caused great suffering for everyone who ever loved you and what for, was it all truly worth it?" You take a long pause, staring straight into his eyes with a harsh glare as you watched his emotions shift. He looked regretful, ashamed but you knew he deserved it. "I hope this haunts you for the rest of your life. I hope you look back on this and you think of me - these things I'm telling you - and I hope you think of mom, she has already suffered through so much pain she didn't deserve and now you've killed a piece of her, too."

There was a long pause of slience as he tried to hold back his tears and steady his voice,"You may be right, but I cannot change what I am meant to be." His voice was now soft, seeping with regret. No matter how much he tried to conceal his true emotions, they showed.

Tears were stinging your eyes and you finally let them fall. "You're so stubborn! Can't you see this is not who you're supposed to be? This is who you were molded into by the dark side - by Snoke. This isn't your true destiny!"

Feeling every single emotion that was built up inside of you explode, without thought, you began to reach for your lightsaber, wanting to kill him right then and there, the same place he had killed your father.

Before you even get a chance to remove it from your belt, you hear the loud cry of a Wookiee and see Ben crouched over in front of you.

Thoughts clouded your brain and you couldn't think straight, the only thing you could do was run.

You ran away from the bridge where you had seen your father for the last time and right outside into the cold, stormy air and into the woods.

You ran and you ran, without looking back. You had no idea where you were headed, you had no thoughts of Rey, Finn, Chewie and where they could be. Your only thought was getting as far away as you could.

Once you finally run out of breathe and your legs give out, you stop letting yourself collapse on the snow filled ground. You let out a loud sob, every emotion inside of you was coming out in series of loud, pained cries until you felt nothing.

"[Y/N]!" You hear a voice cry out. Your vision was clouded with tears and you felt like you were paralyzed.

"[Y/N]!" It cries out again and this time, you feel a hand on your shoulder and you see a pair of soft eyes in front of you.

"Rey." You whisper, weakly, meeting her concerned face.

She helps you up with the help of Finn and you start to compose yourself, taking deep breathes.

"Are you okay?" Finn questions, holding your shoulders, forcing eye contact. You nod quickly before pulling him in for a hug.

Suddenly, you felt a strong presence again. Without hesitation, you pull back from Finn's arms and your hand reaches for your lightsaber, gripping the hilt as you yank it out.

Seconds later, you hear the low hum of a lightsaber and see the distant red glow.

"Ben!" You call out as his dark figure comes into view, the red glow of his lightsaber illumitating his face as he swung it effortlessly.

As he draws closer, you feel Finn tense up next to you as he has your Uncle's lightsaber gripped in his hands. He was ready to fight, you could tell. You wanted to reach out and stop him but you couldn't bring yourself to do it.

"That lightsaber belongs to me!" He was now only a few feet away.

"That lightsaber belongs to Luke, and you are not worthy." You spit back.

"And he is?" He retorts.

You feel the hatred grow inside of you each second as you stare at your brother. It was still so hard to wrap your head around the thought that the innocent little boy you grew up with was now this man.

You ignited your own lightsaber, ready to defend your friends. The green glow lights the snow beneath you as the blade points towards the ground.

You focus your thoughts, preparing yourself for something you never wanted to do.

Lunging towards him, you swing your saber right at his face but he's quick to block it. Letting all of your emotions take over, you swing at him carelessly over and over again with tears clouding your vision once again.

"I told you, you're weak." He says before you feel a heavy pressure on your chest and you're flying backwards sending you into a chilling darkness.

Once your eyes flutter open again, your head feels a daze and you struggle to take in your surroundings when everything comes piling back.

Shooting up from your position on the ground, you look around searching for your friends. You eventually spot Finn laying on the ground unconscious. You quickly run over to him, collapsing by his side. You check his pluse, panic shifting through you. A wave of relief floods you as you feel the slow beat.

Your head shoots up when a scream fills your ears. Two figures appear in the distance and you hear Rey's scream again.

Running towards the two, you ignite your lightsaber by your side. You swing it in between their clashing blades and they stumble back from each other.

"We aren't finished, Ben."

With that, the man swings his blade towards your head, you duck, countering the attack by swinging at his shoulder, causing him to stumble back and let out a pained scream. You slide the blade across his back as he turned around, causing another loud scream to sound from him.

It was satisfying, seeing the person who had caused so much pain, suffer, even if he was your brother.

You immediately shake these thoughts from your mind as you knew they were the path to the Dark side.

He turned around, not giving up on the fight. Your skin felt like it was burning, your anger was taking over you again each time your saber clided with his.

Once you have the upper hand in the fight you push him down with the force holding him against the ground and now, he was truly the weak one.

It would be easy to kill him, you thought, he wouldn't be able to put up a fight. You could just stab the blade right through him and he'd be gone and your father would be avenged.

Raising your saber above your head, you gather up every bit of strength, seconds away from watching your own brother die the same day you watched your father die.

You were about to end it once and for all but then something else peeks into your thoughts of hatered.

Your mother.

This would truly ruin her. Losing Han and then losing Ben - even if he did murder your father - it would still crush her and you truly didn't want her to suffer anymore. She had been through far too much.

Instead of becoming the murderer you were sure you were about to become, you embrace the light.

You throw your lightsaber to the ground and you bend down next to your brother4, grabbing the fabric of this black clothing, bringing him to meet you your eyes.

For awhile, you only stare at him, his face covered in blood, his eyes drained of emotion. You carefully choose your words before you speak, "The dark side clouds everything, Uncle Luke told us that, remember? Snoke has taken over your thoughts, he is controlling you. He wants you to think that this is who you are supposed to be but it's not. You are supposed to home with the people who love you. Our mother, me." You pause, giving yourself a moment to let your tears fall quietly. "If you chose to believe in Snokes lies then so be it, suffer the destiny you make for yourself. But, if you chose to come home with me, we will help you, Ben. We will help rid you of this pain. The light is already there, I know you feel it but you think letting it in is the wrong thing to do when it's not. Please, just let it in."

As your stare deeper into his eyes, a familiar feeling stirs inside of you. It was the bond; the bond you once shared with your brother, Ben Solo. The bond that made you stronger. You had thought it disappeared forever but here it was, coming back. "Please, Ben." You croak out, giving into your tears once again. He doesn't say a word but what happens next shocks you.

He hugs you. He wraps his arms around your waist and burries his head into your chest.

The man before seemed to melt into a child and as you wrapped you arms around him, you felt like you were mending a broken bone as you held on tight.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He cries out between sobs.

You knew it was going to take a lot to truly believe him. You knew it would be a long road to making things normal again, if it was even possible. You could not dismiss the great pain he had caused throughout the entire galaxy. But you knew you had to try, for this was your brother.

He was family.

And you knew, you could never give up on family, no matter what.
