Our last kiss (Hux)
It just happened so slow, yet fast.
Armitage clutched his wife's limp, pale and cold hand tightly, tears pooling in his eyes. His sight was blurry and crystalized by the tears he was holding back... He knew that you hated seeing him unhappy. It made her cry, too.
Until he gave up. Tears began to stream down his face, bringing your hand on his lips, sobbing heavily, hoping you would wake up and assure him that you were alright. To assure him that it was alright. But no... You laid on a bed, half of your body covered by white sheets, your heart no longer gave a sign of life. Needless to say... You died. The operation failed.
"I'm sorry... It's all my fault..." He sobbed, endless tears streamed down his pale face. He was desperate for you to wake up, but miracle was the only thing that would be able to do that.
"General," spoke his second-in-command. "Lady Hux wanted to give you this." She held out an envelope, but Hux did not budged. He remained still. She gulped.
"I shall read it for you then," she paused, opening the letter that you wanted Tyrine to give him. She cleared her throat, "To my beloved husband, Happy anniversary. It has been 3 years since the day of our marriage. After all these years, after all my years, I have never found such man like you. A strong, loving and caring husband. I still remembered the day we have meet, our confession, our first date, Our first kiss, our first night of lust, your proposal, our vows... All of those years, I knew that you tried your very best as my loving husband, balancing both me and your work in the First Order. I did too. I think there is no more point of hiding it, but, Armitage, I'm pregnant..." Tyrine trailed off, glancing up to the General who was stiff and still.
She continued. "Haha, well. It's been a long journey for us as being a married couple. And even after all these years, I will still cherish, honor, respect, take care and love you until my very last breathe. Scratch that, I will never, ever stop loving you even though I'm dead. I love you, Armitage, and always will." She looked up once more at her superior, tears started forming in her eyes. She felt sorry. She sniffed and cleared her throat. "I will leave you with your thoughts General. I will be outside." She said, before walking off.
He thought that it would be a nice day... But things didn't went in the way where it's supposed to be.
"Armitage!" A cherished voice called after Armitage. "How do you like my dress? I made sure that I look decent on our anniversary." She sheepishly asked, twirling around with a new dress.
"You look beautiful as always, my love," he pulled you close to him, engulfing you in his warm arms. You leaned your head in his chest, hearing his fast heart beat.
"I love you, you know that?" You mumbled, stroking his cheek lovingly. He then held your hand firmly, but with affection.
"Of course. And I love you, too, Y/N." He kissed your forehead.
--------------------------------------------
He remembered you and his first anniversary... The forgotten gift mattered not, as long as the two of you are together. As long the two of you would successfully overcome every journey that life and fate may surely bring. As long of you, are living happily, satisfied with each others companion...
Then another memory of you flashes.
----------------------------------------------------------
"When we met for the first time, we were like a cat and a dog. We always fought. Even though I'm your superior, you always thought that you can top me. I never knew that I could ever fall for you... You have that bossy type inside you... Then a day came, that made me realize that I fell for you. Then there came a time when a tragedy stroke, but that did not broke our relationship. I felt thankful when you accidentally dropped that heavy metal on my head. Because that was the day when I felt delighted and joyful. I, Armitage Hux, will cherish, love, honor, respect and obey you, until my very last breathe... Scratch that, I will love you, no matter what happens."
"Well that was cheesy," You laughed. "We started as rivals, then friends, then couples, then fiancés... Now, we're here, in front of an altar, reciting our written vows. From the first time we met, I thought that I will never have my forever, but then I dropped a wrench." You, him and the audience chuckled. "Yes, as you said, we started as bickering rivals, then friends. As your future, I will do the same as you will. No man will ever make me feel the same as you do. I, Y/N L/N, will forever love, take care, respect, honor and obey. No matter what happens, my dear Armitage, you are the only one that made me feel that forever is possible."
"I now pronounce you as wedded couples, you may now kiss the bride." The priest proclaimed. Armitage smiled, as he removes the white veil that concealed your face.
Armitage did not hesitated to lean his head to yours, until the gaps closed in between the two of you. The two of you were in your own worlds, that you didn't heard the audience's loud applaud.
The two of you leaned back, smiling widely, knowing that the two of you will be together.... Forever.
-----------------------------------------------------
Armitage continuously cried, his beloved wife still dead. Of course, we all now that the dead never resurrects.
----------------------------------------------------
"Armitty~," You called. "Let's go!"
"Sure dearest, just wait for me in the main hangar." He kissed your forehead.
"Of course, Darling." You gave him a quick kiss, before making you way on the main hangar... But that's the last time he saw you alive.
When you left, he heard the emergency alarms... He looked on a monitor, and saw an attack on the main hangar. He ran on the main hangar, knowing that you were there. He ignored the calls of the other officers.
When he got there... He was already too late. He ran to you, blood staining his unit from your blood. He put your head on his lap, caressing your cheek.
"Armitage, promise me... That you'll remember me..." You reached up to him, caressing his tear stained cheek. He held your hand in his.
"Please... Don't say that..." He sobbed.
"Armitage, we both know that I'm going to die here." You laughed. "Remember when you said that you'll give the galaxy to me?" He nodded. "You already did when you loved me."
He remained silent. "Kiss me." You plead. He leaned close, kissing your lips with rough and sorrow. You used your remaining energy to kiss him back...
He pulled away in alarm, seeing you limp and still... Something warm poured into his eyes... He held her closer to his chest, and gave her their last kiss.
He lost his love and life that night.
A/N:
Based on the song entitled "Last Kiss" by Pearl Jams. Haha, I was in an angsty mood when I wrote this.
